Lovers of peace would say that hatred has no place in one’s heart. That even if you take revenge or have your vengeance, it won’t change anything. That you won’t feel better after the deed is done.
Man, how wrong they were.
As Noah looked at a kneeling and distraught Elental through the connection his Inscription had burned into this being’s existence, he felt trendous satisfaction!
When you hate sothing so thoroughly, seeing it suffer felt good.
It felt really fucking good.
At this mont, Noah leaned back on his throne of Absolute Seals as he looked at the illusory scene in front of him that displayed Elental on his knees, Emotive standing nearby with an expression of fascination, and on its periphery, the booming aura and Imnsity of THE Creature as he actually showed himself in Alfheimr.
And what a unique thing that was.
Noah had only ever seen or glimpsed THE Creature a handful of tis now. They had never conversed. They had never exchanged words directly. Everything Noah knew about this being among THE Four ca from stories and legends and the occasional observation through thods that didn’t involve actual interaction.
But at this mont, the words THE Creature said to Elental seed to almost be directed at him as well.
"This is a type of adversity and hardship for you unlike any other."
"..."
Was it a coincidence? Or was THE Creature aware that Noah was watching through the Inscription’s connection?
Probably the latter. THE Creature was one of THE Four. Assuming he was unaware of anything was foolish.
And uniquely, at this mont in ti, Noah had an illusory consciousness eting with THE Primordial Chaos in another region of Alfheimr, with Ul’moreth standing by his side. THE Creature also had one of his bodies present in this Primordial Realm.
Similar to Ginnungagap all those eons ago, THE Primordial Chaos, THE Creature, and Noah were all in the sa place.
Three of THE Four, gathered in Alfheimr.
Noah thought about the situation as he watched Elental writhe in agony that his Embodints couldn’t counter.
He didn’t particularly feel the need to strike up a discussion with THE Creature.
He was curious about this being and all the legends surrounding him, yes. THE Creature’s origins. His relationship with Anaximander...which also reminded him of what he saw in Prima Indifferentia.
But... even if Noah didn’t want to admit it, he held a level of stubborn pride.
It was even among his seven deadly sins contained in his Absolute Seals.
THE Creature was grand and imnse, yes. But did that an that Noah also had to climb up the mountain to see him like all others did? Did that an he had to approach THE Creature as a lesser seeking audience?
He was also one of THE Four.
If THE Creature wanted to have a discussion with him, he knew where Noah was!
At this ti, Noah put the scene of the suffering Elental to the side of his awareness, glancing at it every now and then to enjoy the plight of this being who had dared to interrupt his Dual Cultivation. Each ti he looked, Elental seed more pale, more desperate, more broken by an Apophasis that his Embodints couldn’t address.
Beautiful.
While savoring his enemy’s tornt, Noah continued his work.
On the desk before him, there were already two more Inscriptions completed.
These ones were Inscriptiones Dormientes, Sleeping Inscriptions that waited within his existence for the mont he chose to awaken them. One golden page burned with the light of offense, and one burned with the light of defense, both ready to be deployed at a mont’s notice.
The offensive Inscription was half Apophasis half Embodint that read:
"The Depths of my target are not beyond my reach. My strikes are not limited by the weight they carry, but are amplified by the difference between my foundation and the foundation of the one who stands against . The greater the gap in my favor, the more devastating my assault becos."
With this Inscription active, every attack Noah launched would carry additional force proportional to how much his foundation exceeded his opponent’s. Against beings with weaker foundations, his strikes would be devastating.
The defensive Inscription was also a glorious one.
"I am not vulnerable to those whose foundations cannot match my own. The protection I receive is not static but scales with the difference between my weight and the weight of the one who seeks to harm . The greater my foundation exceeds theirs, the more impenetrable my defense becos."
This one operated on the inverse principle. Against weaker opponents, Noah would be nearly untouchable. Against stronger opponents, the protection would still present. His foundation had beco one of his most unique advantages, and any Embodints or Apophasis built around that foundation were extrely effective.
The synergy was obvious.
His offensive Inscription made his attacks stronger against weaker foundations.
His defensive Inscription made him harder to harm by those sa weaker foundations.
And his foundation was currently 12.5 tis heavier than THE Primordial Paradox at Surface Depth, 12 tis heavier at Interdiate Depth, and exceeding what THE Four possessed before becoming Absolutes at Fundantal Depth.
Most....all...beings in Observable Existence had foundations weaker than his?
Most beings in Observable Existence would find themselves facing amplified attacks while their own strikes bounced off amplified defenses!
But at this ti, Noah planned to write more and more Inscriptions to keep in reserve. The beauty of Inscriptiones Dormientes was that he could prepare them in safety and unleash them in danger. Whenever he faced an enemy, they might just be bombarded with Embodint after Embodint or Apophasis after Apophasis without knowing what the fuck to do against the onslaught.
He took his pen and leaned over his desk as Phones swirled endlessly around him in galaxies of linguistic authority. He began to write another sentence, his concentration focused entirely on the composition while his awareness occasionally flickered to the illusory scene of Elental’s suffering.
Every now and then, he would raise his head to see the tornt of THE Living Elental.
And he would hum with satisfaction before returning to his work.
In The Interstices, THE Genesis Monarch began a campaign of writing down Embodints and Apophasis with the diligence of a scholar preparing for war. Golden pages accumulated on his desk, each one containing a Sleeping Inscription ready to be awakened at his command.
Such a thing truly did not bode well for the Absolutes across existence.
