I summoned Rebellion and set off, racing across the landscape at a blistering pace, pushing off telekinetic footholds with each step. I took off the head of the lead patrolman in the first group I ran into, spun mid-air, kicked off a tree bough, and swung wide — taking the heads of two of the four riders.
I blurred through the rest of the patrol, cutting them down in a flurry of strikes before taking off again. I systematically tore through the rest of the patrols in minutes. My assault continued uncontested until the earth shook and spat up PaleFyre.
The leader of the PaleFyre clan lunged at , tearing through hundreds of yards of trees in the blink of an eye. His claws were coated in constructs made from PaleFyre. He was a massive Dragonoid — twelve feet tall, limbs like tree trunks, and sclera as black as ink.
I activated my Ancient Enhancent array, boosting my physical stats by five hundred points. I switched to my Double spear, parrying his downward swipe. Kessith twisted mid-air, whipping his spiked tail toward . I spun and lashed out with a blade coated in telekinetic force, batting the attack away before flinging a triple-amplified Psychic Spike toward his head.
A cloak of shimring PaleFyre swept up his body just before impact, negating the strike. He countered with a beam of pure PaleFyre from his throat, punching into the air where I forrly hovered like a beacon that lit the sky for miles. I appeared behind him, reaching out — the plan was to grab his shoulder and take this fight to space.
Unfortunately, the Kree that'd co to visit him had other plans. They moved in a blur, inserting themselves between us.
One was massive with a thick, ropy beard, and he carried a massive hamr on his shoulder.
The other was clean-cut, short-haired, and wielding a tech-heavy longsword and Shield. Their weapons were limned in Palefyre. They struck.
I activated Ti Warp at maximum capacity, moving and perceiving ti five tis faster than everyone else. Twisting through their attacks, I caught all three with my telekinesis, strengthening it with five Amplification and Precision runes. Then I pulled us all through a fold in space, depositing us on the surface of Mars.
Their auras exploded the second they arrived. The Kree gained cloaks of PaleFyre like the clan leader, and Kessith's cloak grew more intricate and lifelike. He ford a PaleFyre glaive and crafted articulate plate armor to match his monstrous fra.
His eyes locked on , burning with malevolence.
"You've butchered hundreds of my children. We have no quarrel with your kind, Nephilim."
The bearded man's eyes widened. "The Moon Killer's brother?"
I tapped one of the runes on my helt. The helt and the rest of my armor sealed shut, air cycling through a contained system I designed with Tony Stark.
"I have a na, you know. It's Dante. Might not've split a moon in half, but I've done plenty." My voice ca out hollow and tallic.
The clean-shaven man bowed slightly. "Daven Stravos, son of Lord Kaugnar Stravos the Endless, Prince of the Stravos Empire."
I raised a brow. First, I'd heard of such a planet. Stravos — probably the na of one of the Archdemons that escaped from Limbo years ago.
"Never heard of you."
The bearded man snorted. "Why would you have, bumpkin?"
"None of that, Tanos," Daven said dismissively. "It's hardly his fault he's uncultured."
"Because you're so fucking enlightened?" I shot back. "You buy mutants and experint on them."
Tanos sneered. "It's what the mutants were designed for. We're due a harvest."
I set my jaw. It was canon, at least in so tilines, that the Kree had tampered with the human geno a few hundred thousand years ago — creating mutants and then abandoning them when they didn't get the results they desired. 3
His comnt suggested that so among the Kree—at least those who intermingled with Demons—were reconsidering their earlier position, given recent developnts. I hadn't seen this in Mordo's visions.
"This," I said, pointing at all three, "is why I ca after your little clan. Those mutants deserve better. Your deaths won't be swift."
The demon roared, breathing PaleFyre. "I'll burn your flesh and grind your bones to dust!"
Kaugnar tutted. "Hold back your bloodlust. He's far too valuable to just slaughter. Imagine the—"
I teleported in front of him mid-sentence, stabbing out while still cloaked in Ti Warp. The tip of my spear humd with dinsion-splitting energy empowered by five Amplification Runes.
His cloak detonated in a conflagration of PaleFyre. It devoured most of the dinsional energy, but the blade still pierced through and stopped inches from his face — halted by an invisible barrier glowing with purple light and intricate pattern. The prince was flung back into a distant mountain.
Tanos roared, swinging his hamr and releasing a wave of PaleFyre. Wall — my trusty tower shield — materialized in front of , absorbing the impact. I dropped him to his knees by activating a rune on my armor — Gravity Spike — supercharged with five Amplification Runes.
The ground exploded as he plunged beneath the Martian surface, pulverizing stone as he fell.
Wall pivoted just in ti to catch Kessith's overhand strike, opening his guard so I could deliver a Dinsional Slash with my double spear. It split his weapon in half and carved through his chestplate.
Black blood spurted, but he recovered fast, belching another PaleFyre torrent. I opened a portal in front of it, redirecting it toward the prince, who was charging back at at nearly my speed. He looped aside effortlessly, PaleFyre wings flaring.
Hundreds of PaleFyre serpents materialized around him, shrieking as they dove toward . I drew on my fla array, summoning compressed Nether Fireballs and hurling them with a thought while I ducked under Kessith's strike, vaulted over his follow-up swing. His glaive carved through stone like cardboard. I wrapped my Telekinesis around him again as I landed, focusing five Amplification Runes to keep him contained.
I wanted to split the group further and handle them one at a ti, before the fighting really escalated.
Kessith was ready for this ti, though. Fire erupted from every pore, scouring the Martian Surface.
