Jessica gritted her teeth at Vogue’s response.

Her body was incredibly weak, affecting the control of her talent significantly. The frailty of her aged form made it nearly impossible to maintain the precise focus required for the control of her talent.

If she wasn’t careful when fusing the Nevulium essence into the weapon, she could lose control and the weapon would be destroyed completely.

But from Vogue’s gaze, it appeared he wasn’t even considering reversing the process of Ti Decay on her body. His cold eyes showed no sympathy, no willingness to compromise.

Vogue was slightly eager to have a Pseudo Type 9 weapon, so he took her to the building nearest to him. The sooner she finished this task, the sooner he could get back to hunting radiants.

Jessica’s face turned pale as Vogue led her to a building with a sign that read ’Triple Love Hotel.’

As he entered the entrance of the building, Vogue didn’t see any single hint of radiants inside.

The lobby was dead empty, and was extrely quiet compared to other buildings. As Levi looked around, he couldn’t see any signs of corpses anywhere, which was unusual given the crazy thing that happened during the day.

Vogue squinted his eyes and saw traces of blood on the marble floor, dark stains that ford trails leading deeper into the building.

But there wasn’t any corpse to explain where the blood ca from. Naturally, he assud the victims had all turned into radiants, and according to their natural instincts, they were hiding until the moon set and the sun ca back up to restore their strength.

He walked up the stairs, his footsteps and then randomly picked a room on the third floor and shattered the door with a single kick, the lock chanism breaking apart as wood splintered.

The room was extrely large and well prepared with lots of decorations. It was painted pure white with golden chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and expensive-looking furniture arranged tastefully around the space. A massive heart-shaped bed dominated the center, covered in silk sheets.

"Sit there," he told Jessica, pointing at a white leather sofa near the window.

He threw a machete at her in a casual arc. She weakly caught it with both hands, the weight of even this simple weapon almost too much for her frail arms to bear.

"Get to work," he commanded as he walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge, sighing at how incredibly soft the mattress was. It felt like sitting on a cloud.

Jessica glared at Vogue with her clouded eyes but didn’t dare voice her complaints. She sat carefully on the sofa and proceeded to begin the fusion process. Closing her eyes in concentration, she focused her remaining strength.

A silvery liquid began seeping out from her palm, glowing faintly in the dim room. As though it was alive, the liquid tal started flowing toward the machete, which began floating in the air between her trembling hands. The liquid wrapped around the blade like rcury, searching for ways to integrate with the steel.

Suddenly the machete shattered with a sharp crack, pieces of tal falling to the floor. The fusion had failed. Only the silvery ball of liquid remained, squirming in the air like a living thing as it lost its host material.

Before she could speak or apologize, Vogue tossed ten more machetes at her feet. They clattered across the floor, scattering in different directions.

"Continue."

Her wrinkled face puffed with barely contained frustration, but she didn’t dare voice her anger as she picked up another blade and got back to work. Her hands shook from both age and exhaustion as she started the process again.

Vogue himself didn’t look at what she was doing. His mind was occupied with sothing else that bothered him. He hadn’t seen a single radiant on his way up the stairs, not one.

Even if they were hiding from the moonlight, he should have encountered one or two in the hallways. These creatures weren’t known for their intelligence or strategic thinking. Yet he couldn’t find a single radiant, nor did he hear their disturbing groans that usually echoed through enclosed spaces.

Sothing felt off.

He stood up from the bed and walked out of the room, not afraid Jessica would try to escape. She needed him. He was the only one who could reverse Ti Decay and restore her youth. She was trapped just as surely as if he’d locked her in chains.

Vogue proceeded to create six clones by severing six fingers. They hit the ground and rapidly grew into full copies of himself within seconds. He sent them throughout the building to check every room, every closet, every possible hiding spot.

It took about half an hour to fully search the entire hotel, but there wasn’t a single radiant anywhere in the building. More concerning, there weren’t even corpses of radiants to show they had been killed by soone else.

There was just blood on the ground in various places and clear signs of struggle everywhere. Overturned furniture, claw marks on walls, broken windows. But no bodies, no radiants, nothing to explain what had happened here.

"Hmm?"

Vogue noticed there was dried greenish and sticky liquid in so parts of the building. The substance clung to walls and floors in splatters and trails. When he traced the path of the strange luminous green liquid, following it like breadcrumbs, it led directly to a door marked "Garage - Basent Level."

Curious and increasingly cautious, Vogue walked down the concrete stairs leading to the garage. The temperature dropped noticeably as he descended. He reached the tal door at the bottom and pulled it open slowly.

It was pure darkness inside. Not even the silvery rays of the three moons visible through small ventilation windows could light up the garage properly. Even Vogue’s enhanced night vision could only see about ten ters in front of him, as if sothing was actively swallowing the light.
