Chapter 216: Chapter 216: Could Lin Fei Be an Alien? (Four Updates, Please Bookmark!)
“Madam Ye, why not let Dr. Lin treat the old secretary, with Miss Li accompanying him inside? If there’s any mishap, Miss Li can co out and inform everyone. With our combined efforts, surely nothing will go wrong.” At this mont, Dean Li suddenly suggested to Ye Qin.
“Madam Ye, we can also use our positions as deans to assure you. If Lin Fei treats the old secretary and anything goes amiss, we are willing to resign from our positions as deans.” After exchanging glances, Dean Zhou, Dean Chen, and Dean Zheng collectively spoke to Ye Qin.
Ye Qin’s face showed a hint of hesitation.
If it weren’t for Li Ke’s earlier words, making her realize that even Huadu’s dicine King, Dong Qingshan, couldn’t ensure her father’s awakening, she might have adamantly opposed Lin Fei treating her father.
But now it’s different. Her father might wake up in a year, but he might also never wake up.
This threw her mind into chaos.
“Wife, let Lin Fei treat Dad! I trust my daughter; she surely wants her grandpa to wake up soon. I also trust Deans Zhou and the other two; their recomndation of Lin Fei at the risk of their positions ans he can surely heal Dad!” At this ti, Li Hong gently and calmly spoke to his indecisive wife, Ye Qin.
Although Lin Fei was greatly doubted by everyone, Li Hong, like his daughter, had an inexplicable trust in the young Lin Fei.
Li Hong always felt that Lin Fei had a quality that other doctors didn’t have. Even if he just stood there and said nothing, he exuded confidence.
Listening to her husband, Ye Qin muttered blankly, “But, can he really do it?”
Before Li Hong could reply, Lin Fei’s voice rang out: “Auntie, if you’re worried, I can sign an agreent with you. The agreent will state that I, Lin Fei, guarantee 100% that after three hours of treatnt, the old secretary will wake up.
If the old secretary does not wake up, or if there’s any mishap, I’m willing to resign from my position as chief physician at three hospitals and even surrender myself for malpractice. Does that ease your concerns?”
A 100% cure?
Signing an agreent?
If he can’t cure, he’ll resign as chief physician and surrender himself?
Everyone was taken aback by Lin Fei’s words.
Dong Qingshan, Dean Li, Dean Zhou, Dean Chen, Dean Zheng, and others could scarcely believe their ears. None of them dared to guarantee such a promise of a 100% cure for the old secretary.
“Saving people is like putting out a fire; for patients, choosing the optimal ti for treatnt gives them hope for life. Auntie, I hope you agree quickly so I can begin the treatnt soon.” Lin Fei looked at Ye Qin with a touch of earnest appeal in his gaze.
Ye Qin looked at Lin Fei. Although she always hoped Shen Tao and Li Ke would be together and disliked Lin Fei,
she beca extrely angry upon hearing that Lin Fei was with other girls.
But at this mont, even if she was disgusted and resentful towards Lin Fei, seeing the fervor in his eyes for saving a life, she had no reason to oppose.
“You can go in! No need to sign the agreent. If you can’t save my father, resigning and surrendering yourself is aningless. I hope you can truly save my father…” Ye Qin did not refuse any longer and said wearily.
Then, she looked at Li Hong and said, “Husband, let’s go to the Great Buddha Temple to pray for our father.”
The Great Buddha Temple is a historic temple in the center of Huadu City, bustling with incense and where citizens often go for blessings and disaster relief.
It’s only about a half-hour drive from the Eighth Hospital.
Li Hong nodded to his wife, “Okay, I’ll go with you.”
Then, Li Hong turned to Lin Fei and Li Ke and said, “I’ll leave this to you.”
Lin Fei and Li Ke nodded to Li Hong.
Li Hong and Ye Qin left.
Dean Li said to Lin Fei, “Dr. Lin, please enter the operating room to treat the old secretary as soon as possible!”
Lin Fei nodded and said to Li Ke, “Let’s go in!”
Under the gaze of the deans and experts, Lin Fei and Lin Ke pushed open the door to the operating room and went in.
Click.
The door to the operating room closed with a click, locked from the inside.
Everyone could only wait outside the operating room for the outco of the treatnt.
Inside the operating room.
On the operating table lay an elderly man wearing a white-striped hospital gown.
Under the surgical light, Lin Fei saw Li Ke’s grandfather for the first ti, the old secretary, a state leader known for his love for the people.
The old secretary’s hair was white, even his eyebrows were faintly white, and the years had engraved wrinkles on his face. His eyes were tightly closed, as if in a deep sleep.
Even in deep coma, there was an aura of righteousness between his brows, earning respect.
Looking at her white-haired, closed-eyed grandfather on the surgical table, tears welled up in Li Ke’s eyes.
Lin Fei gently patted her shoulder and said, “Li Ke, don’t be sad. Your grandfather is a public servant. I, Lin Fei, will do everything to wake your grandfather.”
Li Ke looked up with tearful eyes, gazing at Lin Fei with imnse trust, and nodded, “Lin Fei, I believe you can wake my grandfather.”
But Lin Fei suddenly spoke very seriously to Li Ke, “Li Ke, before I treat your grandfather, I need you to promise sothing.”
Li Ke curiously asked, “Lin Fei, what do you want to promise?”
Lin Fei said, “During my treatnt of your grandfather, no matter what you see, don’t panic, don’t alert those outside, and don’t tell anyone what you see. Can you promise that?”
Li Ke was puzzled, not understanding why Lin Fei would say such a thing, but her trust in Lin Fei was absolute, so she nodded to him, “Yes, I promise you. No matter what I see, I’ll stay calm and won’t tell anyone.”
Only then did Lin Fei feel reassured, saying to Li Ke, “Li Ke, you might have questions in your mind, but I can only tell you everything after treating your grandfather. Rember what you’ve promised ; otherwise, I can’t wake your grandfather either.”
Though still confused, Li Ke agreed, “I’ll rember what you’ve promised.”
Then Lin Fei approached the operating table and began treating the old secretary.
A few minutes later, Li Ke’s eyes were filled with terror as she watched Lin Fei treating her grandfather. She could hardly believe he was the Lin Fei she knew.
At that mont, Lin Fei’s entire body was aglow with flashes of lightning, especially his hands, which were filled with coursing electricity, akin to writhing electric snakes.
As Lin Fei placed his hands on the old man’s temples, his entire head was enveloped in electricity.
It was like a scene from a sci-fi movie where an alien is about to dissect and study a human brain.
Li Ke was so scared that her face turned pale, unable to scream or move, as if her feet were rooted to the ground.
Her mind was in turmoil: Could Lin Fei be an alien?
