Epsilon was such a hateable character, who only knew how to take advantage of his plot armor. Or maybe Rise was only biased. It did not matter. He hated Epsilon so much that he did not care even if Epsilon’s character was crafted by the author.
Both of them could rot in hell.
Unfortunately, Rise had no way to deal with the author right now. Instead of looking that far, dealing with soone tangible was much easier.
The problem was that he also did not know where Epsilon was at this mont. Rise was not aware of how that person ca to be. Finding him in their world did not provide results, how weird that may be, but that was the truth.
So, it ca to Rise’s mind. Then, what if, Epsilon ca from another world instead? He did not have any backstory for Rise to pry from, making it harder to pinpoint the other’s current location.
In the past few days, he had already thought it, but had yet to take action. Kamille was with him, and Rise did not want to search for the other party in his presence.
Just imagining Kamille saying Epsilon’s words or asking about him was enough for Rise to spiral out of control. His emotions could be easily triggered by that scenario.
Epsilon was not just his nesis; he was the embodint of Rise’s despair and resentnt. The character favored by destiny and the world. Soone in great contrast to him, the villain. The one abandoned and shouldered destruction upon his birth.
Rise’s expression was devoid of any emotions; gone was the playful smirk that usually lingered on his lips. If anything, he looked ready to fight a formidable enemy.
He looked too serious, an expression that would surprise Kamille if he witnessed it.
A heavy atmosphere hung in the air and spread around the room. Rise looked at the terminal in front of him and took a deep breath. Deep inside, he was anxious, for he had no way of knowing if searching for Epsilon’s na could affect the fate and give a phenonon just like when he saved those assassin guys.
"Are you here or not?" Rise muttered under his breath.
In the end, he opted not to search Epsilon’s na directly, wary of the world and people monitoring his actions. He searched Epsilon’s power type. Even in their world, it was a rare power, and records were scarce.
Telekinesis.
For other perspectives, it might seem like he was only curious about power types, as before this, he also searched for the elentals and the most common esper power types.
Sure enough, the records of the telekinesis users popped up at the very top. It was always a public record, and only in special cases would the governnt decide to privatize a record.
Rise skimd on the nas; more than half of the nas were familiar to him, since it was the sa as their world. But... Rise’s brow instantly creased after reading the nas.
"None... he isn’t here?"
How co? Was epsilon also not in this world?
Rise stared at the nas, where Epsilon’s na was nowhere to be found. There were only two possibilities. He was not here, and that Epsilon did not have telekinesis as his power.
The latter was impossible, so it could only be the forr.
Damn. Rise chewed on his lips, frustrated. Where the hell are you?
His hands continued to type, terms that were connected to the past Epsilon or to those he had relationships with. Minutes passed, and Rise was increasingly getting annoyed.
"It’s a dead end again, huh?" he muttered between gritted teeth.
Rise leaned back and tapped on the surface of the terminal, resting his eyes. He looked at the wall, accepting the current situation.
"This world... is an illusion or real?"
Rise and Kamille did not put an end to the answer to that question. Even now, he still did not know what to believe between the two. It was easier to think of all this as an illusion, but everything felt too real.
And his intuition told him it was not simple. Kamille’s reaction of not giving a definite answer also proved that. They would eventually venture out, finding how to clear of leaving this gate.
Letting out a sigh, Rise returned his gaze to the screen and scrolled absentmindedly. There were all sorts of articles, and so of them lacked substance or were rely rumors that the dia just published for views.
He sneered. Even though the world was ending, these guys still knew how to create trouble against Espers, huh? They should be assigned to the frontlines so they could experience what it was like fighting to defend humanity in the front lines, where a lot of espers were either getting injured or killed.
Since searching for Epsilon online was deed fruitless, Rise would not dwell on that too much. That bastard truly was his nesis, making all his efforts worthless.
He only scrolled without any plan in mind. It was so, until an article caught his attention.
"What is this?"
He clicked on it. The article then appeared in full view. Rise tilted his head in confusion. What?
"This is a noble article."
Since when has the dia also reported about the nobles? In their world, nobles were actually confidential information. Sure, the citizens were aware that there were beings beyond the gates, but the governnt did not publicize their identity to not arousing curiosity and increasing fear.
And the union or the governnt did not have a lot of information about nobles, rarely having interactions. But on second thought, it made sense as well. After all, this world’s noble invasion was deeper than their world.
Rise decided to read it in full, as even five years in the future, their world did not have such articles. Nobles were also his enemies.
He did not expect much, thinking it was just gossip, but the more he read, the crease of his brows continued to tighten until he frowned heavily.
"The world fissure stretched, and a noble of unknown identity erged. His face and figure were shrouded by a dark, mysterious fire. Only a pair of terrifying, dark crimson pupils could be seen, sending terror to those who witnessed his arrival."
Rise read it out loud, for he felt like his mind could not process them alone without saying it. Like it only more real if he heard it from his voice.
"Guild... Leader?" Rise’s first thought of mind after reading this description. This was like his Guildleader’s extre side, right?
Wait, in this world, Kamille was a noble? What, that... was crazy.
