Damn it.

He had accidentally used modern terms.

Yue Mingxuan’s mind spun for a mont, and he awkwardly said, "In my country, there was once a missionary who ca from across the seas. He always carried a picture book that included these hidden weapons. They called them guns and bullets. I studied with him for a short ti in my childhood, so I know."

From now on, he decided, he would attribute all new terms to this fictitious missionary to avoid constantly having to invent explanations.

Shang Qinghua watched Yue Mingxuan’s eyes spin as he spoke, imdiately realizing he was lying. For so reason, however, he didn’t want to expose him.

Xi Yu, on the other hand, listened with great interest and grabbed Yue Mingxuan, asking, "Really? Was that missionary blond with blue eyes? I’ve heard from my master that won like that are especially... satisfying."

"Uh..." Yue Mingxuan’s face twisted into a mixture of exasperation and helpless amusent.

Xi Yu’s master really was a peculiar man.

How could such things be discussed with a disciple?

Didn’t ancient tis emphasize strict propriety, where rulers were rulers, ministers were ministers, fathers were fathers, and sons were sons?

For a master to talk about these things was like a father taking his son to a brothel.

Being a man, Yue Mingxuan couldn’t answer the question at all. He forced a laugh, saying, "Uh... I don’t know. Maybe you should ask your master again?"

Even if he did, the answer would probably be sothing not suitable for a child.

Xi Yu saw that Shang Qinghua remained silent, so he nudged him in the waist and said, "Once I see that old man, he’ll probably want to test my martial arts again. Why don’t you go ask him when you et him?"

Shang Qinghua didn’t respond with words, only making a low "hmm" sound.

What? What? What? These two were trained by the sa master?

Yue Mingxuan’s eyes widened in surprise, and he couldn’t help but admire their teacher.

To have trained one disciple to be cunning and aloof, and the other to be flirtatious and mischievous—quite the effort.

Seeing Yue Mingxuan’s astonished expression, Xi Yu smiled with a trace of pride. "See? You wouldn’t have guessed it, right? I’m still the senior brother, after all."

Before Yue Mingxuan could react in surprise, Shang Qinghua interjected, "You’re not. I am."

Xi Yu said, "We agreed back then, the one who got the Jade Qilin is the senior brother. The Qilin is in my hands now. What, are you going to back out?"

Shang Qinghua rolled his eyes. "That was stolen, not claid through martial skill."

Xi Yu bristled at the word "stolen" and exclaid, "What do you an ’stolen’? That’s called taking it!"

This was the first ti Yue Mingxuan had seen Shang Qinghua display such a cute expression, and he couldn’t help but laugh.

The two quarreling n turned to him at the sound of his laughter.

"What are you laughing at?" they asked.

Yue Mingxuan secretly cursed himself in his mind.

He simply couldn’t hide his bad habit of laughing at the wrong monts.

f only he hadn’t laughed earlier, he could have enjoyed the show a little longer. He said, "I have to ask... shouldn’t you two put your clothes back on before arguing?"

In this secluded valley, with one Ger and two n all partially undressed, it looked as though sothing inappropriate had occurred.

Shang Qinghua whistled sharply, and soon a black steed galloped up.

The horse was jet black, with just a small white mark on its forehead.

Upon seeing Shang Qinghua, it ca over, rubbing affectionately against him.

He swung himself onto its back and extended a hand to Yue Mingxuan. "Co."

Yue Mingxuan followed, placing his hand in Shang Qinghua’s, and was pulled onto the horse chest-first.

He could feel Shang Qinghua’s chest only through his thin undergarnt, and the warmth from his body made his head feel slightly dazed.

Shang Qinghua casually said, "He’ll figure it out."

If offended, he’d just have to run naked looking for clothes the whole way.

True enough, with Xi Yu’s lightness skill, whether he had clothes or not made little difference.

Yue Mingxuan thought Shang Qinghua’s words made sense, so he didn’t worry further.

Hearing Shang Qinghua say that, Xi Yu fud with rage, smoke practically coming out of his ears. "And your carriage? Don’t tell it’s not nearby!"

Shang Qinghua shrugged. "I thought the scenery looked nice, so I decided to ride instead."

"Then you ride the horse, and I’ll take the carriage," Xi Yu grit out through clenched teeth.

"Hey, weren’t you claiming to be the senior brother? How can you take your junior’s carriage?" Shang Qinghua chuckled lightly, patted the horse’s neck, and shot forward like an arrow from a bow, leaving Xi Yu’s enraged shouts far behind.

Riding on the horse, Yue Mingxuan heard Xi Yu’s furious shouting behind them and couldn’t help but laugh.

Seeing Shang Qinghua so playful revealed a side he had never shown before, the cunning and aloof exterior lted away, leaving a heart full of childlike mischief and warmth.

The scenery along the road continuously passed by, and the black steed carried the two of them at incredible speed.

Yue Mingxuan couldn’t help but praise silently, "What a fine horse."

"It’s called Chi Tu," Shang Qinghua suddenly said.

Anyone who saw Chi Tu for the first ti would inevitably be filled with admiration and Yue Mingxuan probably felt the sa way.

Yue Mingxuan nodded, his soft hair brushing against Shang Qinghua’s chest, sending a shiver through him.

He closed his eyes in comfort, feeling the morning wind rushing past.

At this speed, the horse truly lived up to its na.

Thanks to Chi Tu’s incredible speed, the two of them quickly reached the nearest town.

They picked a ready-made clothing shop at random and knocked on the door early in the morning.

Seeing the owner’s expression that was half displeasure, half suspicion, Yue Mingxuan quickly produced a small piece of broken silver and said, "Shopkeeper, last night we encountered bandits outside the town. This morning we barely managed to escape, which is why we look like this. Please, could you provide us with two sets of clothing?"
