….

On the internet, I mostly searched for data on the world and iconic figures to definitively establish which historical period I had landed in.

I managed to watch the famous press conference of Tony Stark, where he admitted to being Iron Man.

Everything matched, starting from Downey Jr.'s face and ending with the long pause before the confession.

That happened two months ago, and the passions had already subsided, but there were more than enough links to all sorts of expert assessnts and hangers-on, though they didn't concern .

I also found Doctor Strange, though for so reason not Stephen, as I rembered from the movies, but Stefan.

But Cumberbatch's mug was in place, convincing once again that I am in the Avengers Cinematic Universe.

This worthy gentleman was currently still a practicing physician specializing in neurological surgery, working in a New York clinic and making good money on his operations.

Traces of Bruce Banner were also found, but there wasn't a word on the internet about where he works now or under what circumstances he ceased active scientific activity.

Nor was there any sensible information about the Hulk, only rumors, water, and all sorts of hoaxes. But at least they wrote about him.

However, neither Nick Fury, nor Victor von Doom, nor Reed Richards seed to exist here at all.

And if the forr could easily be attributed to the secrecy of the head of S.H.I.E.L.D., the absence of the others spoke volus.

And by the way, Susan Storm in the first two Fantastic Four movies was a real beauty and simply a perfect hit for the image of a sexy female character from classic cartoons, straight up eleven out of ten. Alas, no luck for here either...

I also looked up local legends about Asgard and Loki personally.

I wouldn't say I was a great expert on his myths in my past life, but a couple of points, precisely in contrast to Marvel, stuck in my mory.

Specifically, on my Earth, Loki was always considered a Jotun whom the Aesir allowed to live in Asgard.

Also, Laufey wasn't his father, but his mother, in so versions, even an Asgardian goddess, not a frost giantess.

His father, on the other hand, was a Jotun, but I couldn't rember his na.

Here, there was nothing of the sort. Loki was considered Odin's younger son, no double interpretations about it.

However, the differences ended there, and then began the sa wild nonsense that all primitive savages loved to invent about their gods, from Japanese Shintoists to ancient Greeks and Scandinavians.

You had the chaining to a rock with an acid-dripping snake above the head because… well, basically, he called on the gods to have a sense of moderation and stop stuffing themselves like pigs at so feast.

You had the "Swedish family" situation with a giantess and a goddess, resulting in a bunch of weird kids, including the wolf Fenrir and the serpent Jormungand.

And the spawning of all witches through conception via the charred heart of an evil woman…

Honestly, I didn't understand how, but apparently, it was implied that Loki carried and gave birth to them himself.

In short, digging through this pri nonsense of a sexually obsessed schizophrenic zoophile, I began to heartily understand why my predecessor hated Vikings personally and humans in general.

If people made up stuff like that about , I would also agree without hesitation to lead an army of evil aliens to conquer the storytellers' holand.

While spending my nightly leisure this way, I didn't forget to think about what to do next.

The idea of bailing from Asgard was correct and tily, but interdiate. And the words about finding thods to exit this universe were too vague a formulation. I needed specifics, but that was the hard part.

And no, let's not bring up Deadpool, who jumps through parallel universes after the credits in his movie and kills his own copies, including the actor who played him in my world.

That's Deadpool.

He doesn't even need to get drunk to hallucinate squirrels, and generally, Deadpool is sothing best not touched even with a ten-ter pole.

Thus, I didn't have that many options.

First up was Kamar-Taj.

This association of Earth sorcerers possessed very impressive techniques for working with space and the dinsions closest to this plane of existence.

Relying on mories of the movie and Loki's magical knowledge, I could quite easily imagine exactly how so of the local sorcerers' techniques worked, but only so, while others left even the God of Magic respectfully bewildered.

Thus, the idea of contacting Kamar-Taj and proposing an exchange of knowledge looked promising.

Even if the principles of their portals couldn't be refined for inter-universal transfer, the skill itself would be useful to on its own.

The second option was the search for a technological solution. But I didn't rember the nas of scientists who invented such devices in other variations of the universe, and I probably couldn't find them myself.

The X-n weren't going to be helpers in developnt, since even Hank McCoy, who was always responsible for their tech, is more of a competent technician with a broad outlook than a genius inventor.

Plus, he wasn't visible in the vicinity, so he might still be struggling with the external manifestations of his mutation sowhere, making other projects simply irrelevant for him.

But this world did have Tony Stark, who, judging by the stylish glowing circle in Iron Man's chest, would indeed soon start dying from radiation poisoning.

If I'm not confusing anything, and in such things, it's hard to get confused, this matter made him very nervous, almost to the point of trying to beautifully suicide, having previously signed the company over to the woman he loved.

And say what you will, but even the local Tony Stark is actually a genius.
