Her hand is still lying cold upon my belly, Anastasia’s eyes t mine with a gaze like frozen midnight.
"You are pregnant," This escaped her lips, each word was a sharp sliver of ice to my core.
Within my bones, a crushing bucket of icy water washed over every part of .
Nervous panic gripped my insides so tight, I couldn’t breathe at all.
Scared as never before, I internally trembled head to toe with the terror of what she would do now, knowing one of my deepest secrets.
Would this make my mate despise , and scorn our pup growing in my womb, all because of my stupidity that night and the fact that she doesn’t want it?
I didn’t an for this to happen, I was not even in my right mind that, how was I supposed to remind her of protection?
but now she knew, and there was no taking it back.
All I saw behind those bitter eyes was hatred for what I carried or so I thought.
Frozen where I stood, my mind raced faster than any storm.
Desperate to make her understand, to not hate the innocent child growing in my stomach, I opened my mouth to plead.
But no words ca out, only cold shards of fear choking off any sound but faint, panicked gasps as I shook within with dread of all I might now lose because my mate knew my pregnant state.
With shaky steps, I eased back from her touch, hoping distance would break that pale intense stare.
But those icy eyes followed my every move.
A strangled laugh slipped out as I rubbed my nape. "Not possible, Alpha. Must’ve heard wrong," I lied.

Without words, she condemned my feeble deceptions.
Still, as winter, she spoke "You know well I sense the second heartbeat coming from your stomach,"

That small life pounding beneath her touch rooted frozen where I stood.
No shelter from those penetrating orbs reading each terror flying through my mind.
She had laid open completely to daylight - body, soul and this unasked-for child growing safe in my womb.
I could only quake helplessly under her knowing gaze, awaiting her cold judgnt to seal both fates forevermore.
When Anastasia said she sensed the second heartbeat within my body, I knew I could no longer deny the truth.
A heavy silence fell between us as we stared at each other, her empty gaze boring into mine as I waited anxiously.
My heart raced and my breaths ca quickly.
As the monts stretched on without any response from her, I started to panic.
My mind told she would not claim or care for the pup.
In my desperation, I burst out "The baby isn’t yours, so you don’t need to care if it lives or dies. It doesn’t matter to you!"
By my panicked reaction, she must realize the child ant nothing to her.
But still, her pale stare held fixed as tornt swirled within my mind.
I did not know her true thoughts or if she would pronounce judgnt over my fate.
All I could do was tremble internally before my mate who was holding our future together captive.
Her hand stayed on my belly, feeling our pup’s heartbeat.
Again she said "Not mine," only quieter this ti.
I didn’t understand why she looked sad now when before she didn’t want anything to do with pups.
This woman before is the sa one who made sure nothing grew in when we mated by pulling out and giving those pills the next day.
Her eyes looked sad but I was mixed up.
It makes no sense for her to be sad after knowing that this isn’t her baby.
Her face held no answers for the questions going every which way in my mind.
All I could do was stare back,.
I was all mixed up and couldn’t say anything.
I thought for sure she’d be glad this pup wasn’t hers, not sad like this.
Her hand stayed on my belly as she t my eyes hard.
Then she asked, "Why is the baby two months old?" and I froze for sure.
She knew everything already - I was busted clean through.
I just stood dumb, openin’ and closin’ my mouth like the village idiot.
No sentence would co to defend this pup not bein’ hers.
I stared back when she whispered the words I feared.
Face paler than snow even in the kitchen’s dim light, Anastasia said "I know it’s mine."
My whole body went cold as winter’s heart.
Now all was laid bare before those eyes knowin’ far better than self.
I gently took her hands off my stomach, smiling though unease filled . "Don’t fret over this," I said softly.
"There’s no need for you to feel bound to what’s done. The pills didn’t work, but it’s fine if you would rather not be involved. Just act like you don’t know anything about it." I looked down, baring all.
"I can take care of them myself. I don’t want you to feel trapped or anything. Again... You can pretend you don’t know if that’s easier for you."
My tone stayed low and sad despite smiling.
But she listened intently to every word without looking away.
Then she asked, "Why would you think I don’t want them?"
and I grew more confused, having no reply for this enigma staring back at as always, guarding her thoughts close.
-Liam’s Pov’s end:
Liam looked at her for a second before answering " Because you said it that morning, you said you don’t want kids and made take those pills, I totally understand, children are a big responsibility, and not everyone wants them, I won’t tell anyone it’s yours if that’s what you want."
She kept listening before she sighed and went to grab a bottle of wine to pour a glass of wine for herself and was about to pour one for Liam but decided otherwise since he was pregnant she pinched the bridge of her nose then asked in her low deep feminine voice, serious "Do you know why I said I don’t want kids?"
Liam shook his head "No?"
"Because I don’t have the ability to have them." Liam is Confused, because what the hell is she saying?
He is literally carrying her baby while she is saying that she is unable to have kids.
it makes no sense.
He said nothing though and just kept listening to her.
"Although I’m a woman, As a true blood my body wasn’t made for pregnancy."
Liam was still confused yet he was also surprised because he had no idea that female true bloods can not get pregnant,
She kept talking and he listened "I knew my mate was going to be a man and most likely an alpha or a true Blood so definitely not an oga male" She stated.
He wanted so badly to correct her and tell her that her mate was, in fact, an oga, well half an oga but it was the sa, he could not say it, he was still not brave enough to let her know about that.
She kept talking while sipping from her glass of wine "So I can not get pregnant and I can not get a male alpha pregnant either and I grew to accept this reality. I accepted it to the point of not desiring kids at all. That’s why I said what I said that day and gave you those pills also."
Liam felt sad at how she could not get pregnant and have kids and apologized "I... I’m sorry."
she shook her head " Don’t be sorry, I would not change my rank even if I got the choice to do so. being a true Blood is worth it."
She chuckles lowly which shocked Liam as this is his first seeing her smile.
She humd and lifted her hand to touch his stomach again but this ti he let her "I can feel him growing in here."
He widened his eyes and asked, "It’s him?"
Anastasia chuckled while stroking Liam’s stomach where their baby was growing and answered "Yes, it is him. It’s a boy."
Liam smiled happily, so widely "But how do you know that?"
She nodded with a tiny grin on her face still caressing his stomach and feeling the baby "Ehm, yeah. As I said being a true Blood is worth it. I can tell the gender of fetuses before those machines can."
Liam is so happy right now.
Anastasia looked at his smile and asked "Are you happy that it is a boy?"
"No, I’m just happy to know sothing new about our baby..." he smiled widely, Anastasia looked at him quickly, the sound of him saying ’ our baby’ hit them so hard in their hearts which made his smile vanish as he nervously spoke "I an my baby...I’m sorry. I did not an to say it like that. Please just forget I said that."
She imdiately shook her head and said "No, it is... it’s fine... Ahm... He is ours... Our baby..."
She mumbled and hesitantly circled her arms around his waist and rested her head on his shoulder while stroking his tummy with her thumb and mumbled while closing her eyes "I want this... This feels nice."
He is frozen, scared, and shocked, can not believe it as he asks while feeling Anastasia hugging him and caressing his stomach "You...You want what?"
