The dark purple light of the Desolation Blade cast sharp, angular shadows across the grotto walls before fading back into the obsidian steel. Kai turned the weapon in his hand, marveling at the sheer balance. A weapon of D-Rank tier was a rarity for first-year students, typically reserved for elite heirs of major corporations or noble factions who inherited ancestral relics. To forge one out of a broken academy training sword and the corpse of a localized dungeon boss was an achievent that defied the established laws of magical smithing.

With the new weapon firmly in his grasp, Kai focused inward, prompting his status page to surface once more.

INFINITE EVOLUTION SYSTEM

> Host: Kai Raven

> Level: 3 (230/400 EXP)

> Talent: Eye of the Primordial Sovereign (SSS-Rank)

> HP: 140/140

> MP: 14/14

> Strength: 14 ( 15 from Desolation Blade)

> Agility: 15 ( 4 from Shadow-Tread Boots, 5 from Desolation Blade)

> Endurance: 13

> Evolution Points (EP): 2

His total effective Strength was now twenty-nine, and his Agility sat comfortably at twenty-four. To put it into perspective, a typical Tier-1 dungeon vanguard graduation requirent was a base attribute score of twenty. Kai was already outperforming elite third-year students, and his awakening had occurred less than twenty-four hours ago.

"The eastern zone should have a hidden chamber if the map layout follows standard structural geotry," Kai murmured to himself.

He didn't head back toward the upper levels where the students were gathered. The tir on his survival badge showed slightly less than two hours remaining before the automated recall array would force everyone out of the dungeon rift. Returning now would an facing a barrage of questions from the instructors, an inevitable confrontation with Leo's uncle, and the prying eyes of the academy board.

Kai preferred to build his foundation in the dark, away from their ledgers and restrictions.

He pushed forward into the unmapped tunnels. The path grew narrower, forcing him to duck beneath heavy clusters of jagged, razor-sharp stalactites that hung like teeth from the cavern roof. The dampness in the air transford into a suffocating, freezing chill. The standard-issue linen cloak he wore began to frost over at the edges, but his increased Endurance stat of thirteen kept his core temperature stable, preventing his muscles from stiffening.

Suddenly, his SSS-Rank talent humd at the back of his mind, sending a sharp prickle of static electricity down his spine.

An anomaly.

Kai stopped instantly, lting into a crevice between two frozen boulders. His eyes pulsed with a deep violet hue as he activated the scanner function of his trait, peering through the dense stone ahead.

Fifty yards away, the narrow cavern tunnel opened into a massive, pristine chamber that looked entirely different from the rough, jagged nature of the Goblin Caves. The floor was laid with polished, ancient black tiles, though many were cracked and overgrown with pale, glowing mushrooms. In the center of the room sat a stone pedestal, wrapped in rusted iron chains that surged with a faint, corrupted red light.

[Location: Defiled Altar of the Fallen Vanguard]

> Type: Hidden Sub-Dungeon Portal (Tier 2 Risk)

> Status: Sealed. Requires an E-Rank or higher Boss Core to unseal.

> Danger Level: High for current Level.

Kai’s breath hitched slightly. A hidden sub-dungeon.

In the modern world, dungeons weren't just random spaces; they were fragnted dinsions that had bled into reality during the Great Cataclysm. A managed dungeon like the one the academy used was thoroughly mapped, cleaned, and cultivated to ensure student safety. But a *hidden* sub-dungeon was an unmonitored pocket of space. It contained prival mana, ancient relics, and monsters that hadn't been weakened by human suppression arrays.

It was exactly what he needed.

Kai walked out of the shadows and approached the edge of the tiled chamber. As soon as his boot touched the black stone, the rusted chains around the central pedestal began to rattle violently, the crimson light flaring like a warning beacon.

"A Tier 2 risk," Kai mused, his hand resting on the poml of the Desolation Blade. "If I enter this, the academy tracking array won't be able to reach through the spatial barrier. If I die inside, my body will never be recovered."

For an ordinary student, that realization would bring a paralyzing wave of dread. But to Kai, who had spent his entire life being treated as disposable trash by the system and the people around him, the lack of human observation wasn't a threat—it was a luxury. No instructors to tell him he was out of his depth. No noble heirs to demand he surrender his loot.

He checked his inventory. The Chieftain’s Heart Core wasn't there—he had used the Dark Crystal to upgrade his sword, but he still possessed the residual high-density mana lingering within his own energy pool from the extraction process.

Kai extended his left hand toward the altar, channeling a single drop of his newly expanded mana pool outward. The violet energy sparked from his fingertips, traveling through the air like a thread of silk before striking the rusted chains.

CRACK!

The crimson light violently clashed with his primordial violet mana. For a mont, the chamber vibrated, dust raining down from the high ceiling as the two opposing forces ground against one another. But the raw quality of an SSS-Rank talent was absolute. The corrupted red energy flickered, weakened, and finally snapped.

The iron chains shattered into dust, raining down onto the pedestal.

In the center of the stone structure, the air began to twist and warp, forming a swirling, pitch-black vortex that slled faintly of burnt ozone and ancient iron.

[System Notice]

> Sub-Dungeon Portal opened successfully.

> Target: [The Iron Tombs of the Lost Legion]

> Warning: Spatial tracking severed upon entry. Do you wish to proceed?

Kai didn't hesitate. He looked back down the tunnel one last ti, toward the surface where the weak played their political gas. Then, turning his gaze back to the black vortex, he gripped his sword tightly and stepped through the rift, leaving the academy’s world behind entirely.
