"Brother Yang, that... that was too fast."

Lu Fangliang had a wry smile on his face.

Originally, he thought another bitter battle was about to begin.

But he never expected that in the blink of an eye, these dozen or so experts, who seed extraordinarily powerful, would all die at Yang Xiao's hands. It was truly a bit hard to believe.

"They underestimated their enemy. If they had been more cautious, hadn't gotten so close, and hadn't attacked so recklessly, it might have actually taken so effort on my part. Unfortunately for them, their joint Cultivation Technique was too weak and full of openings, which is why I could shatter it in a single blow."

Yang Xiao said this rather nonchalantly.

But that was what *he* thought.

Lu Fangliang certainly didn't think so.

He knew perfectly well how terrifying the combined force of those dozen-plus experts had been.

Under those circumstances, he hadn't been able to see any openings at all.

Yet, Yang Xiao had.

And not only that, he had crushed them in one move and then, seizing the mont their auras were in disarray, killed all thirteen of them at lightning speed.

Such thods.

Lu Fangliang knew he wasn't capable of such a feat.

Combined with Yang Xiao's previous display of Alchemy skills, he felt that the gap between them was just too vast.

A feeling of inferiority couldn't help but rise in his heart.

"This ti, another dozen or so High-Tier Martial Saints have died. The Profound Celestial Sect must have suffered a great loss of Primordial Qi by now, right?"

Lu Fangliang said.

"Exactly. Kick them while they're down! Let's go now."

Yang Xiao gave a sharp command.

He was the first to board the Purple Gold Cloud Peng Beast.

This ti, the Profound Celestial Sect had lost a total of twenty-seven High-Tier Martial Saints at their hands. anwhile, not only had he comprehended the Second Layer of the Star Secret Pattern—which, despite being incomplete, still greatly boosted his strength—

he had also comprehended the Star Flash Step Technique.

Now, even his recently transford Bloodthirsty Sword had been promoted to a Middle Grade Spirit Weapon. Although it hadn't developed any new characteristics yet, its power was far greater.

It could amplify his killing power by thirty percent.

Don't underestimate that thirty percent. One had to rember that the True Greater Yang Fire in Yang Xiao's body was at the Peak of Eighth Grade, just a hair's breadth away from advancing to the Seventh Grade.

At such a level, it was already more than ten tis more terrifying than the True Gang of a Peak Martial Saint.

In terms of quantity, with the one thousand two hundred and ninety-six acupoints opened by the Starburst Skill, Yang Xiao wasn't lacking either.

As for his Spiritual Level, although it had fallen sowhat, his Observing Micro High Peak was still beyond that of most Peak Martial Saints.

It could be said without a hint of exaggeration that Yang Xiao's current overall strength was no less than any Peak Martial Saint, and perhaps even greater.

Paired with his Spirit Weapon, he could almost instantly kill a Peak Martial Saint.

With such strength, he naturally had nothing left to fear.

And while Lu Fangliang wasn't as strong as him, with an unstoppable Talent Treasure Technique like the Greater Yang God Arrow and his mastery of the Purple Fla Dragon Spear, his strength was definitely not inferior to that of a High-Tier Martial Saint.

With two such grim reapers descending upon the Profound Celestial Sect, the entire Profound Celestial Sect was probably about to be turned upside down.

And in fact, even before Yang Xiao and Lu Fangliang arrived, Xuan Shangqing, who was waiting quietly for news in his pitch-black study, felt his expression change drastically.

Because he had sensed it—the thirteen Shadow Guards he had sent out, the hidden foundation of his Xuan Family and the very arm with which he ruled the entire Profound Celestial Sect, had, just a mont ago, all perished.

This left Xuan Shangqing both shocked and panicked.

"Who is it?! Who dares to move against my Xuan Family? Could it be... that soone from the Lu Family has really made a move?"

Xuan Shangqing's face twisted.

His usual dignity and composure were completely gone.

He stood up, pacing back and forth in his study.

His restless state of mind was on full display.

An unknown amount of ti passed.

He stopped.

It seed he had finally made a decision.

A decision that brought a look of both pain and fear to his face.

But in the end, he made it nonetheless.

"This is the only way now."

With a soft sigh, Xuan Shangqing left the study and walked to a remote courtyard within the Profound Celestial Sect's residence.

This courtyard was very ordinary and very remote.

It didn't look at all like the residence of an esteed person.

Although this was just a residence and not the main Sect, with the Profound Celestial Sect's resources, building a fine courtyard would have been a trivial matter.

Take the High-Tier Martial Saints from before.

Each and every one of them lived in an exquisitely beautiful courtyard.

In terms of size and decoration, their residences were far superior to this one.

Even Xuan Shangqing himself, while his own Sect Leader's courtyard wasn't overly extravagant, it still possessed a dignified and imposing air.

However, only Xuan Shangqing knew that the person living in this most ordinary-looking courtyard was actually the most powerful and influential person in their Profound Celestial Sect.

"Ancestor, Shangqing requests an audience."

Knocking softly on the door, Xuan Shangqing spoke in a low voice.

His voice was as quiet as an ant's whisper.

An outsider wouldn't have heard it.

But Xuan Shangqing knew that the person inside most certainly could.

"Co in."

A faint voice drifted into Xuan Shangqing's ears.

Xuan Shangqing breathed a small sigh of relief, gently pushed the door open, and walked inside.

His every move was incredibly cautious, as if he were afraid of using too much force and breaking the door.

It was the sa as he walked along the path.

It was as if he were afraid that one heavy step might shatter the bluestone tiles beneath his feet.

And so, with the utmost caution, Xuan Shangqing entered the main chamber.

There, a man in green robes stood with his back to him.

And in the center of the main hall hung a painting.

The painting depicted a woman.

More precisely, the back of a woman.

Though it was only her back, her figure was so graceful and elegant that once you laid eyes on it, you couldn't seem to look away.

A curiosity would stir in your heart, making you desperate to see what the woman's face looked like.

"Back then, I missed my chance with this woman and missed a heaven-sent opportunity. Now, all I can do is sigh at this painting. Shangqing, are you here because it's ti to kill that old fellow from the Pure Yang Sword Sect?"

The man in green robes turned around.

He revealed a handso, extraordinary face that showed no signs of age.

He asked Xuan Shangqing.

The turn startled Xuan Shangqing from his trance. He lowered his head slightly and shook it. "Ancestor, sothing has gone wrong."

"Gone wrong?"

The man in green robes frowned.

A fraction of his aura instantly leaked out.

Just a fraction.

And it was enough to make Xuan Shangqing's entire body go weak, almost causing him to collapse to his knees.

Fortunately, the aura was quickly retracted.

The man's expression also returned to its previous calm. "Speak. Tell exactly what happened."

Xuan Shangqing imdiately recounted everything that had happened.

When he learned that all of this was because they were trying to kill a young man nad Yang Xiao, and that it had cost the Profound Celestial Sect twenty-seven High-Tier Martial Saints, thirteen of whom were Shadow Guards, the face of the man in green robes instantly darkened.

"For a blunder like this, why don't you just go and die?"

The cold eyes and icy words made Xuan Shangqing, the Sect Leader, go weak in the knees. He knelt on the ground, silent.

After a long ti, the man in green robes finally said, "Forget it. I will resolve this matter personally. You make the preparations and tell Zhan'Er to pay close attention. The plan for the Northern Wilderness Sword Mansion cannot afford any mistakes."

"Yes."

Xuan Shangqing replied respectfully.

"You may leave."

He waved his hand.

Xuan Shangqing obediently retreated.

The man in green robes, however, took out a Blood Coffin.

"One raises an army for a thousand days to use it for a single mont. Xue Yi, I need you to do sothing..."
