Alia looked at Bryan, her eyes calm as she pulled her sword out of Moore’s chest.

Her eyes were cold as she let Moore’s body crash to the floor with a thud.

"How are you doing, sir?" She asked calmly as she walked towards Bryan.

Bryan nodded.

"Thank you," he said.

His eyes continuously shifted between Alia and the corpse on the floor.

Although he was sure he could handle Moore with enough ti, ti was not sothing he had the leisure to give at this mont.

Although he was not sure what was happening too, as Grand General of the Veritas Corps, the safety of the planet was his utmost concern.

"But how were you able to sneak up on us? We didn’t see you until you killed Moore," Bryan suddenly asked with furrowed brows.

What Alia did, under normal circumstances, it should have been impossible.

At the Marshal stage, a cultivator could feel everything within their imdiate space.

The only things that could escape their detection were things of higher grades.

Alia smiled at his question.

"That’s just how it always is, everyone forgets I am there, even if they can see ," she said.

"The only ti they see is either when I perform an action, or I allow it."

As she spoke, she looked up, into the sky, as if gazing at sothing far from there.

Bryan looked at her for a while.

"So, you have a stealth related skill," he said.

"Skill?" Alia said back.

"Well, you can say so, I guess."

Bryan just shook his head.

Her skill was dangerous. Maybe too dangerous.

’With a skill this broken, she could enter the most secured place and co out without anyone seeing her.’ He thought, but his focus snapped back in place.

"I would have loved to hear more, but it seems like the city is in trouble."

Bryan was about to fly away, when Alia stopped him.

"I heard fighting coming from that area," she pointed in one direction.

"And it seems to be really serious."

Bryan blinked.

He thought of who it could be, fighting at that area.

"It should be the governor, there’s no issue if he is there," Bryan finally concluded.

After all, all mbers of the Veritas Corps had left the mansion before he even gave the command, sothing he attributed to his lazy but competent deputy.

"What if it is the deputy?" Alia countered.

Sothing about that fight made her uneasy.

Bryan shook his head. "There’s still no problem."

To him, Alfred was even worse when compared to Max.

"Just check, I would take care of these guys while you go," she said.

Right on cue, several lower gang mbers of the Crimson Fang began to pour through the gate.

Bryan looked at Alia for a while before he nodded.

There was no cri in checking, he could just speed his way back to the city if it was under control.

With one final glance, Bryan shot into the sky.

Alia turned to face the gate.

The Crimson Fang mbers poured through in a steady stream, weapons drawn, aether flickering across so of them.

She counted them without moving her lips.

Thirty.

She was not sure if there were more behind them, but she did not care.

She rolled her neck once as she prepared to welco her first wave.

They did not keep her waiting, they reached her.

Alia was no longer there.

They looked around, weapons raised, eyes darting around in confusion.

One of them felt sothing cold press against their neck.

He looked down.

Alia’s katana was already withdrawing, clean and quiet, and he was already falling to the ground before the one beside him could even register the sound.

Her form flickered again, leaving a trail of crimson lining the air in another place.

Alia’s body weaved through all of them, appearing sowhere before they could catch up.

The only evidence that proved she had ever been in a spot was what she left behind, trails of crimson and fallen bodies.

A cultivator at the back of the group suddenly sprang outside, at the place they had seen Alia stop at.

He brought his sword down, over her.

Alia looked at him, like he was a fly who did not know his place.

Before the sword could complete its arc, the hand had fallen, landing with a thud that reverberated through the thumping hearts of the Crimson Fang’s mbers.

The cultivator looked down, at his arm and sword, already on the floor, then back at Alia.

She was already gone, her body moving through the new wave like a killing machine.

The cultivator opened his mouth but no words ca out.

It was at that mont, he realized.

His body slid apart from the throat downward.

"Why are there this many?" Alia asked, clicking her tongue.

She was trying to reserve her aether, so she refrained from using it here.

But seeing as they were still pouring out of the gate, she reconsidered.

Her body shot from where she was, appearing in front of the gate in a single step.

"This seems to be the rest," she muttered calmly.

She brought her katana in front of her slowly.

Her fingers began to trail along its edges.

Wherever her finger passed, aether flared, till it reached the tip.

In a single, clean strike, she swung, a wide, horizontal cleave.

An arc of aether followed its path, tearing through flesh and bricks alike.

In re monts, the once crowded place, filled with people, had been reduced to a cetery.

"There are lots of cleaning up to do after this fight," Alia said, looking at the pile of bodies and the road painted in blood.

She turned her attention back to the ones already inside.

They were closing in, surrounding Alia from all sides.

A quiet laughter ca from her as she looked through their ranks.

"The irony. They think they have surrounded ."

Those words drifted through the air, calm and gentle, even lingering long enough to bear witness to the carnage that ca after.
