The burly man spun around. He first sized up Hong Yu, then the flesh on his face twitched.
As far as he could recall, he knew every person of note in Xifeng City.
This young man before him was dressed plainly and, unlike the usual scions of Noble Families, had no guards. The man naturally didn't think much of Hong Yu and sneered, "Aren't you overstepping a bit? You dare ddle in the affairs of my West Wind Tower?"
"I don't care if it's the West Wind Tower or the East Wind Tower. I just can't stand by and watch you bully the weak."
Hong Yu said flatly, "He's just a child. Even if he did sothing wrong, you could have just kicked him out of your restaurant. Why be so vicious?"
"Damn it, does my West Wind Tower need you to butt in on how we do things?"
The burly man flew into a rage and tried to wrench his hand free.
But...
No matter how hard he struggled, Hong Yu's hand was like an iron clamp, holding him so tightly he couldn't budge at all.
Only then did the burly man's expression change. He gave a sinister sneer. "Tsk, tsk. So you're a trained fighter. No wonder you dare cause trouble at my West Wind Tower. Brothers, this one's tough! Get him!"
"Damn it, causing trouble in our West Wind Tower? Break his hands."
"Cripple him!"
The other n cracked their knuckles and charged forward.
"Look, the thugs from the West Wind Tower are bullying soone again!"
"That guy must be from out of town. He actually dares to ddle in the West Wind Tower's business?"
"Heh heh, last ti so self-righteous fellow from the Royal Capital tried to interfere with the West Wind Tower. In the end, he was beaten into a cripple and couldn't even make a sound..."
"Well, who told him to cross the young masters backing the West Wind Tower?"
People ca and went outside the West Wind Tower. Seeing such a scene seed to be a common occurrence, and many stopped to watch and murmur among themselves.
Facing the thugs' attack, Hong Yu's sharp, sword-like eyebrows twitched slightly. He let out a low shout, "Scram!"
That single shout was like a clap of thunder!
The three or four thugs who had been cracking their knuckles and boasting about teaching Hong Yu a lesson froze in their tracks. Their faces went pale and their legs grew weak. A foul, acrid sll even emanated from between one man's legs. The sound of DRIP. DRIP. DRIP. ca from his crotch as liquid hit the ground and splattered.
'This guy... Did Hong Yu really scare him so badly he pissed himself?'
"Wh-wh-who are you? What do you want? I'm telling you, this is the West Wind Tower..." The man Hong Yu had restrained finally realized he had ssed with the wrong person. His face paled, his confidence clearly gone.
Hong Yu shot him a cold glance and tossed him away.
Taking the little beggar's hand and brushing the dust off his clothes, Hong Yu smiled. "Does it hurt, little guy?"
"N-no, it doesn't hurt!"
The little beggar shook his head.
But his delicate features twitched slightly as the movent pulled at his wounds.
Hong Yu then studied the little boy more carefully. For so reason, he felt a stir in his heart and asked, "Little guy, tell your na."
"My na is Little Feng!"
the little beggar said.
Hong Yu noticed that although Little Feng's clothes were ragged, he spoke in a thodical and clear manner, giving off a calm and composed air.
This was definitely not the bearing a little beggar should have!
Or perhaps...
This wasn't the kind of bearing a child from an ordinary family could possess at all.
Hong Yu raised an eyebrow. On a whim, he took Little Feng's hand and walked toward the West Wind Tower. "Co on, Little Feng. I'll take you inside for a good al!"
"Big Brother, I can't go in!"
Little Feng stopped, raised his chin slightly, and looked at Hong Yu earnestly. "There's a big brother inside who really hates . He said he'll beat every ti he sees , and that anyone who helps is his enemy. Big Brother, if I go in with you, I'll cause trouble for you. I can't get you involved."
Hong Yu's body trembled slightly.
Soone would say such vicious things to such a kind and sensible child?
Hong Yu took a deep breath. "Don't be afraid, Little Feng. Co inside with . No one will dare to touch you."
"But, Big Brother..."
Little Feng was still hesitant.
Hong Yu pretended to be angry. "If you don't co inside with , Little Feng, then I won't buy anything for your mother to eat!"
"Big Brother, you're willing to buy food for my mother?" Little Feng's eyes lit up.
Seeing the hope and excitent sparkling in Little Feng's clear eyes, Hong Yu sighed softly.
'What an adorable little kid!'
'The ntion of buying food for his mother made him happier than the promise of a lavish feast for himself.'
He nodded seriously. "Yes. But first, you have to eat your fill. Only then will I buy food for your mother!"
"This... Okay, then!"
Little Feng hesitated for a mont before clenching his jaw and agreeing.
Hong Yu smiled, took Little Feng's hand, and strode past the several stunned doorn into the West Wind Tower.
As soon as they entered the West Wind Tower, they were t with a lively and magnificent atmosphere.
But when the boisterous guests in the main hall saw Hong Yu leading Little Feng inside, they all fell silent, their gazes on Hong Yu complex. So were worried, so were gloating, and so were just waiting for a good show. In short, all the facets of human nature—the good, the bad, and the indifferent—were on full display in that mont.
Ignoring the complicated stares, Hong Yu led Little Feng to a nearby table and sat down. "Little Feng, what would you like to eat?"
Little Feng hesitated for a mont, then deftly ordered a few dishes.
The waiter stood to the side, hesitating, seemingly at a loss for what to do.
A cold sweep of Hong Yu's eyes made the waiter feel as if he had been plunged into an ice cellar. He scurried away, trembling.
「A mont later...」
Five dishes and a soup were served.
Looking at the dishes on the table, Hong Yu was once again puzzled. The combination of at and vegetable dishes was extrely particular. Yet Little Feng had reeled them off without a second thought, clearly very familiar with them. This made Hong Yu even more suspicious of Little Feng's identity. 'Is he really just an ordinary little beggar?'
Little Feng didn't imdiately pick up his chopsticks. He just sat there quietly. It was only then that Hong Yu realized the boy was waiting for him, the host, to begin eating first.
'This kid is really sothing else!'
Slightly taken aback, Hong Yu was the first to pick up his chopsticks.
Sure enough, only after seeing Hong Yu start eating did Little Feng begin. His table manners were also impeccable. He didn't just eat whatever he wanted; instead, he would wait for Hong Yu to try a dish before tasting it himself.
'Those are the rules of etiquette among the nobility!'
This made Hong Yu even more curious about Little Feng's identity.
After the al, when Little Feng saw Hong Yu put down his chopsticks, he asked, "Big Brother, are you full?" When Hong Yu nodded, he then asked, "Can I take the rest of this back with now?"
"No."
Hong Yu shook his head.
Little Feng froze, and a trace of disappointnt flashed across his face. "Oh."
"Why don't you ask why not?" Hong Yu asked, puzzled.
Little Feng shook his head. "My mother taught that a person must know contentnt and gratitude. Big Brother already treated to a al, so I can't make any more unreasonable demands!" He stood up, bowed deeply to Hong Yu, and said, "Big Brother, thank you for the al. But my mother is still waiting for at ho, so I have to go find sothing for her to eat!"
Seeing the sensible, kind-hearted Little Feng about to turn and leave, Hong Yu gently caught his hand. "Why are you leaving? You haven't taken the al I prepared for your mother yet!"
"Huh?"
Little Feng was stunned.
Hong Yu called the waiter over. "Another order of the sa dishes."
Hong Yu tossed the waiter twenty Gold Coins, which he happily accepted.
A mont later, a fresh set of dishes was packed and brought over. The waiter was carrying the food container toward Hong Yu when a sudden gust of wind shot down from the second floor. A sharp SMACK landed on the container in the waiter's hands. The box, filled with hot food and soup, flew out of his grasp and shot straight toward Hong Yu.
"Ah...!"
the waiter cried out in alarm.
Just as the food container was about to hit Hong Yu, Little Feng darted in front of him. The little boy spread his arms and squeezed his eyes shut.
'This kid!'
Hong Yu smiled faintly. With one hand, he gently pulled Little Feng behind him. With the other, he tapped the air, and a continuous, soft force steadily caught the food container.
"CLAP, CLAP, CLAP!"
A crisp round of applause ca from the second floor.
Hong Yu looked toward the sound.
A group of five people descended the stairs. Each was dressed in brocade robes and fine clothes, clearly the wealthy children of high-ranking officials.
The man in the lead had a face as pale as jade and wore an embroidered robe. His brow held a trace of sickly pallor, and a sinister smile played on his lips as he looked at Hong Yu. "No wonder you dared to ddle in my affairs and bring this little beggar in. So you're a master..."
"Who are you?"
Hong Yu asked, looking at the brocade-robed youth.
Little Feng gently tugged on the corner of his sleeve and said weakly, "Big Brother, he's the one who said he'd beat every ti he saw . You should leave quickly. He'll vent his anger after hitting . Otherwise, he'll take it out on you later!"
"Tsk, tsk, you little beggar, you've really figured out my temper, haven't you?"
The brocade-robed youth grinned, his voice sinister. "But you've guessed wrong today. I'm in a very bad mood. Not only am I going to beat you, but I'm also going to teach this ddleso guy next to you a good lesson!"
"Heh heh, Young Master Lin, leave this to us!"
The four n behind him stepped forward, cracking their knuckles.
All four wore arrogant sneers as they closed in on Hong Yu.
"Those are Young Master Lin's four lackeys, the young experts commonly known as the Four Great Vajras!"
"Every one of these Four Great Vajras is an expert at the Ninth Layer of the Essence Realm! I heard they all participated in the Cyan Nether Sword Sect's assessnt last year and were masters who nearly passed!"
"With the Four Great Vajras making a move, that kid is done for!"
The patrons in the hall were clearly accustod to such scenes. They whispered amongst themselves, and almost no one thought Hong Yu stood a chance.
Hong Yu, however, just raised an eyebrow and murmured, "'Nearly passed the Cyan Nether Sword Sect assessnt?'"
"What? Scared now?"
"Hee hee... too late!"
"Get him!"
The Four Great Vajras charged forward with savage grins.
The four of them were genuinely strong. At the very least, within the Ninth Layer of the Essence Realm, they were already comparable to Liu Liyun a year ago.
With their strength, it was no wonder they could run rampant in Xifeng City without opposition!
Unfortunately for them...
This ti, they were facing Hong Yu!
Hong Yu snorted coldly, raised a single finger, and casually flicked it at the four n.
"BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!"
Amidst four consecutive screams, the so-called mighty Four Great Vajras were sent flying backward. Like arrows loosed from a bow, they were thrown out of the West Wind Tower and crashed heavily onto the street outside, causing a wave of shocked cries.
"Wh-wh-what? The Four Great Vajras..." The brocade-robed youth, Young Master Lin, was dumbfounded, his jaw hanging open.
Hong Yu shot him a cold look. "Roll out of here on your own, or should I help you?"
"Ah? I'll... I'll roll, I'll roll!"
Young Master Lin hastily tried to run outside.
Hong Yu snorted. "I told you to roll. Is that what you call rolling?"
"I'll-I'll roll, I'll roll..."
Young Master Lin hung his head, squatted down on the ground, and actually began to roll, over and over, out the door...
