Now reading: Chapter 5213: THE Primus Apeiron! III from Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse, a Action novel by Adui.

He had studied Gilded anatomy. He had reverse-engineered the components from the gift THE Creature had left him. He had the Sandbox. He had his Infinite Scales, which he could arrange and rearrange and expand to include new elents as knowledge arrived that warranted inclusion. He was currently in the process of incorporating Pri Cause access into his Infinitas Architectura, which ant his Scales could absorb what his engagents produced and integrate it structurally rather than rely experientially.

And now, with every factor of progression laid out clearly, with adversity and risk and challenge and starting point all illuminated as the actual chanisms underlying what he had been doing instinctively since the first dungeon appeared in his world, he wanted to optimize.

His mind buzzed with the specific intensity of a calculation that had found its proper scope.

Rivers of Infinity began to surge around him, Nearu Absolute Infinity pressing outward from his foundations with the urgency of substance that had sothing significant to do with itself.

Infinite Epiphany state initiating.

Your perception is being stretched toward infinity. In this state, boundless knowledge and countless parallel possibilities are erging, converging, and diverging within your mind simultaneously. Every path available to your cultivation, every engineering configuration you have the substrate to produce, every application of Infinite authority your current integration permits, all of them are present at once in their full detail for as long as this state is sustained.

Duration within the state is subjective. External ti will not reflect internal duration.

BOOM!

Blue filled everything.

Then multicolored brilliance replaced the blue, saturating his perception completely before resolving into sothing more specific, a vast endless sea of Quintessence Infiniforce stretching in every direction that the concept of direction applied to, its surface carrying the deep luminescence of substance that had been generating from his existence for long enough that it had accumulated into sothing that could properly be called an ocean.

Ahead of him, massive and still, was a humanoid outline of his own body.

He began to work.

The rivers of Infinity and Observable Force that circulated around the sea entered the outline of his existence and perated through it, moving through the Hadean Physiology he knew in full detail, through his Organ of Civilization, through each of his 206 Hadean bones and each of his 78 Hadean organs, flowing through the architecture of himself with the intimacy of substance that belonged there.

He took everything he knew. His own physiology. Bounded physiology at every tier he had encountered. Gilded physiology from the components he had studied and the anatomies he had observed and the engineering thodologies he had partially reverse-engineered. The principle of adversity as accelerant. The specific relationship between risk and progression. The Cause connections he had established. The network architecture of his Quintessence Infiniforce distribution. THE Relictus behavior he had witnessed through the Bellum Dreamstone vision, the two Relictus tearing each other apart and recovering stronger through the declaration of a single word, the endless war producing endless advancent.

And he began to design.

Days passed inside the stretched mont of Infinity.

Weeks passed.

He tested configurations and discarded them. He tested variations and refined them. He tested the engineering against every adversarial scenario he could construct and asked how it would hold, how it would fail, where the failure points were and whether they were acceptable failure points or catastrophic ones.

On the eighty-first day.

HUUM!

The ntal landscape had changed.

The endless sea of Infinity remained, blue and deep and vast, but above its surface now floated millions of beating hearts. Each one pulsed in its own rhythm, but the rhythms were connected, each heartbeat resonating with the others in the specific way that a network of connections resonates when every node within it is contributing to the sa oscillation. The hearts were distributed across the sea without apparent organization, but their aggregate pattern held a coherence that the individual pulses did not express.

At the center of it all, the massive illusory outline of his body had completed its transformation.

It was still humanoid in the architectural sense. But the specifics had been rebuilt.

The body was covered in multicolored scales that caught the Infinity-light of the sea and refracted it into shifting prismatic patterns, each scale carrying the compressed density of Hadean engineering refined further than his current form expressed. The scales were not armor applied to a humanoid fra. They were the fra itself, the skin and the protection and the power conduit all unified into a single integrated surface that breathed and moved with the body it composed.

The spine extended beyond the ordinary humanoid terminus into a spiked tail that carried its own Hadean authority, the spikes along its length burning with compressed singularities of Infinity that rotated slowly in their individual orbits.

Along the back, jagged bone-like protrusions rose from either side of the spine in two parallel rows, each one a Hadean structure that served as both physical reinforcent and authority channel, the channels within them carrying Observable Force in dense flowing lines that were visible as gold threading through the scale-surface of the body.

The head carried scales across its full surface, the scales finer and denser at the face, covering the features in a way that preserved their recognizability while making them sothing grander than recognizable.

Four horns erged from the forehead in two symtrical pairs, each horn burning at its tip with a singularity of compressed Infinity and Observable Force that rotated slowly, the rotation producing small trails of multicolored light that followed the singularity’s path like the tails of miniature stars.

The eyes were crystalline blue, burning with the specific quality of Infinity held at density that exceeded the ordinary madness threshold while remaining coherent because the engineering had been designed specifically to hold that density without losing the self that held it.

The face was filled with bestial regal coldness. The specific coldness of a being for whom the environnt, regardless of what the environnt contained, was simply where they currently happened to be.

Noah looked at it.

This was THE Apeiron.

Or for him, THE Primus Apeiron!

He had based the concept on THE Relictus, on the vision from THE Bellum Dreamstone, on the specific relationship between endless war and endless advancent. THE Relictus descended whenever Gilded Ones approached THE Primordial Source, acting as gatekeepers of a power that they guarded through presence and force rather than through law or administration. They fought. They persevered. They beca grander through the fighting.

He wanted to design a challenge for Infinity in the sa register.

He wanted to send himself and his people as lifeforms burning with Infinity into endless war and adversity, to reclaim Infinity through conflict, to use the adversity chanism Old Man Zeke had articulated and that the Bellum Dreamstone had demonstrated as the primary accelerant of progression that the Gilded Ones had been using against THE Relictus for exactly this reason.

But he did not want to jeopardize himself or his people through actual permanent collapse. The risk had to be genuine. The adversity had to be unfiltered. The death had to be real enough to hurt. But the existential finality of true collapse needed to be suspended, the way a training ground suspended lethal consequences while still producing genuine physical conditioning.

The hearts across the sea were the answer.

"THE Apeiron."

He said the na aloud into the stretched mont of Infinity, and the word settled with the specific weight of a na that had been waiting for the right concept to attach to.

He brought the stretched mont to its end.

"Actualize my dream. Enact my vision. Let THE Apeiron Hadean Engineering fall on as I shall test it out."
