The Demon was quite large. It swam through the Sea of Blood, and the surrounding acrid blood-water and poisonous fog dispersed around it.

The group sat on the Demon's back, their gazes fixed on the young man standing on its head, all with complicated expressions.

This poisonous Sea of Blood had left everyone completely baffled. Even Ding Yuanshan and Hong Renjie couldn't see through its mysteries and were at a loss.

Yet, of all people, the one they looked down on the most, Hong Yu, had discovered the Demon's tracks. More importantly, he sohow possessed a way to control the monster beneath them.

To them, this was simply unbelievable.

"This Sea of Blood doesn't seem so dangerous after all!"

Hong Long had a disdainful look on his face. He swung a long, slender blade in his hand, slicing it toward the blood-water.

The mont the blade, forged from Thousand-refined Steel, touched the Sea of Blood, it let out a "TSSSSSS" sound. In the blink of an eye, the blade, originally about one and a half ters long, was reduced to only half a ter.

The rest of it had been completely corroded away by the blood-water. Hong Long hurriedly dropped the blade, his breathing growing ragged.

"Damn, this blood-water is fucking powerful!"

Hong Long couldn't help but take two steps back, trying to put as much distance as possible between himself and the Sea of Blood.

He stroked the Demon's hard shell. The way it moved through the Sea of Blood completely unhindered made Hong Long even more wary.

He glanced sideways at the grim-faced Hong Renjie and whispered, "Brother Jie, this kid is too strange."

Hong Renjie waved his hand dismissively. "He's a dead man walking. Don't worry about it."

"You an?"

Hong Long's eyes narrowed as he asked tentatively.

Hong Renjie shot a sidelong glance at Hong Yu, his voice chillingly cold. "Inside the fifth floor of the Eight Desolates Mansion, there will inevitably be fights over treasures. Blades and spears have no eyes. If one or two lives are lost by 'accident,' the Sect won't investigate!"

"I understand!"

Hong Long nodded, a sinister, ghost-like smile on his face.

Hong Yu, unaware of their conspiracy, was thinking about Huhu. He muttered to himself, 'This little guy, Huhu, is getting more and more absurdly powerful. Even the potent poison in the Sea of Blood can't harm it…'

Thinking of the little guy's greedy, rchant-like behavior, Hong Yu couldn't help but find it amusing.

...

On the far shore of the Sea of Blood, the vast and terribly corrosive blood-water surged.

In the middle of the churning blood-water, a small, black-and-white furry beast paddled its four limbs, having the ti of its life.

When the surrounding blood-water, capable of instantly lting Thousand-refined Steel, ca near the Little Beast Huhu, it was as if it had t so invisible barrier. The water automatically parted, not even managing to dampen a single one of Huhu's hairs.

"Huhu?"

A glint of light flashed in the little creature's crystal-like eyes as it suddenly spotted land.

It imdiately paddled its paws, climbing onto the shore.

It stood up on its furry body, blinked, raised its left paw to scratch its ear, and made a puzzled sound. "Huhu?"

The little creature slowly rolled forward.

"Huhu?"

After advancing a good sixty or seventy ters, Huhu finally stopped.

Before it stood a high platform, over a hundred square ters in size.

On top of the platform, more than thirty wooden chests were arranged in rows.

Huhu wiggled its plump, furry body up to the first wooden chest and opened it. With a "SHING," a brilliant, gem-like radiance burst forth, bathing Huhu's body in a golden light, making it look like an auspicious beast forged from pure gold!

The chest was filled to the brim with treasure. In terms of value, it was likely worth no less than two or three hundred million Gold Coins.

And there were over thirty such Treasure Chests!

"Huu..."

Its two eyes shone with a greedy, money-grubbing light, and a glistening trail of drool slid from the corner of its mouth.

The little creature subconsciously raised its left paw, wiped the drool from its mouth, and let out a sound like a goofy laugh, "Hehehe."

"Hu!"

The little creature waved its paw, and the Treasure Chest before it vanished.

Repeating the process, the little creature took all thirty-plus Treasure Chests in the blink of an eye, absorbing them into its personal space.

"Huhu?"

The Little Beast Huhu's eyes went wide as it stared at the empty platform. It lifted its left paw slightly, stuck a small claw into its mouth, and its gem-like eyes revealed a cunning glint.

After a while...

Only three wooden chests remained on the platform, arranged side-by-side, with a fourth one set slightly apart.

...

Hong Yu's group finally landed on the other side of the Sea of Blood.

"This first trial was unexpectedly easy!"

Before long, they arrived at the flat ground where the treasures were placed.

The first thing they saw were four lonely wooden chests.

The little creature silently appeared at Hong Yu's side.

Hong Yu quickly pulled the little creature into the Profound Celestial Tower and asked it through his consciousness, 'Huhu, didn't I tell you to leave three? Why did you leave four?'

"Huhu-hu!"

The cute little beast gesticulated wildly, wiggling its eyebrows and winking.

"A gift?"

Hong Yu's eyes widened. He couldn't figure out where Huhu got so many eccentric ideas. He gave a wry smile. 'I understand you less and less…'

Hong Yu gave up and returned his consciousness to his body.

By now, the group had gathered around the four wooden chests, frowning.

"Huh? There are exactly four chests. We'll take these first three!"

Hong Yu laughed, beckoning Ling Tian and Tie Shou forward. Each of them chose a wooden chest.

The three opened their chests, and a brilliant, gem-like radiance lit up the area.

"HISS!"

A wave of sharp gasps swept through the crowd.

The three chests... each one contained treasures worth no less than three hundred million!

"GULP!"

The experts gulped, unable to hide the greed in their eyes. Even powerful cultivators like Hong Renjie and Ding Yuanshan couldn't help but raise their eyebrows at the sight of several hundred million Gold Coins, a greedy and fervent light flickering in the depths of their eyes.

Hong Yu raised an eyebrow. "Master Ding, Senior Brother Hong, you're not going back on your word, are you?"

"Hmph, do you think I, Ding, am the kind of petty person who goes back on his word?" Ding Yuanshan snorted coldly.

Hong Renjie also shook his head. "I certainly wouldn't break my promise over such a paltry sum."

Though their words were noble, everyone could see that their gazes had not once moved away from the three wooden chests.

It was obvious they coveted this batch of treasure, but to save face, they had to painfully watch Hong Yu's group of three take all the spoils!

Inevitably, dozens of fervent gazes converged on the last chest.

"Those three have chests with treasures worth hundreds of millions. This chest is obviously a bit bigger than theirs, so how much treasure could be inside?"

"What's the use no matter how much treasure is inside? Look at the tense atmosphere between Hong Renjie and Master Ding. They clearly won't let anyone else interfere with the contest for this last Treasure Chest!"

"Look, the two of them are facing off!"

The chattering crowd was instantly captivated by these words.

All eyes focused on Hong Renjie and Ding Yuanshan.

Ding Yuanshan's cold gaze swept over. "Hong Renjie," he said indifferently, "disciples of your Cyan Nether Sword Sect took the first three Treasure Chests. Are you trying to take the last one for yourself, too? Aren't you getting a little too greedy?"

"Hmph, they only got those three Treasure Chests because you agreed to it," Hong Renjie said, his face gloomy as he pressed his palm onto the chest.

Ding Yuanshan made the sa move.

The two stood on either side of the wooden chest, both with a hand pressed upon it, neither willing to back down an inch.

"So you're determined to fight for it?" Ding Yuanshan said with a frown.

Hong Renjie sneered, "I wouldn't mind if you gave up the fight!"

"Hmph, then let's see who's stronger!"

With a cold shout, they both attacked each other at the sa ti.

"Thunderous Force!"

Hong Renjie's Martial Skill, Thunderous Force, was imposing, making him look like a Thunder Battle God. His palm instantly beca a blur of ethereal light in the air.

Every line on his palm seed like a Thunder Dragon or an electric serpent writhing.

"CRACKLE... CRACKLE..." Flashes of thunder flickered in and out of view, intertwining and colliding, stirring up a furious Power of Primordial Spirit.

"Mountain-Cracking Stone-Splitting!"

Ding Yuanshan's attack was powerful and heavy.

His punch ca crashing down like a toppling mountain, its imnse force causing a series of loud booms from compressed and exploding air, enough to make one's scalp tingle and heart pound in fear!

"BOOM!"

The collision of their powerful Palm Forces created a strong shockwave.

Neither Hong Renjie nor Ding Yuanshan had used their full strength, but even so, the impact of this clash was by no ans weak.

It sent both of them stumbling back a good distance.

'Their strengths are actually on par with each other?'

A solemn look appeared on Tie Shou's face. "Hong Renjie... he truly is a genius worthy of competing with Brother Xin!"

"Senior Brother Tie Shou, what exactly is Hong Renjie's cultivation?" Hong Yu asked with a frown.

The enmity between him and Hong Renjie was irreconcilable; a showdown was inevitable. If he could learn more about his opponent's true strength, his chances of winning their future duel would naturally increase.

Tie Shou said, "Brother Xin once ntioned that Hong Renjie's combat power has already reached the Half-step Heavenly Soul Realm. If he achieves another breakthrough, he will officially condense his Celestial Soul and beco an expert of that realm!"

"Half-step Heavenly Soul Realm?"

Hong Yu sucked in a sharp breath of cold air.

Even though he had already guessed at Hong Renjie's strength, he still felt his heart pound in alarm.

His hands, hanging at his sides, clenched unconsciously, a fine layer of sweat forming on them. He felt the pressure on his shoulders growing heavier and heavier. 'I have to break through to the Earth Soul Realm as soon as possible, or I'll never be able to seize the initiative!'

Even if he broke through to the Earth Soul Realm, Hong Yu would be no match for a Half-step Heavenly Soul Realm expert.

However, only by breaking through to the Half-Step Earth Soul Realm could Hong Yu gain the power to protect himself!

Just then...

The exchange between Hong Renjie and Ding Yuanshan had temporarily concluded.

Hong Renjie had a slight advantage!

He looked indifferently at Ding Yuanshan, whose expression was dark and uncertain, and said coldly, "I told you this belongs to . No one can take what is mine!"

As he said this, Hong Renjie's icy gaze swept toward Hong Yu. Their eyes t, clashing in mid-air and igniting the fires of battle.

"Hmph!"

Hong Renjie snorted coldly.

He abruptly raised his hand, and a powerful suction force emanated from his palm, pulling the object toward him through the air in a dazzling display.

In Hong Renjie's mind, the chests belonging to Hong Yu's group contained treasures worth two or three hundred million, so they must be heavy. Thus, he used a great deal of force in this pull—enough suction to lift sothing weighing several thousand pounds.

Hong Renjie's face still wore an indifferent expression. The gentle breeze blew past, his black hair fluttering, his white robes whiter than snow. What a handso young man!

His right hand was raised, and the suction force pulled the wooden chest toward him.

But...

The wooden chest, which should have been filled with hundreds of millions in treasure and should have been very heavy, was instead extrely light.

Under the pull of this powerful suction, with a "WHOOSH," it shot toward him with incredible speed, like a goose feather caught in a storm.

Hong Renjie's face fell in shock. "What's going on?"

In the crowd, Hong Yu also blinked, a faint look of anticipation in his eyes...

'What on earth did Huhu leave in there?'
