"Co on... Easier said than done," Leorio muttered, sticking out his tongue in frustration. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of sothing unusual.
A silver-haired kid, hands in his pockets, casually glided past them. Yes, glided.
At that mont, he was riding a skateboard, giving a gentle push off the ground and moving far ahead. Leorio: "..."
"Hey, you little punk, that's cheating!!" Leorio, unable to tolerate unfairness, rolled his eyes and shouted.
"Why?" Killua turned his head, puzzled.
"How can you even ask why..." Two cross-shaped veins popped on Leorio's forehead. "This is an endurance test!!"
"No, the examiner only said to follow him," Killua replied, just as Gon chid in from behind.
"Don't argue, it'll waste your energy~" Kurapika also sided against Leorio. "The rules allow us to bring anything."
"Damn it..." Seeing his teammates side with an outsider, Leorio's cheeks puffed with frustration.
Leorio's outburst caught Killua's attention, and he noticed Gon beside him. "Hey, how old are you?"
"Almost twelve."
"Oh... sa age as ?" Killua thought for a mont, then hopped off his skateboard, tucking it under his arm. "Then I'll walk too."
"Your skateboard is so cool," Gon complinted.
"Your hat's style is nice too~" Killua glanced at the hat perched on Gon's spiky hair.
"Really? Thanks! It's sothing my dad left !!" Gon bead at the complint.
"I'm Killua."
"I'm Gon!"
Gon... Killua nodded slightly, then turned to Leorio. "Hey, old man, what's your na?"
Old man... Leorio couldn't hold it in any longer and roared, "I'm the sa as you guys, just a teenager!!"
Gon was shocked: "No way?!"
"Gon, even you! That's too much! I'm breaking up with you!!" Leorio wailed, causing Kurapika to quicken his pace, pretending not to know them. After the commotion, Leorio felt even more exhausted.
"Damn, if this keeps up, passing might be really tough..." Leorio gritted his teeth, anxiously wanting to check on the other examinees.
So far, no one had fallen behind, which only made him more discouraged. "Am I really that bad?"
This thought crept into his mind. Then, his eyes instinctively landed on the skateboard tucked under Killua's arm.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up. "The rules allow us to bring and use anything, so in that case..."
Leorio didn't plan to borrow Killua's skateboard. For one, they weren't familiar, and borrowing sothing Killua didn't even rely on felt too humiliating. It would imply he lacked even a child's determination.
Prideful Leorio would rather fail than lose face like that. However...
"I can't borrow that silver-haired kid Killua's skateboard, but..." He turned to look at Morin, who seed to be investigating sothing with his head down.
"Morin..." Leorio approached cautiously, rubbing his hands together like a rchant or soone begging for a favor.
"Could I borrow your 'Bamboo-copter' for a bit?" He wore a flattering smile.
That's right, Leorio's target was Morin. More precisely, it was the gadget in Morin's possession.
"The Bamboo Copter has a usage ti limit, and it's already flown for quite a while, so the battery is running low," Morin casually replied.
In truth, even if the Bamboo Copter was out of power, Morin had plenty of other spares. However, he didn't want to lend it to Leorio, mainly because Leorio, despite his fear of heights, insisted on borrowing a flying gadget. Morin was worried Leorio might end up damaging it.
"Is that so?" Leorio's eyes flashed with disappointnt upon hearing this. Just as he was about to leave~
"Take this." A coin suddenly flew towards Leorio. He fumbled to catch it.
"What is this?" Leorio examined the coin closely in his hand.
"Sticky Coin," Morin answered without looking up. "Its effect is similar to that of a parasitic fish's sucker."
Leorio, who hadn't read much about such things, was left speechless: "..."
"If you don't understand, go ask Kurapika!" Morin waved his hand, shooing away the clueless Leorio to find Kurapika.
"Parasitic fish's sucker?" Kurapika pondered upon hearing the term.
"I recall it's a type of fish with a fin on its head that resembles a coin. It likes to attach itself to larger fish, letting them carry it around." As he analyzed, he glanced at the coin in Leorio's hand.
"Since it's a gadget from Morin, its effect should be as he described, similar to a parasitic fish's sucker."
"It should allow soone else to carry you around."
"Allow soone else..." Leorio fiddled with the coin, "But how do I use it?"
"Do I have to put it on my head too?"
"Obviously not." Kurapika gave him a slightly exasperated look. "While the sucker of the parasitic fish is on its head, considering the difference in anatomy between fish and humans..."
"So, sticking it on your back should be the correct thod."
"On my back, huh?" Leorio slapped the coin onto his back. "Is that all there is to it?!"
Gadget: Sticky Coin. Effect: Once attached to the back, it allows the user to shrink and attach to anyone, letting the other person carry the user around freely. Note: If accidentally stuck to soone's butt, it might lead to terrifying consequences.
Ah, rember when Nobita got this gadget, he played a series of pranks and ended up sticking it on Gian's butt. Gian then sat down heavily on a bench, nearly squashing Nobita to death.
Later, Gian, thinking no one was around, sang loudly, leaving Nobita in a state of ecstasy and agony, both physically and ntally.
It all ended with Gian's oblivious fart, the intense sll hitting Nobita directly. By the ti he managed to escape Gian's terrifying ordeal and returned ho, his face was a shade of blue.
When he tried to return the Sticky Coin, it had beco slly and limp, turning from a shiny yellow coin into sothing resembling used toilet paper.
Doraemon: "..."
And now, this gadget was in Leorio's hands.
"As long as I stick it to soone else, it'll work?" Leorio looked around but couldn't find a suitable target. Finally--
"What are you looking at?!" Kurapika was startled when he noticed Leorio's gaze flickering towards him.
"What are you planning to do?!"
Kurapika quickly sidestepped, glaring at Leorio, "If you co any closer, I won't be polite!"
"Don't be so upset, Kurapika!" Leorio chuckled, unusually gentle. "You see, in this entire venue, you're the only one I trust the most."
