With a nervous heart, Zhang Yi quickly approached that city.

As the distance grew shorter, the shock in his heart grew ever stronger.

Because what he saw were no longer buildings, but colossal mountain peaks!

The towering city walls, built from massive black stones, were actually five to six hundred ters high!

Zhang Yi abruptly stopped mid-air, not daring to fly any further forward.

If this place truly held an ancient, powerful civilization like the Qinling Mountains, then barging in so openly would easily get him discovered.

He observed the city's contents from afar, but with a single glance, he couldn't make out the full scope of it all.

This was a city built as if within an abyss, layer upon layer, from top to bottom, with no clear end in sight.

Light ca from the do above, where a hazy purple mist drifted like clouds across the sky, illuminating this vast world.

Surrounding the abyss, carved into the full circle of the cliff face, was an imnsely huge, multi-layered city.

The architecture was ancient, slightly more advanced than the Demon Kingdom, but still limited.

Clearly, this place wasn't technologically advanced.

Zhang Yi turned back, only then realizing that the spot he had appeared in was a wilderness on the outskirts of the giant city.

"The teleportation array is in such a remote area... It seems no one has co here for a very long ti."

The relationship between the Demon Kingdom and the Demon Abyss should be that of worshippers and gods.

And the reason the Demonic People were all so massive in stature was likely related to the Demon Abyss's power they had obtained.

Zhang Yi furrowed his brows. Right now, he was completely lost, knowing nothing about this place, let alone where to go.

He tried to contact the Lord of the Charnel Ground, hoping this local from the Snowy Plateau might have so information.

But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't reach him.

There were only two possibilities: either the Lord of the Charnel Ground and the others had gone far away, or sothing had happened to them.

Regardless, now that he was here, Zhang Yi naturally needed to investigate.

He cautiously sensed everything around him, wary of a sudden attack by a powerful superhuman.

With the instinct of [All Things Follow Traces], and the Hidden Dragon Armor's ability to detect nearby creatures, he wasn't too worried about being discovered.

After a few quick dashes, Zhang Yi finally entered this unimaginably huge ancient city.

"Clack!"

The combat boots on his feet landed on the ground, making a faint sound.

The next mont, a cacophony of noise reached Zhang Yi's ears.

When he looked up and saw everything around him, an icy chill ran down his spine, as if soone had doused him with cold water.

From the air, he couldn't make out the city's specific details, only a rough outline, let alone see the people inside the giant city.

But when he landed, he realized how terrifying the scene before him truly was.

This was a marketplace, bustling with people. The streets were lined with stalls. Children laughed and played as they ran past, getting harshly scolded when they bumped into pedestrians.

Soone was drinking tea at a roadside stall. Though Zhang Yi couldn't understand their language, their expressions showed they were happily chatting.

Everything seed so harmonious—if you ignored their size.

Zhang Yi stared at all of this, having to crane his neck high up just to look at them.

Every single person here was a staggering ten-plus ters tall!

Standing before them, to put it bluntly, even if Zhang Yi jumped, he could only barely touch their knees.

If these were humans, Zhang Yi would be no bigger than a small mouse.

This was a city of giants, and these were all true giants!

They weren't human, nor were they the enlarged people of the Demon Kingdom—this was clear from their appearance.

Their bodies were covered in fine scales, long tails dragged behind them, and jagged horns, like thorns, protruded from their heads.

And in the center of their foreheads, they had a single, horizontal eye.

It was only now that Zhang Yi understood why the Demonic People of the Demon Kingdom tattooed an eye in the center of their foreheads.

For the first ti, a fear of wanting to flee welled up in Zhang Yi's heart.

It was the kind of panic a human feels when entering a demon's realm.

It wasn't just him. The people hiding in Mu Yan's Shadow Space all had pale faces. The soldiers, especially, who thought about having to fight these beings, were sinking into deep despair.

"S-So... this is a demon? Is this the demon that the Demonic People, who caused chaos in the Snowy Region a thousand years ago, worshipped?"

"H-Heavens... Good heavens! By the Buddha, how are we supposed to fight a race like this?"

Any one of them could easily crush a human to death with a single stomp, even a trained soldier.

As Zhang Yi stood stunned, a shout suddenly reached his ears.

"Guyin Balu Temona Sang... Laien Baleite..."

A garbled, incomprehensible language that Zhang Yi couldn't understand at all. But the gruff voice still drew his gaze.

One look was all it took for his pupils to instantly contract.

It was a butcher shop. A butcher, as fat as a mountain of at, was holding a cleaver in one hand while loudly calling out to custors.

And hanging from tal hooks in front of the stall were dozens of naked human corpses.

They were all disemboweled, their organs and blood cleaned out, their necks pierced by iron hooks as they hung from the stall's rack.

On the blood-soaked at counter, the butcher had carefully cut up various parts and arranged them separately.

Lifeless human heads, rows of pale white arms, racks of ribs with at still attached—all neatly laid out, waiting for passersby to buy.

Inside the Shadow Space, even those who had seen their fair share of bloody scenes now had pale faces and felt their hair stand on end.

They weren't afraid of dead people, and they had witnessed the esoteric sect's sky burial ritual.

But this was the first ti they had ever seen humans being butchered like pigs, cattle, or sheep by a different race, then sold at a stall.

"Hell... This must be hell!"

So had already started praying to gods and Buddhas, their bodies trembling uncontrollably, regretting following the team here.

Even Yang Xinxin, usually the smartest and calst, was completely silent now.

The scene before her had exceeded her understanding.

After all, this was the first ti in her life she had truly co into contact with a society of advanced, non-human creatures.

And it was a society of creatures that preyed on humans.

They weren't brutal or monstrous; they looked similar to humans, lived civilized lives, and had their own social order.

But that very normalcy was what made the fear surge up from the depths of your heart.

Because the feeling they gave off was that humans were rely livestock they raised.
