Wait a mont.
Rise’s words left him, and he could only stare at Riri with such an astounded expression that it even made him stop crying, though his eyes were still filled with tears.
It could not be helped. Rise was just too dumbfounded by what was happening; he never expected this at all. And so, he was speechless and could only look at Riri and think of the reason this happened.
Maybe because Riri was special? He could glimpse through destiny, after all.
"Riri," he called the little monster’s na softly. He nodded as an answer. So, Rise continued. "Can you rember everything?" He still decided to ask to confirm.
Again, Riri nodded cutely and began to sniffle again, holding back his tears. "I... I’m so scared. I wake up then... then... I’m back here." The experience seed so bad to recall that Riri could not help it anymore, and fresh tears fell down his cheeks again.
Rise quickly crouched and t Riri’s eyes on the sa level and comforted him. "I’m sorry," he apologized first and held Riri’s soft and little hands. "I didn’t know... but, don’t worry, it won’t happen again."
He would make sure of it. As if he failed this ti, Rise did not know if he would be lucky to be aware again next reset. If so, what would happen to Riri here?
Rise did not know that while he never trusted others much, he was fond of monsters he wanted to keep as pets. And, not to ntion, Riri was soone he beca attached to and truly thought of as part of his family.
When he returned, he was already thinking of speed running what he did, and Rise made fetching Riri his priority first. Along the way, he was going through scenarios in his head on how to persuade Riri again to co with him. He even thought that if things got worse, he would kidnap him. Not like Riri had a combat power.
Fortunately, that did not happen. Still, it was quite a pleasant surprise that Riri rembered.
The two now ventured to the item’s whereabouts again. Rise holding Riri, who had transford into the appearance he had last ti. They did not take a lot of ti, as for so reason, Riri could easily deduce the location of the ring.
After getting it once again, Rise prepared to leave.
"Rise..." Riri called in a soft tone while they were on the road. Unlike Kamille, they did not have the sa convenience of flying in the sky.
The two were now sitting at the back of a behemoth that was quickly traversing to the next city. Baby was also feasting along the way.
"What is it?" He looked at Riri sitting on his lap.
"Um, will we go to him?" he asked carefully and soon lowered his head, upon sensing how Rise stiffened. Riri might have thought he asked the wrong question.
"Oh, don’t feel guilty." He consoled again. Rise looked at the horizon, as if looking at the red zone where Kamille was supposed to be at this ti.
He gave a sad smile and shook his head. "For now, we can’t."
"Un?" Riri seed confused as to why.
Rise caressed his hair, tone softening. "He won’t rember us anyway." The bitter tone could not be concealed. But then he lightly laughed. "I’ll give him a few weeks to be without , cause there won’t be a next ti."
If he was suspicious last ti, then this ti, Rise would make sure Kamille would be driven crazy by him. His seduction skills were up a topnotch this ti around.
Oh, poor Rise, he was in for a surprise. But for now, he had yet to know that and now stopped by at a yellow zone managed by a small guild. Using his baby to traverse the world would be uneconomical; it would only tire his precious pet.
Fortunately, this small guild had a public aircraft stationed, and while the tickets were expensive due to its small size, Rise managed to get two. He could afford it just fine.
He did not even stay, and once the flight was confird, he decided to get the earliest one. Rise was pressed for ti and had to go through a lot in a short amount of ti.
Rise preferred to repeat so things earlier than doing them later on so he could focus on more important matters.
At the green zone, only second to the capital. Rise thought for a while before deciding not to bring Riri to the capital. Although Riri’s disguise could not be easily seen through, he played it safer. Not only was Riri a monster, but being associated with him easily led to being scrutinized. Rise was famous throughout the Federation, but his na was more renowned in the capital, where the Union headquarters were.
At least here, his property had more privacy and was concealed. Rise did not like buying real estate, but it was not the sa for his cheap adoptive father, who gifted him properties left and right as if the market value of houses in Green Zones were cheap.
Rise could not even count how many properties he had, as he only stayed in the dorm since most of the ti he was on a gate raiding team. Probably, this one property was the only one he frequented when he thought of taking a break sotis.
Riri looked around, his eyes glittering with excitent.
"Rise... are we staying here?"
Rise smiled, feeling the burden and frustrations he was feeling ease slightly.
"Yes, do you like it?"
Riri grinned, unable to conceal his anticipation. "Un!"
Rise laughed and finally took him inside.
It was a two-story house, though not huge, and it had a comfortable ambiance. It was situated in a suburb and was surrounded by preserved trees.
Maybe the reason Riri also began to love it was this. They were like in a forest, albeit a small one, which only stretched a few kiloters. Green Zones could afford to have this because of the environnt and being safe enough. Otherwise, they risked being potential monster nests.
There were three caretakers, and he was hired by his father. All year round, they were taking care of the house, so it was clean and did not look abandoned.
Of course, since they were also technically using it as a ho as the owner rarely ca.
So, now that he arrived, they were first surprised but were soon organized to welco Rise and Riri. The oldest man, the butler, took a glance at Riri but did not ask.
"Young Master, welco ho." He smiled and greeted, a professional one. Rise comnded him for not twitching his lips. In fact, all three were there. They were also union espers but were now retired, and his father just used so of them to take care of Rise’s houses.
Rise did not have the ti to exchange pleasantries, though.
He nodded, acknowledging their presence. "Please cook us dinner, oh, make sure to include lots of dishes." Riri loved variety in his food.
After saying that, he left and took Riri to his new room.
