Now reading: Chapter 47: Red Epic Item from In the Ordinary Streets of Tokyo, I Awakened as a Player, a Action novel by FanficLord03.

Asagiri slid his finger across the screen and began reading the detailed descriptions of their completion rewards.

[Cursed Vampiric Rope Dart (Quality: Purple, Excellent): A sharp rope dart five ters long, linked by a tal chain. The material is unknown, but it seems infused with curse power and carries the special property of damaging spirits. When dealing damage with this weapon, if the enemy is a physical creature, stamina is restored based on damage dealt. If the enemy is a spirit, ntal power is restored based on damage dealt]

[Ever changing Mask (Quality: Gray, Cannot Be Appraised): Exclusive equipnt for the special profession Diplomat. When worn, it changes patterns according to your choice and enhances corresponding diplomatic rhetoric, such as threatening, inducing, and advising effects]

[King's Gambit (Skill): Can bind with another Player after obtaining their consent (no limit on number of bindings). By consuming a certain amount of ntal power, you may instantly swap positions with a bound Player]

[Skill Restriction: Maximum effective range is fifteen ters. When activating the skill, the bound Player must be within your line of sight]

[Hourglass of Reversal (One ti Item, Red Epic Quality): A pocket watch imbued with special power. Press the button above the watch to rewind ti by one minute]

[Note: After use, ti will rewind to one minute ago. All Players retain their mories from before the rewind. Players who died within that minute will be resurrected, and all physical injuries sustained within that minute will disappear. However, ntal power and stamina cannot be restored. If the holder dies, the rewind will automatically activate]

Asuna, standing beside him, had already been stunned by the first two pieces of equipnt.

By the ti she read King's Gambit, she was practically frozen.

And when she reached Hourglass of Reversal…

"Am I hallucinating?"

She raised a hand and rubbed her eyes hard. They stung, the kind of sore you got from staying awake too long, but she was fully conscious. Her vision was fine.

"One minute ti rewind? It triggers automatically if the holder dies? And… it can resurrect dead Players?"

She looked at the screen again like it might change out of embarrassnt.

Her expression wasn't exaggerated. The effect was just that outrageous.

What was this supposed to be?

True resurrection.

A chance to roll everything back one minute and try again.

And then there was the color.

"Red Epic quality?"

Asuna had already searched up the usual ga color rankings. From what she'd seen so far, it went from White Common to Blue Excellent to Purple Excellent, and then the next step should have been Orange Legendary.

So why did it skip straight to Red Epic?

No, forget the color. With an effect like this, one that could resurrect you and your teammates just by rewinding ti…

Was an item like this even supposed to exist at this stage?

This wasn't strong. This was absurd.

"It's alright," Asagiri said.

That single sentence almost made Asuna short circuit.

You call this "alright"?

"What rewards did you get?" he asked.

"Mine…"

When Asuna first saw her own rewards, she'd been so happy she nearly floated.

After comparing them to Asagiri's, she wilted like a plant left in the freezer. Wordlessly, she handed him her phone.

"See for yourself."

Asagiri took it and skimd the content. Her completion rating and the app's comnts were mostly similar to his, except for the part about subduing a Persona.

Even the wording was different.

He was listed as the leader of the operation to eliminate the source of the Anomaly, while Asuna had participated in the operation.

Asuna's rewards this ti were a unique talent unlock and a skill.

[Unique Talent: Flash]

[Talent Effect: For every enemy you kill, your agility, speed, and reflexes will be strengthened according to the opponent's strength rating)]

[Obtained Skill: Stinger]

[Stinger: Consus a large amount of ntal and physical energy to thrust a sword energy slash that flashes with white light from your blade. Power scales directly with your speed. Maximum effective range: ten ters]

"A unique talent and a skill…"

Asagiri returned her phone, then spoke softly, his tone turning analytical.

"This confirms two things. First, even if two Players get an S rating, their rewards won't be on the sa level."

He looked at her steadily.

"Second, the rewards aren't random. They're based on individual performance in the Dungeon and what the system thinks you need."

Asuna's eyes narrowed slightly, already sensing where he was going.

"When I was fighting that Floating Corpse Evil Spirit," Asagiri continued, "did you think that if you had a long range attack, you wouldn't have to stand there watching, worrying about that corrosive sli splashing out every ti it moved?"

Asuna wasn't slow. She understood instantly.

"You an… because I urgently wanted a ranged option, the system gave a skill that lets attack from a distance, without getting close?"

"Exactly." Asagiri nodded.

"And for , soone with the Persona talent, I don't really need more direct attack skills right now. So the system gave the rope dart, which can be used from range and also replenishes stamina or ntal power."

He lifted one finger, counting them off.

"Mask equipnt that boosts Diplomat negotiations. King's Gambit, which expands our tactical options and has huge potential. And as a final safety net for sudden danger, Hourglass of Reversal, which lets us reset."

He paused, then smiled faintly.

"Of course, it's not just those rewards. There's also this."

He swiped his phone and opened the Player level page in the eye icon app.

Asuna leaned closer.

The mont she saw the privileges he'd unlocked after becoming a high level Player, her eyes widened.

[High Level Player Privilege 1: Each ti you actively sign up to enter a Dungeon, you will receive multiple keywords representing that Dungeon's the. You may choose one keyword to enter the corresponding Dungeon (friends may be brought along)]

[Privilege 2: Each ti you clear a Dungeon and obtain an S rating, you may limit the reward scope according to your will. For example, you may choose the number of rewards (fewer rewards ans higher value, more rewards ans lower average value), and you may limit the reward type (items, skills, weapons, armor, accessories)]
