"Cousin, cousin, you have to stand up for !"
Lin Chuhong's face lit up with delight when she saw Zhou Hao.
She ran up, grabbed his arm, and whined coquettishly.
Zhou Hao was exasperated.
He'd never been able to handle this younger cousin of his, not since they were children. In the past, he would have unhesitatingly agreed to step forward for her.
But now, he couldn't help but glance at the man in white.
Lin Chuhong, however, was an expert at reading people. The mont Zhou Hao's eyes shifted, her gaze followed and landed on the man in white.
Her eyes lit up.
'So handso! And judging from my cousin's expression, this man's status must be high, at least as high as Cousin Hao's. But that woman next to him... Hmph, with a face like that, she must be another vixen!'
But whatever Lin Chuhong was thinking, she didn't let it show on her face.
For the mont, she hadn't yet figured out the identities of the man in white and the woman in red.
Lin Chuhong wasn't stupid.
Especially not after the setback she'd just suffered.
"Since your cousin is in trouble, let's go take a look,"
the man in white said nonchalantly.
Normally, he wouldn't get involved in sothing like this. But he held Zhou Hao in high regard, and this little cousin who had run over seed rather cute.
In his eyes, she didn't seem like the type to stir up trouble.
The main reason, however, was that Lin Chuhong's admiring gaze from a mont ago had given his ego a very satisfying boost.
Of course, that was as far as it went.
Compared to Junior Sister Qin beside him, this little slip of a girl was far inferior in terms of strength, temperant, and background.
There was no way she could truly capture his heart.
'Then again, if I handle this well, it's a chance to show Junior Sister Qin my capabilities, to let her see another side of .'
'It's an excellent opportunity, in fact.'
"Thank you, you... Senior Brother in white!"
But the words had barely left his lips when Lin Chuhong reacted, even before Zhou Hao could.
Her words left Zhou Hao not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
"This is Senior Brother Lux, and that is Senior Sister Qin. They are both True Disciples, so don't address them incorrectly."
Zhou Hao explained.
"Yes, thank you, Senior Brother Lux. And... Senior Sister Qin."
Lin Chuhong said, her expression one of utter shock.
If she had felt a trace of jealousy toward the woman in red before, it was now completely gone.
But her gaze toward Senior Brother Lux in white beca even more ardent.
'If I could be with Senior Brother Lux, wouldn't that be a thousand tis better than being with that coward, Lü Tianfeng?'
As her mind raced with such thoughts,
the group of four began to head toward the Outer Mansion.
Along the way, Zhou Hao asked for the details of what had happened.
Naturally, Lin Chuhong wasn't about to admit that she was the one who had started the provocation.
Instead, she pushed all the bla onto them, claiming that Yun'Er and Yang Xiao were new disciples—in fact, she still believed they were.
As for the cause of the conflict, Lin Chuhong claid that Yang Xiao and Yun'Er were arrogant bullies who threw their weight around, refusing to let anyone else into the Library Pavilion simply because they wanted to use it themselves.
Coupled with her talent for spinning lies,
her story left Zhou Hao and the others thoroughly displeased.
'Two new disciples, acting so tyrannically!'
'They must be the children of so Prince from the Secular Kingdoms, co to the Purple Sun Sect without knowing how to behave.'
'They're courting death.'
In fact, such incidents were not uncommon, so both Zhou Hao and the white-robed Senior Brother Lux believed her instantly.
Even Senior Sister Qin in red seed to accept it without question, believing at least part of the story.
She just wasn't as obvious about it as the two n were.
"Junior Brother Zhou, I'll leave this matter to you. I, Lux Wentian, would like to see for myself just how arrogant these newcors are, daring to act this way right after joining the Sect."
Soon, the group of four arrived outside the Library Pavilion.
The True Disciple, Lux Wentian, didn't go inside.
He felt it was beneath his dignity.
As the Sect Leader's Direct Disciple and the First True Inheritor of the Purple Sun Sect,
Lux Wentian had at least that much pride.
It wasn't just him; Qin Yan, dressed in red, felt the sa way.
She had no intention of going inside either.
Seeing this, Lin Chuhong wasn't disappointed in the slightest; in fact, she was secretly delighted.
She pulled Zhou Hao along and entered the Outer Mansion's Library Pavilion.
The Cyan-robed Steward on guard outside naturally didn't stop them. He could see that Zhou Hao carried the token of a Core Disciple.
Inner Core Disciples were destined to beco the future upper echelon of the Sect.
If one managed to beco a True Disciple, becoming a Sect Elder in the future was practically guaranteed.
The Cyan-robed Steward certainly wasn't about to stop them.
He was aware of the incident that had occurred earlier,
and he knew he couldn't afford to offend any of the people involved.
So, naturally, it was best to pretend he knew nothing.
"Cousin, that's them! That woman, with her vixen face, not only tried to throw us out, she even hit ! Look, my face is all swollen! Oh, and him! He's even more arrogant!"
The mont she entered, Lin Chuhong started railing at Yun'Er and Yang Xiao, pointing a finger at them.
Yang Xiao, who had been reading this whole ti, finally set down his book.
There hadn't been much ti, and he was far from finished with many of the books.
But Yang Xiao had already found much of what he was looking for.
For now, however, dealing with this woman was the proper course of action.
"Which Secular Kingdom are you from? Have you not learned the rules of the Purple Sun Sect? The fact that you're still in the Outer Mansion should tell you that you aren't yet considered true mbers of the Purple Sun Sect. How dare you act so recklessly? Are you trying to bring disaster upon your families?"
Zhou Hao's face was a mask of righteous indignation,
he barked at Yang Xiao.
Yun'Er was, after all, a woman—and an exceptionally beautiful one at that.
She also possessed a unique aura, one that even Senior Sister Qin outside couldn't possibly compare to.
So, Zhou Hao naturally chose to bypass her.
Instead, he focused his attack on Yang Xiao.
"I'd be very interested to see how you think I'm going to bring disaster upon my family."
Yang Xiao chuckled softly.
'Such a talent for twisting right and wrong.'
'These two are quite good at it, aren't they?'
"Cousin, look! Even with you here, he's still so arrogant! An Outer Disciple who doesn't even kneel and salute an Inner Core Disciple upon seeing one. You tell , is that in line with the rules?"
Lin Chuhong exclaid smugly, as if she'd caught Yang Xiao red-handed.
At her words, a chill went through the hearts of the spectating Outer Disciples who had gathered around.
Even Lü Tianfeng, who had been burying his head in the sand like an ostrich, sidled over.
However, after eting Lux Wentian, Lin Chuhong was now giving him the cold shoulder.
As for Zhou Hao, he looked down on Lü Tianfeng even more.
If not for the fact that he was with his cousin, Zhou Hao wouldn't have even spared him a glance.
'A re Outer Disciple is nothing.'
"Make kneel to him?"
Yang Xiao laughed. "You know, soone else tried to make kneel to them before. Do you know what happened to them?"
These words made Zhou Hao pause.
Although he didn't think a new disciple could possibly have much power,
the sheer nerve of the man before him was astounding.
He subconsciously took a closer look at Yang Xiao.
He hadn't gotten a good look at the man when he'd first walked in.
But now, as he did...
Zhou Hao's heart trembled.
'It's him! How can it be him?'
His knees couldn't help but buckle.
Zhou Hao knelt!
