Noah closed his eyes as information flooded his consciousness, detailing the profound changes that major milestone had triggered.
Understanding settled into his mind like puzzle pieces finding their proper positions, and satisfaction curved his lips into a smile.
"I...can now project the Foundation Palisades beyond my internal manifestation," he said.
"I can extend civilizational protection around the physical domains where my people reside."
The Infiniverse. The Isolated Civilization.
Oh!
But that was only the first revelation.
The second proved even more consequential.
Major Milestone Benefits- Foundation Palisades
Due to achieving major advancent threshold, your existence is now surrounded by imnsity and weight of your Civilization
PROTECTION THRESHOLD: No creature possessing less than 200 Quintillion Complexity and Purity can harm your existence through any thod or sustained effort
CIVILIZATION PREREQUISITE: To damage your existence, the attacker must be mber of an established Civilization. Entities without civilizational affiliation cannot harm you regardless of their individual power
EXTENSION CAPABILITY: Minor Mana and Hunger Palisades can be granted to eighty-one mbers of your Civilization
-Grants recipients: Equivalent of 25 Quintillion Complexity and Purity in addition to their existing capabilities
-Provides: Civilization Prerequisite Protection (can only be hard by mbers of other Civilizations)|
Note: Protection threshold and number of recipients will increase as Civilization advances through designations]
...!
The prompts were glorious, and Noah absorbed every detail with tyrannical satisfaction.
He could extend civilizational protection to eighty-one others...Sigrid, Riya, Khor, his Family, his Seed mbers, those he valued most.
Not only that, but at this mont nothing below two hundred Quintillion could harm him... even though his own Complexity and Purity had only just exceeded one hundred Quintillion!
The disparity confird what he had been following...Civilization was the true answer!
The benefits it conferred exceeded anything achievable through isolated power accumulation.
Imagine if he had declared for the Harvests to translate to pure Complexity and Purity.
Even if they sohow reached 200 Quintillion, he wouldn't have established this clear demarcation of power of his Civilization, and would simply just have an idea that he was forging a Civilization...but nothing concrete.
He now had sothing concrete.
A Nascent Civilization.
With its Foundation Palisades growing grandly!
Noah gazed out at his growing Civilization as the Foundation Palisades continued drinking in essence of digested Civilizational Chains, walls climbing higher and growing more elaborate with each passing mont.
"Existence is... unpredictable," he said thoughtfully.
"Unpredictability is intrinsic to existence itself, unforeseen
circumstances will continue manifesting around regardless of preparation. The critical variable is not preventing unexpected events, but rather... how effectively I can respond to things I never anticipated."
...!
That would determine everything.
He knew with absolute certainty that terrifying situations similar to today's encounter with THE Living Paradox would occur again.. perhaps soon, perhaps involving other entities of that stature.
Things he had not accounted for. Variables he could not predict.
He needed sufficient power when those monts arrived. Needed to face catastrophe without relying purely on fortune to survive it. Building his Civilization was the answer!
While Noah observed the advancent of his grand Foundation Palisades within internal landscape, elsewhere in external reality, different scene was unfolding.
In a domain isolated by pure Primus Mana, manifested in the sa region where THE Living Paradox had recently departed...Riya stood observing the distraught figure of Leonore Rureaux with sympathy.
The space around them pulsed with blue-gold allure, atmosphere itself saturated with Primus Mana serving dual purpose as
environnt and constraint.
The sa radiance comprised the chains binding Leonore, holding her with authority she could not hope to break.
Riya studied the woman for long mont before speaking.
"I actually feel rather terrible for you, you know. Apparently you
possessed no awareness that the man you loved was rely a vessel...a convenient container for sothing utterly terrifying." She tilted her head thoughtfully.
"Did you know that frightening entity personally? Since you are a Living Paradox while he is THE Living Paradox... it's rather difficult to determine whether you would consider such a being an ancestor of sorts, or perhaps sothing else entirely."
At such words, Leonore Rureaux's gaze, which had been distant and unfocused, sharpened slightly as she raised her eyes to et Riya's. Profound desolation swam in those depths, and when she spoke, her voice erged with care despite evident despair.
Despite her Ormordnes!
"Schrodinger was ant to be The Herald. The singular entity
prophesied to guide us through The Fallout, to provide pathway toward survival when THE Loom erupts and consus everything external to itself. If he was rely... fabrication, deliberate deception, then circumstances were engineered from inception to be fundantally unsurvivable."
BOOM!
Her hands clenched within their bindings.
"If THE Weavers who approached him claiming sothing catastrophic was approaching, declaring him Herald ant to save us...if all of that was simply elaborate theater, then they anticipated every possible angle. Ensured that this Fallout will not be sothing we can survive regardless of preparation or accumulated power."
...!
Her words carried despondency so profound it seed almost physical weight pressing down upon the isolated space. Riya smiled and nodded with understanding that surprised even
herself.
"I comprehend your aning entirely. The light of Mana dims progressively even now, which ans my back is positioned quite firmly against the proverbial wall. And I wanted my back to only be pressed against the wall by a single man...ah"
...!
"The only mitigating circumstance is that man I have been hearing legends about for essentially my entire existence...I've just encountered him directly, and he exceeds even the most exaggerated stories. I simply need to do everything within my capability to assist him, to ensure THE Loom doesn't erase everything residing outside
its boundaries." Her expression shifted, becoming more focused.
"So why don't you assist by assisting yourself here? Everything
might appear doom and gloom from your current perspective, but we can still attempt resistance. Let us comnce with your lover. Or perhaps lovers plural? Hmm, since he maintained multiple bodies simultaneously, did you ever engage with them collectively? Two or three of them and singular you?"
She paused, reconsidering.
"Wait, those aren't critical questions requiring imdiate answer, you
can tell later. Just... where are the bodies of your lover currently located? Do you possess knowledge of their whereabouts?"
...!
Leonore Rureaux fell silent at this inquiry. Eventually she replied with a heavy tone.
"It's utterly futile, isn't it? If THE Living Paradox occupies those
vessels, the mont you approach them, what transpired here will simply repeat itself. You witnessed his power...how can you possibly imagine confronting that again with different outco?" Riya's smile widened, showing confidence that seed almost
reckless.
"You needn't concern yourself with such considerations. If THE Living Paradox is genuinely suppressed as the Ancestor has determined, then we shall simply seize this opportunity to relieve the bodies of your lover from their unfortunate role as vessels. We'll bring him to a better place with sunshine, flowers and rainbows..."
She paused deliberately.
"Well, a place of complete collapse and existential termination, but in
collapse there exists no more suffering, correct? No more manipulation or forced hosting of entities beyond one's control. You
dont want another man inside your lover, do you? A rciful ending
can be given, all things considered."
...!
Her words landed with calculated weight, and after several heartbeats
of heavy silence, Leonore Rureaux began speaking with despondent gaze fixed on nothing in particular.
"In our Sanctuary. In our Desiccated Sleeping Shore...there may exist another body there. Or perhaps THE Living Paradox returned there
after departing this location. I genuinely don't know which possibility reflects current reality."
...!
Riya smiled brilliantly at this disclosure, snapping her fingers with a casual gesture that caused the binding chains to dissolve instantly. Leonore fell forward slightly before catching herself, and Riya moved
to stand directly before her with a smile.
"I knew we could establish productive friendship, didn't even need to torture..." Riya said cheerfully. "Okay then, let us proceed systematically. Tell absolutely everything...location details, defensive asures, anything that might prove relevant. We have
work to accomplish many things before opportunities disappear,
friend!"
Her radiant blue eyes pulsed with power and imnsity as she let out a helping hand!
