Rise really thought it was not a bad idea at all. And so he bravely repeated it. For consideration, he just whispered it enough for Kamille not to hear and not to be eavesdropped by the staff on the phone.
"I can be your secretary."
For so reason, it ca off as a statent rather than an offer or a request.
His behavior sounded absurd from a normal perspective, but for so reason, as it was Rise saying it, his words always seed to match him. Kamille thought the sa.
He stared at Rise without answering as the staff on the other end of the line continued waiting. Not averting his gaze, he spoke, "That’s all. Get it ready in two days."
Kamille then finally ended the call. His deep, intimidating gaze stared at Rise, as though curious about what was inside his brain, tempted to tear it open.
"You want to be my secretary?" Kamille’s lips twitched slightly, it sounded more ridiculous to him when he said it out loud.
He was convinced. Rise had a way to capture his attention but also make him doubt whether he was just crazy.
"Uhuh." Rise nodded, crossing his arms confidently, and explained. "Think about it. Since, I’m already your personal guide, it just makes sense for to be your personal secretary, right?"
No, it did not make sense at all.
Kamille could not help but touch the space between his brows and stroke it slightly. After a second of pause, he sighed. "You know that being my personal guide is different from being my secretary."
Rise appeared unconvinced, or that he did not care of any logic at all.
"Well, since as your personal guide, I need to always be by your side. And so, I can assist you with your work as well. It’s better and more efficient that way."
Kamille imdiately knew that Rise’s knowledge of the secretary’s work was only superficial at most. Being a personal secretary did not an they could be with the guild leader at all tis. More often than not, they did not have a chance to do so.
The nature of their job was indeed to assist the guild leader, but with doing all the brunt work, and often ran around to zones. And it did not need to be one secretary, but the most efficient was the team of secretaries.
"You don’t need to be my secretary to assist ." To not make this topic go to more chaotic places, which Rise could absolutely do, Kamille thought of the best way to subtly reject the idea while also giving a suggestion.
This ti, Rise paused. He sighed inwardly. He really thought he would be able to hoodwink Kamille this ti. Was it a bit exciting to play so kind of Guild Leader and his secretary office love affair?
It was a pity.
Rise could only agree this ti. And asking about being a secretary was more like a spur of the mont thing. He was not too disappointed.
"You’re also right, Guild Leader."
Deep inside, Kamille sighed with relief. He could only imagine how chaotic it would be if he agreed to make Rise his secretary.
The topic about it was then ended, or maybe just postponed for now.
As Rise spent his day with Kamille and adapted himself again with the Guild or more like, let the Guild adapt to him, in the blink of an eye, he already spent another two days in the Guild.
It was almost a week since his rebirth.

The A-rank gate between two yellow zones was a famous destination for Espers. Not everyone had a guild, and even if they had, they ca from a small guild that did not even have the qualifications to guard a yellow zone.
Guilds and the Union had strict requirents with rank and also regulations; for those who did not have to be tied down by the rules too much or were incapable of being shortlisted as mbers, they only had three choices.
To be an affiliate for the underground world, to beco part of a rcenary, or to beco an Esper without any affiliations. The majority of them chose the first option, then the second, with the least choosing the last option. Unless one did not see any future to beco an Esper or did not want to fight life and death every ti, they would only choose to enter gates from ti to ti.
And gates that allowed these non-affiliated Espers were what everyone called public gates. Every registered Esper was allowed to enter the gates.
Public gates had an easier threshold and lax rules, and even with such a high rank, even C-rank could get inside as long as they were in a party.
The disadvantage was it was far crowded, and almost all valuable stuff was already looted. Yet, in a way, it was also its advantage. The more people there were, the less danger they would encounter.
At this ti, this public gate suddenly experienced a huge wave of visitors. Usually, it was always normal to have the gate crowded, but that was for visiting Espers planning to go and challenge the gate.
However, at this mont, sothing was definitely unusual.
"What is going on?" A young girl asked a tall yet thin man.
He scratched his head and shook his head; his cheeks blushed. "I don’t know."
The girl rolled her eyes, feeling disgusted, she imdiately withdrew a little and asked again. This ti to other mbers of the party. "There are so many reporters, do you know what’s going on?"
She directly asked the leader of their party now. A woman with a voluptuous figure and attractive appearance. She held a staff in her right hand.
It was obvious at a glance, that she was a magical or elental type Esper.
She also glanced at the reporters, crowding at the entrance of the gate. Her eyes narrowed, and she guessed it imdiately.
"A famous person is coming." This much was obvious. She also felt excited, and continued. "It might be a famous mber from the top guilds." Her voice was not low at all, and those around her clearly heard her.
A lot of the Espers around also noticed and speculated the sa.
"Oh?" The girl’s eyes twinkled, feeling excited as well. "Who could it be?"
Now, that was the only question. Who could it be? Judging by the number of reporters and also the waiting staff from the Union, this person was not only famous but also influential.
Could it be an officer from the top guild? This was a possibility.
The woman, while feeling the sa, fell silent. She always knew that the topnotched Espers were different from small figures like them, but she was often reminded each ti of how distant their status was.
Everyone, even those already planning to step inside the gate, found them waiting for the important person.
For those small figures like them, it was not always they could encounter the bigwigs of the federation. After all, those top guilds had territories with gates they could raid alone, and if they wanted one outside, they could just purchase it.
It was rare for them to also raid a public gate, especially a gate with little value.
"Are they here?"
"Wait, are you sure of the news?"
"I don’t know... Maybe it’s fake?"
Even the reporters seed to be beginning to doubt the reliability of the news. Since the two involved were unlikely to visit this gate. One had a prestigious identity and could even enter any resourceful gate he wished. While the other... they could not comnt.
This was a person with unpredictable thinking matters, but this gate seed not dangerous or interesting enough to capture that person’s attention.
Although in doubt, no one left their position and continued waiting. No matter how unrealistic the news, since that person was involved, they had to be there!
Especially since it was rumored he would be raiding the gate with his Guild Leader!
A few minutes later, it seed that everyone did not waste their ti waiting. A flying aircraft could be seen arriving. It was larger and more advanced than the aircraft Rise used when arriving in the red zone.
The aircraft then slowly descended, under the gawking gazes of the crowd.
"Dark Crimson!" One gasped, seeing the logo on the aircraft.
"Fuck... Is it really that person?" Another one seed to realize.
The dia present also began to beco active. However, for an inexplicable reason, they seed far too calm or behave than their usual behavior when waiting to get any interviews.
So of these reporters began sweating, obviously experienced dealing with the one they were waiting for.
Not for long, and the door of the aircraft opened, and the newcor beca visible to everyone’s eyes. As though using the stairs was inconvenient, the two levitated through the air and only slowly descended, not far from the gate and in front of the Union booth.
Their appearance, everyone present could recognize.
With his familiar, cold yet calm expression, the Guild Leader of Dark Crimson Guild, Kamille Han, looked imposing as ever. His presence commanded awe but also a dominating air that made one hesitate to even stare at him for longer than a second.
Kamille’s face was widely known, being a Guild Leader of the top guild and also an S-class Esper. It seed no one was ignorant enough to not know his na or appearance.
However, most of the people could not help but stiffen and subconciously make their presence low, afraid to be noticed.
The person beside Kamille, while smiling gently and looking so friendly, everyone seed to have the sa view.
It was all but a facade.
Rise Lee, the ever-resounding na; he was such a unique Esper famous far and wide, indeed.
