"Dear Lord, what is that!"
"Goodness!"
"Green... rot?"
"What is that, let see?"
Jungles, deserts, tribes, palaces, all seed to be stirring restlessly.
Below the sands, Sui Yi was pulled into a vortex like soone captured by a black hole, into water, into air, among the dirt and sand, transported far, far away in such a bizarre state.
--------
Bubbling noises filled her ears and when Sui Yi regained consciousness, her eyes opened to water choking her throat. The first thing she saw was an underwater world of erald green tinged with yellowish murk. She was disoriented. Where was this?
Above her was water as well; it appeared deep, yet there was a hint of light above...
Moving her limbs, Sui Yi tucked the Xiezhi Dagger into her waistband and swam upwards, but she thought she heard the sound of sothing else slicing through the water...
Turning her head, she saw only darkness engulfing the world...
A slight tremor went through Sui Yi’s heart, and she turned back and swam upwards...
Splash! A pale white hand erged from beneath the edges of square bricks in the water, grabbing hold of a brick and making a rippling noise as a person erged from the water.
Spit! Sui Yi lay on the edge of the square bricks, spitting out a mouthful of water, gasping for air. She wiped the water off her face, but then paused in surprise.
Before her eyes were large blocks of earthy yellow and dark brown stone bricks, the crevices between them didn’t even have the slightest hint of moss, only a touch of powder dust.
These stone bricks were truly massive; at first glance, one might think the wall was a naturally ford monolith. Only when her gaze expanded did she realize it was several blocks joined together, with a blocked stone wall on the left and a corridor leading out on the right.
There seed to be light on the wall, so she could see that the corridor was actually an underground canal. There was a river on the ground, roughly five ters wide in total, with stone paths about one ter wide on both sides.
"What in the world is this place? Such orderly and large-scale architecture must belong to a temple or major building..." Sui Yi quietly speculated, preparing to climb out, when sothing suddenly yanked hard on her leg...
Splash!
Her body slid downwards montarily, but her hands desperately gripped the edge of the stone bricks as she twirled her legs, executing an underwater kick!
With a powerful spin, she flung whatever had grabbed her leg away, and then, with a burst, she leaped out of the water!
Whoosh!
Turning, she drew the Xiezhi Dagger from her waist and watched the water’s surface warily...
The water was still rippling away, slapping against the stone, gradually weakening until it turned into gentle, charming ripples...
Sui Yi squinted slightly, her body dripping wet, so strands of hair clinging to her face, drops of water sliding down from the tips of her hair, lingering on her chin, one drop, two drops, three drops...
As the third drop fell to the ground with a faint drip...
Splash!
From beneath the water, an eerie shadow surged up. Seen through Sui Yi’s constricting pupils was the creature’s open mouth, dripping with a green, oily mucus, its fierce hands reaching out, its swift attack bearing down on her...
This was a person!
It was soone she knew!
Sui Yi kicked fiercely against the assailant’s abdon, sending the figure tumbling back into the water with a splash. The water erupted chaotically, spraying in all directions.
Amid the churn of whitewater, she struggled to understand why soone who had already died in the Ancient Tomb below appeared here, and...
"If Gong Jiu were to see this scene, perhaps..."
Sui Yi recalled the information she had seen from Gong Jiu, which included accounts of people infected by that green liquid becoming extrely violent and attacking others.
At that mont, on the water’s surface, several heads suddenly began to erge, standing up from beneath...
Ominous eyes were staring intently at Sui Yi.
One, two, three...
Twenty or thirty heads.
So looked as though they had been dead for a long ti, starting to rot...
These people were preparing to climb up...
Without a mont’s hesitation, Sui Yi ran frantically along the stone pathway!
She had only taken a few steps when she realized there was no pursing noise from behind; looking back, there were no heads on the water’s surface, as if the previous scene had been a horrifying illusion.
However, her gaze swiftly caught sight of the trails on the water’s surface...
One by one, densely packed.
Undoubtedly, these people were able to maintain a speed akin to fish even under the water, and in the blink of an eye, they were parallel to her...
In a flash, Sui Yi pointed her toes, and the Xiezhi Dagger was quickly slashed behind!
She cut a bloody gash on the neck of soone who surged out of the water suddenly.
The pungent stench of blood filled the air, and as this person fell back into the water, one by one, more and more charged toward her in a relentless assault...
