What will you do if you et an old enemy who does not know yet that he will be your enemy in the future?
Kill them? Coerce them? Make them your friends?
Rise crossed them all out.
What was better?
Of course, make them your subordinates and use them well.
"Guild Leader, I told you I’d show you an amazing show that will greatly interest you." Rise spoke, not leaving his gaze off the ground.
"I did not lie. Look closely, Guild Leader." Slowly he turned to Kamille, his eyes sharp and focused. "You’ll see... what we’re up against."
Kamille did not respond, but his attention was truly captured this ti.
"Damn it," Quin spat out a mouthful of blood, glaring at the crowd who unknowingly surrounded them.
He was not alone, and the sa frustration could be seen in each one of them, except Owen, who was unconscious.
The three looked at the reliable back in front of them—the sa back they were looking up to since they were kids.
Dan, holding his twin daggers, stood protectively before them. His figure was becoming hazy, feeling quite a distance even though he was right in front of them.
"B-Big Brother..." Farrah called out, sweeping his gaze around. She could not help but click her tongue; their situation had beco worse.
Rowan, who had been silent since earlier, could only tighten his grip on Owen that was in his back.
They were higher-ranking Espers, however, their abilities were not exactly fitted for frontal confrontation. His gaze looked around, looking for any opening.
"Everyone..." The deep voice rang beside their ears, emotionless and calm. But this did not faze the three; instead, their hearts sank.
"Big brother—" Before Quin could finish, Dan cut him off.
"Listen to , this is an order."
This statent only made their hearts sink even further. They already knew where this was going.
And sure enough, Dan continued.
"I’ll make a path; use that and escape." Dan raised his dagger, gripping it tightly as he continued with a darker tone, leaving no room for any argunt.
"This is an order." Again, he repeated, making the others flinch, unable to voice out anything as Dan’s back gradually blurred.
Soon he was nowhere to be seen.
Above them, two pairs of eyes were watching what was happening below. The n around them were no pushovers, either. The federation’s statent that the levels of this world were much higher was no exaggeration.
It was indeed the case; in terms of techniques and other things, they were far ahead of them. This was understandable as they were invaded and had been infested by the gates for hundreds of years.
"What do you think of him, Guild Leader?" Rise watched intently.
Dan’s figure could barely be seen by the naked eye; anyti his figure flashed, heads would roll. And new wounds would also appear on his body as he was constantly being attacked while creating a path for his guild mbers.
The others wanted to help; Rise could see how they tried, also taking down a few. However, it could be seen that they were more specialized to one single target rather than a huge crowd.
"He’s not bad." While his tone was rather casual, having earned this simple praise was enough for others to rejoice.
Rise’s low laughter rang; he found it funny that Dan, whose fa would resound in the underground world in the future, was rely not bad.
Thinking that it was Kamille, it also made sense.
"He’s really not bad." Rise agreed. He had the impression of his feats and had to admit that Dan was a terrifying opponent, especially in a situation where his abilities thrived and were enhanced.
Just like now...
Assassins like him loved the darkness of the night.
Watching the fight, the two seed to have no intention of intervening. Kamille was only following Rise and waiting for his next move. The situation was getting bloody, sothing that even stunned the natives.
"Is he... a monster?" The leader of a squad looked at Dan with a conflicted expression, sensing the situation was bad. The three behind him were also not bad, they were fending more than everyone anticipated.
Rise could not help but laugh when he heard that.
A monster? Rise smiled and looked at Dan, who was now soaked with blood from himself and the natives. His expression was still blank, as though the grim reaper had possessed him, busy harvesting lives on the battlefield.
"It’s here..." Rise muttered, he straightened, his eyes glowing with anticipation as blood rushed through his veins, heightening all his senses. "Guild Leader, watch closely; make sure to not miss it."
What he had been waiting for had finally arrived.
Kamille narrowed his eyes, watching intently but not sensing what was different. He could not understand for a while, but his eyes slowly dilated, and his heart seed to pause, and then it beca rapid.
Kamille’s expression grew solemn, observing what was happening with his eyes focused. True Sight was activated.
"Can you see that, Guild Leader?" Rise asked, voice unusually low, devoid of any flirtation.
Kamille nodded, solemn. He could not make sense of all of it, but it was happening before him. And as the confusing words began to appear...

[Character Dan’s back story comncing...]
...Kamille finally showed a surprise; his eyes widened slightly.
Rise glanced at him and smiled.
That was right; the event that was happening in front of them was Dan’s back story, which was also written and recalled in the book. Since, it was Dan’s back story, it might not be a major plot, but it was still a plot, no matter how minor it was.
"This..." Kamille found his words leaving him, a rare occasion.
Rise tightly and grasp his palm through their locked fingers.
"This is our reality." Rise spoke in a mysterious tone that was beginning to make sense but it was still hard to grasp the intensity of his words.
Rise did not know what Kamille saw through his True Sight, but it should give him a clue of what he wanted to convey. Things could not co from his mouth; Rise was aware of his position and what he could handle.
He never even trusted the book so much; he only trusted himself and the people he cherished.
The book said he should not divulge everything to Kamille, and he did not. He only showed him. There was a huge difference.
And by the looks of it, he was successful.
Rise already knew the result of this battle; they were not even halfway there. Dan was a monster, but for how long could he hold out? It did not take long, as they were slowly falling into an even more despairing situation!
The reinforcents of the natives arrived! This was not their world, and espers, while under the banner of being from the sa world, would not help so easily without seeing a benefit from it.
The despair was now written through their faces; there was no way out.
Dan, looking at the situation, heaved a breath, becoming tired. He clenched his fist and looked up while breathing sharply; sweat and blood trickled down from his temple.
What should he do?
He looked behind him; he found himself biting his lips until they bled.
His brothers and sister were now soaking with blood like he was. At so point, Owen had already woken up, and his senses seed out of it still, but he was fighting alongside them.
Fuck.
Dan cursed; the enemies seed endless. He did not know how many he had killed. And they had yet to escape; no, he could not even give his family a path so they could escape.
Dan clenched his teeth, his exhaustion was already ssing with his footing, and so of his movents were off resulting in so of the attacks landing on him.
He could not give up. They need to live.
And if Rise could hear his thoughts, he would definitely say...
No, you’re the only one who lived.
Dan’s backstory seed the typical one, but that did not an it hurt any less for the one involved. The party was wiped out, save for himself.
His story started from there, founding the biggest nace the federation had encountered. Dan had held a grudge against the federation, blaming them because of the failures of the rings, which was very reasonable.
If not for the failures of the rings, they could return safely. No one would have died.
Things would go in the original direction... If only, Rise was not here. Dan’s family would be killed, and his fate would be sealed from then on. That also ant... eting Epsilon.
"Guild Leader, I always ask this..." Rise mumbled again, the pressure around him becoming heavier. "...how satisfying it can be to fight fate?"
Rise laughed, "Cliche right?"
Kamille felt a tap, which he understood as they slowly approached the scene.
[Danger] and [Error] then began to appear in Kamille’s vision the more they got closer to the scene.

This repeated countless tis before Kamille’s vision until it stopped and new words appeared.
This appeared when...
Rise hovering above everyone with Kamille, like a bomb, an overwhelming pressure swept everyone.
"Hello, everyone. Please excuse us."
A new record is being created...
Record failed. Unrecorded Data.]
Now, Kamille knew the aning of that label.
[Unrecorded]
That word kept flashing above Rise’s head.
