Chapter 1125: Full Upgrade
Planet Calendar Year 2052, June, Sumr.
The arrival of sumr brought a noticeable temperature rise to the Northern Hemisphere.
However, for the people surviving in the Ice Age after the apocalyptic cataclysm, this warming wasn't particularly significant.
Take Tianhai City on the southeastern coast, for example.
Whether it was minus sixty degrees or minus forty degrees, there wasn't much difference to them.
Half a year passed quickly, and Tianhai City entered a period of relative peace.
Zhang Yi and the people at ho were steadily improving their strength, exploring the greater potential of the superhuman abilities within them.
anwhile, Shelter 101 at Cloud Palace Manor finally completed its comprehensive upgrade after Lu Keran's ti-consuming and labor-intensive modifications.
From the outside, the overall black structure didn't seem to change much, just appearing darker and more jet-black from a distance because it was now constructed from her newest material—Yi tal.
This was a new type of material nad after Zhang Yi, possessing even higher attributes than Adamantine tal.
No current human technological ans could manufacture it.
Only Lu Keran, after his superhuman ability index reached 9,000 points, could construct it using his powerful superhuman abilities.
Zhang Yi had once conducted an experint; with the material now used for the shelter, even his full-power strike couldn't penetrate 50 centiters of its thickness.
As for the thickness of the entire shelter's walls, they had now been upgraded to a staggering 5 ters!
Just as Lu Keran had said, being able to manipulate the molecular structure of matter at the microscopic level, he could transform almost any substance.
So, Zhang Yi was also spared the trouble of searching for materials.
Of course, the greater the difference in material structure, the more energy required for the conversion.
Therefore, Lu Keran chose to convert ordinary tals into [Yi tal], then directly reinforce the entire shelter through particle fusion.
The shelter was no longer a simple stacking of materials but had been forged into an integrated structure.
This elevated its defensive capabilities to an utterly terrifying degree!
Coupled with the various heavy city-defense weapons obtained from Blizzard City, even if Zhang Yi wasn't ho and the others had to operate the defenses, even an average Epsilon-level superhuman would absolutely be unable to breach it in a short ti.
The shelter was now even safer, and Zhang Yi felt sowhat more at ease.
He just didn't slack off, still actively working to make his surroundings even more secure.
Inside the shelter, it was warm. Outside, the wind and snow continued, bone-chillingly cold.
But inside the shelter, the warm, bright yellow lights were as comfortable as sunlight. In the living room, the fireplace burned fiercely, flas dancing. In front of it lay a soft cat bed.
Hua Hua was curled up, lying comfortably in the cat bed.
It seed to be sleeping, but upon closer inspection, one could notice its eyes were open by an almost imperceptible slit.
The direction of its gaze was towards the living room sofa, where Zhang Yi, wearing dry pajamas, was flushed with excitent playing a ga, and Fatty Xu, looking smug.
While Zhang Yi far surpassed Fatty Xu in other areas—like combat power, brains, and looks—when it ca to gaming, Fatty Xu had reached a transcendent level. If Zhang Yi played versus gas against him, he basically never won.
Right now, Zhang Yi was competing with him in a ga called *Frog vs. Balloons*.
Zhang Yi always couldn't hold out for 100 rounds before the blimp balloons would break through his defenses.
Fatty Xu sat beside him with his arms crossed. Though he didn't say anything, his beaming, triumphant expression always made Zhang Yi want to punch him.
On one side of the living room, Totoro and Frog were playing together.
Both creatures loved music. Though they didn't share a language, having found a kindred spirit made them exceptionally happy.
So, the two always communicated through dancing and gesturing.
Having known Frog for a while now, everyone gradually learned so information about him.
Frog was once a musician in a third-rate band nad Qi Baokai.
After the Apocalypse, he spent his days curled up in a mud pit beneath the ice river.
However, he always intentionally avoided talking about the past and even disliked others calling him by his na.
So, even now, everyone called him Frog or Froggie.
For him, being a carefree frog was happier than being a human.
As for Totoro, their research on it still hadn't made much progress.
Its superhuman ability index was high, but its combat power was very low, only able to fight relying on instinct.
But as a pet, it was very good at it. It didn't take long before it beca the favorite cute pet among the won in the house, even more popular than Hua Hua.
Near the island-style kitchen on the other side of the living room, there was a mahjong table. Zhou Haii, Zhou Ke'er, Yang Siya, and Yang Xinxin sat around it playing mahjong.
As for Lu Keran, most of his ti was spent in the workshop, buried in improving his cha.
Old You, anwhile, was passionate about physical training.
He always felt his talent wasn't enough, so he had to work twice as hard to avoid dragging the others down.
Everything was peaceful and serene. If this situation could be maintained, it was what Zhang Yi and the others wanted to see.
However, things often go against one's wishes.
Zhang Yi tossed down the controller in his hand and scratched his head helplessly. "So annoying. This ga isn't fun at all."
Fatty Xu leaned in with a cheeky grin. "Boss, this is like the Nth ti you've said that. Every ti you encounter a ga you can't beat, you say the sa thing."
Zhang Yi's eyebrows shot up. "Nonsense! It's clearly the ga developers' fault. Gas are for leisure and entertainnt. Why make them so difficult? Isn't that putting the cart before the horse? Are people playing the ga, or is the ga playing people?"
Fatty Xu gulped and mumbled, "Clearly, you're just bad at it."
Without ceremony, Zhang Yi stretched out his big foot and kicked Fatty Xu's plump body, sending him sprawling onto the sofa.
"Not playing anymore! This stupid ga is so boring."
Zhang Yi deftly turned off the ga and opened his undefeated title, *Plants vs. Zombies*.
Fatty Xu simply lay back on the huge sofa, scratching his head.
"You know, Tianhai City has been so quiet lately! Oh right, there hasn't been any news from Blizzard City either. No wonder."
Hearing this, Zhang Yi gave him a deep look. "Don't jinx it. Had enough of the good life, huh? Have to go looking for trouble?"
Fatty Xu laughed heartily. "I was just saying it offhand, it's not real!"
The mont his words fell, Zhang Yi's communicator beside him suddenly emitted a "ding-dong" sound.
Fatty Xu's smile froze on his face. Zhang Yi silently picked up the communicator, then shot Fatty Xu a fierce glare.
"Zhu Zheng."
"Uh... It's not my fault, boss!"
Cold sweat was about to break out on Fatty Xu. He quickly and lightly slapped his own mouth twice, thinking to himself: It couldn't be this coincidental, could it?
Zhang Yi looked at the communicator in his hand and fell into deep thought.
Because at a ti like this, anything that required contacting him was definitely not a minor matter.
