Rise blinked and then narrowed his eyes to confirm that what he was seeing was right. It was definitely a book page. An empty book page.

Kamille noticed his fixated gaze sowhere, turning his gaze to see where Rise was looking. Unlike Rise, however, he was not seeing a book page but just a white ball of light.

"It’s the world’s origin," Kamille thought that Rise was purely amazed by the sight. Although this was the first ti seeing Rise beca fascinated by sothing to the point of staring at it so deeply.

Kamille’s voice woke him up from his thoughts, and Rise returned his gaze to his side. They were still sitting on the chairs, and their position had not moved either.

It was only that everything disappeared except for them.

"It’s the world’s origin?" Rise absentmindedly repeated his words.

Kamille’s brow arched up, his hands reaching out to knead the back of Rise’s neck. "Yes. Is there sothing wrong?" He could not help but ask. Noticing Rise acting so lost.

"Nothing... really." Rise swept his eyes around as though checking if their conversation might be heard by others.

It should be... safe, right? After all, this was also where the book was located, sowhere here. It should be a boundary of sothing, and no one could eavesdrop on them.

Thinking of this, Rise lowered his voice.

"Guild Leader," he called. Kamille naturally discerned that Rise had sothing to say to him. He simply nodded, indicating for the other to continue.

Rise pointed at the book page.

"Tell what you see." First, he had to make sure both of them were seeing the sa thing, or at least, sothing was there.

It should be.

Kamille glanced at it for a second before shifting back again to Rise.

"A ball of light," Kamille responded without asking anything. He simply said what he was seeing.

Surprised, Rise took a quick glance at the book page again. Well, he initially also saw it as a ball of light before it took the form of a book page.

Why was he seeing its ’real’ form? Or was it its real form?

Rise thought that it might be because of his few encounters with the book. Whatever the reason was, he was seeing another form there other than a ball of light, which Kamille could see.

He did not let his mind wander for too long or make Kamille wait for him. Rise carefully told him what he was seeing in the place of the ball of light.

"You see a book page?"

Rise nodded. "Yes. The world’s origin is taking the shape of a book page. What does it an?" He paused and lowered his voice even further.

It was as though even if he were almost certain no one could eavesdrop on their conversation, Rise was still wary.

"It ans there’s really a connection to the book." Of course, this was only an assumption.

However, seeing a book page made it hard not to associate it with the book. As for what was their connection? That was sothing they had to figure out.

Kamille kneaded the back of Rise’s neck as he began to be lost in thought. He considered Rise’s hunch. As soone who interacted with the book, Kamille took his words seriously.

Rise liked the gesture so much that he relaxed his body. He waited for Kamille to sort out his thoughts. If he could purr, then he already did. It was that satisfying.

"You said before that this world had a connection to the plot?"

Rise nodded.

Kamille stared at him; they stared at each other.

"World’s origin being a book page..." Their gazes seed to freeze mid-air; their thoughts collided at that point.

It was not certain, but there definitely was so sort of connection with the book. Maybe they should try to take over another world to compare and check if the world’s origin was also a book page.

"Let’s declare ownership first." Rise did not make Kamille continue his words, as both already understood.

Guessing and shit would lead to nowhere but wasting ti; they might as well confirm sothing after declaring this world origin as theirs.

Who knows... they might hurt the author with this move. There was no way to know about the results, though. Rise could only celebrate a win and wished for the author’s destruction while he was at it.

Kamille and Rise held hands as the space seed to expand, or more like they only got closer to the world’s origin. The world’s consciousness was no more, and it was empty.

There was no way to know about its content before, or if there was any to begin with.

The white space engulfed them, and the book page, which was a ball of light in Kamille’s eyes, moved and floated above them. It then beca so bright that both were forced to shut their eyes.

The light enveloped them, or more like the page enveloped them. There was no sensation at all. Rise opened his eyes slightly and then closed them again when he saw that it was still blindingly bright.

He was reminded of that book’s first appearance. It was also this bright before.

Since neither could observe what was happening, the two did not see how the book page slowly shrank until it entered both of their bodies.

Right. For so reason, the book pages were still whole when it entered the two. As for its principle, who knew? It was sothing they would need to explore for later.

Rise only felt sothing as though he was connected with sothing, but it was very faint.

"It’s done."

Rise heard Kamille’s voice, prompting him to open his eyes.

He blinked, and he was greeted by the eting hall again. The ti was still frozen. Rise frowned and observed himself.

"Is that it?" Rise looked incredulously at Kamille. He did not expect it to be so... underwhelming.

He was expecting so kind of miraculous effects or sothing.

Kamille also found it strange, but as this was their first ti conquering a world’s origin, he could not compare. The inheritance did not have any records about it.

Rise observed himself once more and then shrugged.

Whatever. At least, they were done here. Exploring what happened could be done later.

He looked around and grinned.

"We actually did it."

They truly took over the world. He turned to Kamille again, and his grin widened. "This world is ours."

Woah. The reality finally sank in.

Kamille’s lips automatically curled into a smile, seeing Rise’s excited expression.

To be able to see such a smile, everything was worth it.

The two began their next steps. Unaware of the storm they had caused.

To an unknown place to them...

"What... w-what is this?" As though the screen had its own life, it completely deleted page after page.

"No! No... ple—cough..." She quickly covered her mouth, and when she saw it, her eyes widened.

It was blood. Her eyes darted around to the screen and to her hand. Soon, she was coughing a mouthful of blood once more. Her body weakened, and a few strands of her hair turned white.

Her body curled, pain assaulting her body. The torture only stopped when the screen beca peaceful once more.

The room fell into silence, and the woman only stared at the screen. Her eyes hollowed, and the weakness was visible in her pale face.

"It’s them... again..."

It happened before. The woman clenched her bloodied teeth.

Slowly, she gripped her hair, and she stared at the screen with extre loathing.

"It’s either you or ..."

Her life had unknowingly beco tied to this godforsaken novel. She had to survive.

The woman clenched her fists.

She did not want to die so...

Rise... must die.
