The Skyward General floated into Cloud Edge City's harbor. Immortal Silver Brawler Yu Yanwu was a familiar face so nobody gave them any trouble. The Hero Alliance of Mount Liang gave him a certain reputation within the city. Even the major factions wouldn’t ss with an alliance of over a hundred bandit immortals.

Chen Wentian and Zhou Ziyun got off while the rest stayed on board. They were a curious pair, an exceedingly fat immortal and a little nun, any casual observer would have to praise the fatty for his heavy tastes. There were so many beautiful won that an immortal could have, why did it have to be a nun?

Cloud Edge City was vast. Countless factions were vying for power. This was reflected in the people on the streets. There were all kinds of outfits from full sets of armor to masks or veils that covered entire faces. There were also bare-chested n and scantily clad won. There were cultured young masters and princesses as well as barbarians and criminals.

Chen Wentian smiled lightly when he saw a prioress of the Virtuous Order. Her face was covered in a veil and he didn’t recognize her. However, he felt that her aura was sowhat familiar.

With all kinds of people, it was also reflected in the architecture. The city streets were a chaotic ss and it was difficult to find one’s way around. The buildings were a mish-mash of different designs and reaching each new city block felt like entering a different world.

After walking around for a while, the pair got familiar with the central district near the harbor. Chen Wentian found a location suitable to their plans and he sent Zhou Ziyun to go alone to be the bait.

Zhou Ziyun crossed the street and entered a small dimly lit shop. It was nad the Gold River Trading Post, an impressive na for an unimpressive place. Without fear, she walked past a couple of surly workers who stared at her strangely and went up to the counter. The shopkeeper, an old mortal at the peak of Spirit Initiate Realm, looked her up and down and snorted in annoyance.

“What do you want? Little nun, are you lost?” He asked gruffly.

Zhou Ziyun rummaged in her pocket and pulled out a pure black crystal. It was glowing but it gave off a mysterious black light. It was a small void crystal, containing the powers of space and emptiness. It weighed about half a kilogram, a sizable treasure.

“I would like to sell this,” She said.

The shopkeeper straightened and rubbed his eyes, “Interesting. Very interesting.”

He snatched the crystal away with astonishing speed and then put it close to his eye. He muttered to himself as he examined it, using his sight as well as his spiritual senses.

“Very nice, very pure spatial-attribute spiritual energy,” He laughed, “Good, good, Xiao Jiu, give her the money.”

“Yes, sir.”

One of the attendants went to the back and returned with a small tray that bore a few chunks of red spiritual crystal. He deftly weighed them on scale and they ca out to five kilograms or five hundred thousand taels of gold. He then placed the tray before Zhou Ziyun roughly.

“Take it and get out of here.”

Zhou Ziyun frowned, “The market price for my void crystal should be one million taels. This is not enough.”

Bang!

The shopkeeper slapped his palm on the table and scowled, “Little nun, watch your mouth! My price is the market price. Since you are selling to , I am the market! Take the money and leave! No more negotiations!”

“No more negotiations?” Zhou Ziyun asked.

The market price Zhou Ziyun stated for spatial-attribute crystals wasn’t the true price. The true price was much higher. This was because there was always demand but no supply. Every ti such crystals showed up, they would be snatched up by powerful factions. The shopkeeper was willing to bully a little nun with no background to make a huge profit.

“Get out!”

With the shopkeeper’s shout, the two attendants started towards Zhou Ziyun, intent on dragging her out.

Zhou Ziyun smiled, “You guys are underlings of Immortal Grasping River ng Kang?”

The three people in front of her froze.

“So, what of it?” The shopkeeper asked.

“My master is Immortal Sword Bandit Lin Huzhong. You should think carefully about this. We are just mortals trying to earn a living, re pawns of the struggles between immortals. There is no need to cheat each other.”

“Damn it! Fuck your granny!” The shopkeeper shouted angrily, “I wanted to be courteous since you’re just a nun. But why are you so noisy? Xiao Jiu, grab her, I want to see if she will still be so mouthy when I am done with her!”

“Yes, sir!”

As they approached Zhou Ziyun like lions about to devour a lamb. But the person before them was a lamb protected by a dragon.

A wave of spiritual energy swept over them as Chen Wentian entered the shop. His large stature nearly filled the entire doorway, blocking the sunlight from the outside.

“Ahem, gentlen,” He coughed loudly as he withdrew his aura. After all, immortals were not allowed to fight within the city, “Is there a problem?”

The shopkeeper and his minions all backed away to a safe distance but the shopkeeper did not appear afraid. He didn’t even bow in the presence of an immortal.

“Lord immortal, of course, there is no problem. I was just about a conclude a bit of business with this little nun.”

Chen Wentian chuckled. People of the Temple of the Clouds had seen too many immortals. Even mortals were so arrogant and fearless before an immortal.

“Is this how the Gold River Trading Post handles things?” He said mildly, “I am disappointed. Here I was, thinking the Seven Rivers Union and their subsidiaries would be able to deal in a fair and upright manner. I guess… I will have to take my business elsewhere.”

As he said that, he retrieved a few more void crystals and tossed them in his hands like they were worthless pebbles.

The shopkeeper’s eyes widened. But before he could say anything, a second immortal aura arrived. A figure slowly erged from the rear, a grizzled old fart who had seen too many seasons. This was the true owner of this shop.

“Master!” The shopkeeper said and bowed.

The old immortal glared, “Is this how I taught you to do things? Go back and polish all the gems three tis!”

“Y… yes!” The shopkeeper muttered and dashed away.

The immortal turned back to Chen Wentian with a smile, “My big friend, I am Immortal Grasping River ng Kang, the owner of this little shop. I apologize for not teaching my people properly.”

Chen Wentian also smiled and waved his hand, “Nothing to worry about, business is business. You want to make money; I also want to make money. As a wise person once said, a fair deal is where both sides are unhappy. I feel you are not yet unhappy enough for it to be fair.”

ng Kang laughed and stroked his beard, “A wise person indeed. Co, co, let us discuss fairness so more over a cup of tea.”
