….

The speaker was a man already approaching old age, but not yet reaching it, although his hair was actively trying to leave his head in solitude.

As for the girls, surprisingly for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they turned out to be quite pretty.

Both were far from Storm, but compared to the general level around, very, very not bad.

At least, it was quite understandable why Thor, whom Sif had been chasing for several centuries, showed attention to this mortal.

If the respected Lord Vader couldn't resist in his ti, then what to say about just so Asgardian god?

Yes, yes, the second girl, obviously "Lady Jane," was the spitting image of Natalie Portman. Not as young and charming as in the roles of Mathilda from Léon or Padmé Amidala from The Phantom nace, but still retaining her albeit sowhat faded beauty. Or maybe that's just the spoiled master of illusions in talking.

"My friends," my brother bowed slightly, a trifle, but considering we're talking about the Thunderer, I almost shafully dropped my jaw, even knowing the whole background.

"Thor?.. Who is this?" "Padmé" pointed a finger awkwardly at , looking hopefully at the big guy.

Funny, it seems she still couldn't fully believe my brother's story, which is why my clothes caused much greater stupor than they could have.

However, what else to expect? After all, the exile had no divine powers left, nor artifacts, and his behavior and story testified more to so ntal disorder than to otherworldly origin. And yet she didn't refuse to shelter him… Won are truly strange creatures.

"Allow to introduce my brother Loki," forgetting himself, the Thunderer tried to clap on the shoulder, causing a montary disruption of the phantom's stability and even greater amazent on the mortals' faces.

"Loki?" the girl in glasses blinked rapidly. "Isn't that the guy who's always plotting against you?"

"Well, well," I turn to Thor, "what have you managed to tell about this ti?"

"Nothing!" the blond sincerely raised his hands in a defensive gesture.

"What did he weave about again?" I turn demandingly to the humans, consud by sharply rising very bad premonitions. "I hope at least this ti we avoided turning into a mare and giving birth to foals?"

"Into a mare?" now "Padmé" blinked bewilderedly.

"Every ti he appears in Midgard, he launches so idiotic rumor about , which your chroniclers then chew on in all books for several centuries. What was it this ti?"

"Nothing! Nothing at all," the girl shook her head. "Only that you…" "Padmé" faltered, obviously not knowing how to choose the right words, and casting glances screaming for help at Thor.

"Brother, I really didn't tell anything this ti!" the latter stepped forward, taking the blow. "Let's not recall that…"

"No, we will recall that!" I cut him off. "I must know what legend I owe you for this ti!"

"You don't look very much alike…" the glasses-wearer noted. "I an the hair!" she quickly corrected herself, catching our glances.

"We are half-brothers," I shrug, preparing to return to the topic.

"Loki, you are wrong!" the Thunderer imdiately lit up, and I instantly realized what was about to start… Hundreds of pictures rose before my eyes, how Thor flew into a rage and began to push his pretentious speeches, sweeping away any logic and common sense, but full of emotions, expression, and complete disregard for the interlocutor. My teeth ached…

"I am always right!" I throw up a hand, stopping the words ready to fall from the lips of Odin's son. This must be stopped at any cost. Nipped in the bud, or I'll really send the Destroyer here.

"Okay, let's leave it," the big guy started opening his mouth again, forcing to make another similar gesture to forestall the second remark. "Let's leave it! Both topics."

"…Fine," clearly overcoming himself, the blond exhaled.

"Let's continue the introduction," I turn to the scientists. "Padmé…" I portray a semblance of a bow to the obvious leader, "support group," the other scientists got so too.

"My na is Jane Foster," she introduced herself, frowning slightly. "Did you co for Thor?"

"No," I shake my head sideways, "he can't appear at ho yet, but I'm working on it!"

"Really? Thank you, brother!" this simple-minded giant rejoiced genuinely.

"Don't ntion it yet. So?" I raise an eyebrow, looking expectantly at the two people who hadn't introduced themselves.

"Are you… really Loki?" the second girl, Jane's friend, gathered the determination to ask. "Oh, yes, I am Darcy Lewis," she realized.

"Erik Selvig," the man introduced himself.

"Nice to et you," propriety first. "And answering your question, yes, I really am that very Loki, God of Magic, Intrigue, and what is called trolling on the modern internet. Heard of Tony Stark? That's roughly what I'm responsible for."

"Uh-huh…" Jane gathered her eyes into a bunch, looking under her brow ridges. "A…" and faltered, although it was clear what she wanted to ask. After all, Thor couldn't demonstrate anything, but mortals wanted to look at miracles.

Silently, I create a couple more illusions next to the phantom.

"Wow," Darcy admired again.

"Yes," I agree with a triple half-smile, enjoying the people's faces and their slightly parted mouths. "But actually, why did I co? You sit down, no need to react so violently," dispelling the extra phantoms, I point to the table.

"Need to find another plate," Darcy quietly inford her boss with a hint.

"Don't bother," I shake my head. "Not that I'm against participating in such an epochal event as tasting grub prepared by the Thunderer himself personally, and not just personally, but on a modern kitchen stove, but alas, I am currently on another planet, and this is just an illusion."

"You cook so rarely?"

"You're really on another planet?" Darcy and Jane asked simultaneously, respectively.

"You won't believe it, I'm shocked no less than you," I inform the lady in glasses confidentially and switch to Foster: "Yes, Padmé, I am on another planet."

"Loki!" Thor was indignant, but I pretended to suffer from selective deafness. Or rather enjoy it.

"Why do you call so strangely? What does this word an?" the scientist narrowed her eyes with a split-second difference.

"I can't believe it," Selvig muttered much quieter under his breath.

" neither," naturally, I chose the latter's remark to answer. "Sothing is clearly wrong with this universe, you just get out of the house to think about the eternal, figure yourself out, prevent a couple of planetary apocalypses… As imdiately so wildness begins, and from where you least expect it," I reward Thor with an extrely expressive look.

"A… apocalypses?" Darcy asked again.

"Speaking of which!" I perked up and created an illusion of a map of the imdiate surroundings between us.

"Sowhere here stands an abandoned mobile ho," I point to the spot where I roughly left the car, "there's a little cash in the glove compartnt, about five thousand, and the fridge is packed with food, only the battery is about to die. Could you pick it up? There are so souvenirs there, it would be a pity if they steal it."

"Uhh…"

"Brother…" Thor started, but I interrupted him, simultaneously casting a distracting illusion mixed with suggestion on the humans so they would think they were persuaded to sit at the table.
