Boom!!——
As Jiang Dali and his companions sank their Qi and descended from mid-air, the Demon Dragon with its head full of green hair also flew backward, opening its glistening fanged mouth, letting out a joyful growl as it darted into the river below, dancing wildly in excitent as it churned the waters.
Although a creature capable of traversing land, water, and air, the Demon Dragon actually spends most of its ti in water and prefers vast water sources. Its ability to soar through the sky on clouds is its least remarkable trait.
While the Demon Dragon’s flight speed is extrely fast, it entirely relies on controlling Heaven and Earth Power for flying, and often needs a half-day rest after an hour of flight. Conversely, in water, it can move freely for a long ti, and its strength increases significantly.
As such, for his plan to subdue the Fire Qilin on this trip, Jiang Dali decided to have the Demon Dragon lie in ambush in the river, so that once the Fire Qilin was successfully lured out, the Demon Dragon could entangle it in the water, ensuring success through this mutual exchange.
"Master Jiang!"
"I am Ziyang of Wudang, greetings, Master Jiang! I’ve long admired your great na!"
"Amitabha Buddha! I am Huiqi, the monk, greetings to Master Jiang!"
At the entrance to Lingyun Cave, people from both the Wudang and Shaolin sects greeted Jiang Dali, then exchanged a few polite words with Dongfang Bubai and others.
Jiang Dali graciously returned the greetings with a smile, his gaze settling on the monk Huiqi. His eyes were locked onto the Zen-filled eyes of the monk, his tone slightly admiring but also probing, "The world knows that Shaolin harbors many hidden talents, yet I underestimated its depth. I thought it would be the divine monk Hui Yun coming to Lingyun Cave. Unexpectedly, there is another expert like you, Master Huiqi, and my ignorance is truly exposed."
Huiqi laughed lightly at this, appearing leisurely and effortlessly dispelled the probing power of Jiang Dali with its ethereal serenity. Joining his hands together, he said, "Master Jiang is too humble. It is not that you are ignorant; rather, we old monks seldom tread the Martial World. It’s normal that people in the Martial World do not know of us. Initially, there was nothing, so where can dust settle?"
As they spoke, the two locked eyes.
Both sensed the formidable montum in each other, seemingly flawless.
In Jiang Dali’s eyes, the power of the primordial spirit within Huiqi’s eyes was continuous, vast and grand, like an ever-revolving cycle filled with the supre reverence and detachnt of the Western Heavenly World, untiringly cycling back and forth, almost reaching the final barrier of the primordial spirit layer to the Returning to Truth stage, yet ultimately stuck at the last step.
And in Huiqi’s eyes, Jiang Dali’s eyes were like fiery teors blazing through outer skies, leaving no trace, freely galloping, untad and boundless, as if the normal trajectory of heavens could not determine his unpredictable fate, exuding a rebellious essence.
Their gaze seed to exchange ideologies, completing a simple ntal confrontation and assessnt of each other’s strength.
All the others present felt their Qi chanism Sensing being affected, as if their spirits were drawn and attracted during that mont of eye contact between the two, inexplicably growing tense throughout their bodies. The surrounding air seed to stagnate, and the atmosphere was solemn.
But the next mont, Jiang Dali laughed heartily, quickly shattering the oppressive atmosphere of stagnant air, "Haha, a great one indeed, Initially, there was nothing, so where can dust settle!"
Jiang Dali’s eyes shone brightly, nodding as he shifted the topic, "In the past, I once encountered a naless Sweeping Monk from your Shaolin, who, a year ago, had the strength of the Heavenly Human 9th Realm. I fought him, but he was unwilling to engage deeply, eventually leaving, and it ended in regret.
Afterward, that old monk departed, and there’s been no news since. Does Master Huiqi have any impression of this person?"
"A naless Sweeping Monk with strength in the Heavenly Human 9th Realm?"
Huiqi’s eyes showed surprise, then he shook his head with a wry smile, "Though I have not been out for years, there aren’t many with such strength and habits in our Shaolin. I might have guessed it; he’s a junior brother of sorts, though he entered the monastery late and is quite reclusive.
Now that I think about it, with his talent and Buddha nature, he must have broken through into the Returning to Truth Realm. Knowing his character, if he broke through, who knows where he would have gone into seclusion..."
Everyone listening was filled with awe, secretly noting that Shaolin’s profound foundation, teeming with strong practitioners, was indeed unmatched even by Wudang, renowned yet of shorter establishnt.
Realizing Huiqi’s repeated use of "this one," Jiang Dali knew the old monk was unwilling to discuss the Sweeping Monk in detail. Just like in the past with Du Nan, Du Jie, and others, Master Jiang snorted coldly and turned towards the entrance of Lingyun Cave, "Alright, let’s not dwell on trivial people and idle talk. We are gathered here to capture the Fire Qilin within Lingyun Cave. I will now describe the battle plan and divisions of labor once more. If anyone has any opinions, feel free to voice them."
Upon hearing this, the crowd agreed.
Jiang Dali said, "I have inford both Wudang and Shaolin that capturing the Fire Qilin requires so to be ready outside to prevent it from returning to the cave after being lured. Moreover, soone must accompany inside to aid and assist from the side.
Now it seems, the person best suited for assisting and supporting should be you, Master Huiqi?"
Though Huiqi’s strength is not on par with Hui En, he is still a great master with the Heavenly Human Ninth Realm’s Three Flowers condensed, just a step away from Returning to Truth.
Although this step is like crossing a celestial moat, he indeed qualifies as a great expert. Even facing the Fire Qilin alone, he has the ability to confront it directly. Being selected as an assistance and support choice is indeed fitting.
