Blood Sacrifice for the Entire City.

The mont Zhang Yi heard those words, a chill ran down his spine.

“What do you an? Are you saying that at the prince’s wedding they’re going to slaughter everyone in Nasha?”

Hua nervously tugged at Zhang Yi’s sleeve, shaking her head frantically as she said,

“No, they’re not killing Tri-Eyed Clan mbers, they’re killing us humans!”

Zhang Yi had already seen Tri-Eyed Clan mbers across Nasha grabbing knives, spears, and clubs and charging into the city.

They bent down and searched every nook and cranny for signs of humans.

Those who had sneaked out to watch the prince’s wedding were caught off guard and were brutally slaughtered.

So Tri-Eyed Clan mbers even carried specialized tools—thin, pointed devices like harpoons—each shot could pierce a human body.

They would then skewer the body on the spear like kebabs and move on to hunt the next human.

All of Nasha was now engulfed in a wailing, frenzied atmosphere.

Zhang Yi frowned, quickly positioned himself to protect Hua, and hid in a place unlikely to be discovered.

He asked, “What exactly is going on? Don’t be afraid. I’m here; no one will hurt you.”

Hua’s face was deathly pale, her whole body trembling.

After Zhang Yi cald her down for a mont, she spoke slowly:

“Nasha periodically purges the humans in the city. Usually it’s either because human reproduction has grown too rapid and their numbers beco unmanageable, or it coincides with a major festival.”

“This ritual, we humans call it ‘Blood Sacrifice for the Entire City.’ On this day, humans in Nasha lose their protection and can be slaughtered at will!”

Zhang Yi was surprised. “Oh? You normally receive protection?”

Hua shook her head. “Wild humans have no rights, but so humans are useful for labor and therefore receive so protection.”

Zhang Yi took a deep breath. “How long has this been going on?”

“I don’t know. It’s been around since before I was born. I’ve only lived through it twice—this is the second ti.”

Inside Shadow Space, biologist Zhou Ke’er gave her assessnt.

“This is to control the human population. Humans adapt too well to environnts, like cockroaches—impossible to completely wipe out. So they periodically cull them. There will always be survivors.”

Zhang Yi held Hua while the screams of his kind echoed in his ears, his eyes narrowing slowly.

“As I suspected, the big move has begun.”

He had been thinking how to stir up unrest in Nasha to draw out the enemy leaders’ combat forces.

Now the opportunity was right in front of him.

If the Blood Sacrifice for the Entire City forces all of Nasha’s people to participate in the purge, then the hundreds of elite fighters on Lord of the Charnel Ground’s team could not stay completely hidden—clashes would inevitably occur.

Zhang Yi thought for a mont, then told Hua, “Hua, I’ll get you sowhere safe with your own people.”

Hua’s face lit up. “Is it the Divine Human Cult’s shrine?”

Zhang Yi nodded with a smile, then had Mu Yan open the entrance to Shadow Space and placed Hua inside.

He instructed Zhou Ke’er and the others to take good care of her.

The mont Hua entered Shadow Space she looked around at the oddly dressed humans with surprise and curiosity.

There were mbers of Zhang Yi’s team and the Pagyi Family’s private soldiers led by Chodak.

Her eyes brightened.

“The divine envoy of the Divine Human Cult has co to rescue us!”

In Nasha.

Zhang Yi stood on high ground, overlooking the city built within the vast abyss.

Calling this place a living hell would not be an exaggeration.

All the Tri-Eyed Clan mbers were raging like lunatics, hunting the humans here.

They crushed open every burrow in the ground and even smashed walls and tore down beams to trap humans.

To them, humans were like rats—masters of hiding.

Yet humans were also a rare delicacy in their eyes, normally reserved for the upper echelons of Nasha’s society.

A human sold on the Black Market could even be exchanged for a Dwarf Hill slave—the sa creature that carried Jienasuo’s sedan chair.

Those creatures were strong and ideal for brute labor, but their at was sour and hardly eaten.

Zhang Yi watched everything happening in the city in silence.

He knew the unrest had already started, so he decided to add fuel to the fire.

He took out a sniper rifle from Dinsional Space—not the Thunderbolt, but a silenced sniper rifle.

Thunderbolt was too powerful; even with a suppressor its roar couldn’t be fully hidden.

Besides, against ordinary Tri-Eyed Clan mbers there was no need for Thunderbolt.

He climbed high, set up the rifle, and began killing Tri-Eyed Clan mbers.

His target selection was simple: any Tri-Eyed Clan mber who appeared in his sights could be killed.

Although these creatures had a degree of civilization, they were not his kind, so he felt no moral burden in killing them.

“Pff!” “Pff!” “Pff!” “Pff!” “Pff!” “Pff!” “Pff!” “Pff!” “Pff!” “Pff!” “Pff!” “Pff!”

He reloaded at lightning speed, bullets finding the Tri-Eyed Clan mbers’ heads.

The tiny bullets looked like embroidery needles against their huge bodies, like ant eggs in size.

But each was laced with poison.

Originally the toxin would kill through blood loss sealing the airway, but because of their massive size it took ti to take effect.

For that reason, a hit victim would feel only a slight prick as if bitten by a bug and would not pay it any mind, often continuing the hunt in excitent.

But within thirty seconds the toxin spread through their blood and would swiftly take their lives.

Gradually, more and more giant bodies fell in the streets.

“Boom!”

One massive corpse after another collapsed like mountains. At first no one noticed, thinking they simply tripped from haste.

After all, how could hunting a bunch of rats cause fatalities?

But then people realized sothing was wrong.

More bodies kept dropping, and when they rolled the fallen over they found them already dead!

“Ahhh!!!”

A woman, hunting with a frying pan, scread in terror.

“What’s happening? Why are people dying?”

“Could it be those hairless rats?”

“Impossible. Those weak things, how could they fight back? They can’t possibly kill us humans.”

Before she finished speaking, a sharp pain struck her temple as if a needle pricked it.

She touched her hand and found it stained with blood.

She didn’t pay much attention and tried to keep moving forward, but after taking two unsteady steps, everything went black and she collapsed to the ground with a thud!
