Hong Yu gazed quietly at the Star River Spirit Bone floating before him.
This Spirit Bone was entirely purple-gold and about the size of a fist. A faint, noble purple-gold luster enveloped it. Most notably, ancient gray runes ford chains across its surface, seeming to hold the profound essence of the supre Dao.
'This is the Star River Spirit Bone? It was made by refining a Star River into the Skull Bone of a Peak Powerhouse from the cosmos?' Hong Yu wondered aloud, his eyes wide with amazent.
"Hong Yu!"
Little One's voice pulled Hong Yu back to reality.
Hong Yu glanced to the side.
Little One was flying toward him, a puff of white smoke billowing beneath its feet. Trailing closely behind was the corpse of a young boy, shrouded in a deathly stillness.
"Hm? This is the Execution Corpse?" Hong Yu asked.
Little One shook its head. "It's just a half-finished product. I'm waiting for you to fuse with the Star River Spirit Bone. I'll then absorb the aura that escapes during the process to awaken the Execution Corpse." It paused, its expression growing more solemn. "Oh, right. I almost forgot to warn you. Fusing with the Star River Spirit Bone is not simple. The process will be excruciatingly painful—you could lose your mind and beco a drooling imbecile at any mont. If you really can't handle it, rember to give up imdiately!"
"I understand!"
Hong Yu smiled gratefully.
Little One said no more, simply urging Hong Yu to begin fusing with the Star River Spirit Bone as soon as possible.
Hong Yu closed his eyes again and circulated his Profound Skill, beginning to draw back the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi that the Stone Gate had devoured. The exiled Spiritual Qi had rushed out with the ferocious montum of a burst dam, like a great river flowing to the sea. But trying to absorb it back proved to be incredibly difficult, an agonizing struggle.
BUZZ! BUZZ!
As if sensing Hong Yu drawing back the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi, the purple-gold rune chains on the Star River Spirit Bone began to hum, emitting dazzling bursts of purple-gold light.
WHOOSH!
The Star River Spirit Bone transford into a streak of Flowing Light and shot into Hong Yu's body.
"AARGH…!"
Hong Yu's body convulsed. He cried out in agony as a startling trickle of blood escaped the corner of his lips.
The mont the Star River Spirit Bone entered his body, Hong Yu felt ten million poison-dipped steel needles stabbing into his brain. The searing pain nearly paralyzed his consciousness, threatening to shatter it completely. Fortunately, having lived two lives, his will was exceptionally firm. He gritted his teeth and endured.
RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
A magnificent scene unfolded in Hong Yu's mind.
A giant hand descended from the heavens, reaching to seize an entire Star River. From within nine colossal stars, nine majestic figures burst forth. Each figure was indistinct, but their power made the stars themselves tremble. The void shattered and stars recoiled wherever they passed. The nine figures soared up in defiance of the heavens, battling the giant hand.
Yet the giant hand seed to take no notice of the nine supre powerhouses attacking it simultaneously. A cold snort echoed from the ancient void, and the nine figures were instantly struck as if by lightning.
Stars shattered and black holes collapsed. The nine great powerhouses were no match for a single, cold snort.
BANG!
The scene shattered, replaced by the image of a colossal star with a diater of one hundred thousand light-years.
How could a star be so massive?
Imagine it: a single star as vast as the entire Milky Way Galaxy. How terrifying was that?
And yet…
Under the pressure of the giant hand, this unbelievably massive star simply collapsed, dissolving into nothingness. At its core, an azure cluster of light floated gently. A hand of void tore through space and snatched this core essence away. At the sa ti, the other eight colossal stars t the sa fate.
The nine great stars were annihilated. Nine clusters of core essence—red, orange, green, cyan, blue, purple, and others—converged, and along with the entire vast Star River, were dragged into an infinite void.
BZZZT!
The scene shifted again.
This ti, it was not the cosmos that appeared before Hong Yu, but a figure whose features were obscured. He gazed at the nine clusters of core essence floating before him, then suddenly waved his hands. Powerful Hand Seals, seemingly capable of influencing the very rules of heaven and earth, materialized out of thin air, forging runes of various colors and driving them into the nine cores.
With a flick of his fingers, he sent nine Spirit Bones flying out to rge with the nine clusters of core essence.
"I have searched heaven and earth for eons. Chaos itself has perished, yet I remain eternal. My successor, these nine great Star River Spirit Bones can grant you a supre opportunity, but they cannot carry you directly to the Peak. The path of the Martial Dao is endless; the most valuable asset is diligence. Never forget this…"
The majestic figure vanished once more, leaving behind a small, ancient pagoda floating in the void.
"The Star River Celestial Spirit Bone, refined from the core essence of the Celestial Martial Origin Star. This Spirit Bone has myriad wondrous uses. My disciple, do not disappoint !"
The mighty voice bored deep into his Soul, then faded away.
Hong Yu could finally see the first Star River Spirit Bone clearly. It was a Skull Bone. The Star River Spirit Bone was no longer as placid as it had been inside the Stone Gate; it now rippled and struggled. A faint purple-gold light radiated from the Spirit Bone, blocking Hong Yu's approach.
Hong Yu looked closer and saw that the purple-gold light was actually a nebula.
Ninety thousand dazzling stars dotted the space around the nebula. At its very center was a purple-gold core—the very essence of the Celestial Martial Origin Star.
'It seems that to earn the Star River Spirit Bone's recognition, I must break through these surrounding Star Chains.' Hong Yu's expression hardened. Gritting his teeth, he charged toward the Star River Spirit Bone.
BZZZT!
The mont he neared the Spirit Bone, Hong Yu felt a searing, tearing pain in his Soul.
More than ninety thousand stars pressed down on him at once.
At a mont like this, a person of ordinary mind and will would have had their consciousness crushed completely. But Hong Yu held on.
