The couple were Eleanor and Thomas Willis, old entrepreneurs of Luandon. They were in the clean money business, steam engine and the once popular whale oil before it beca obsolete.
It beca obsolete because of the newly discovered rock oil, the oil that Carter knew so well in his 21st century world.
Eleanor and Thomas were still on top of their ga. They were still rich but unfortunately, they were nowhere near as big as before.
The two of them led Philip into their house. They ordered their servants to bathe the man, dress the man, and feed him well.
At first, the servants were disgusted by him. He was handso, sure. But he was dirty and slly.
But everything was forgiven once they got to know Philip. He was a very charismatic guy who was just in a bad situation.
In the dining room, Philip dined with Thomas and Eleanor. They talked and laughed and joked.
And danced once the dinner was over. Thomas had a big Gramophone with a huge collection of flat discs.
The servants watched as their master and lady danced with the charismatic stranger in the artificial music produced by the gramophone.
Philip didn’t know how to dance. But his body was nimble and he learned quick.
"Tell , Philip. How did a nice young man like you end up on the street like that?" Thomas said.
"It’s a long story, Mr. Willis. Luckily, Father found and gave a rebirth."
"Father? Your biological father?" Eleanor said.
"He isn’t. But he is much closer to than any blood connection can ever be. I wonder where he is right now."
"It sounds like he abandoned you."
Philip didn’t say anything. He only stayed silent. Carter disappeared. He said he would find Philip. But the newborn vampire wasn’t sure.
"Master Willis! Soone is on the door."
"Oh? Who is that?"
"He said his na is Vladimir."
"Vladimir? That is my father!"
Philip rushed to the door and there he was, Count Dracula of Transylvania. A pale man with dark hair. He wore a well-tailored suit and had a nice top hat on top.
Grace exuded from him and he smiled like a true gentleman.
"My child." Carter opened his arms wide.
"Father! I’ve missed you! I thought you left !"
"Our kind never lets a newborn fend for themselves, child. I have been watching you from afar."
Thomas and Eleanor ca and saw Carter. He was too young to be anyone’s father. The couple found it a bit weird but didn’t say anything.
"Please join us. We have plenty of rooms."
Thomas invited him in. And Carter gladly accepted.
The servants were removed as they continued their talk to privater matters.
"These days are secretly so bad for us." Thomas said. "The rock oils ca and destroyed my business."
"Oh? Why don’t you shift the focus of your business. I bet with your talents, it is not difficult to do so." Carter said.
"We’re too old already, Mr. Wampyr. We don’t have the strength to start over again."
Carter smiled. He stood up.
"How old do you think I am?"
"I beg your pardon?" Thomas frowned.
Philip smirked deviously.
"How old do you think I am?"
Eleanor shared a dry smile, "Maybe thirty? I don’t know for sure."
"I am 401."
Thomas slapped his knees and laughed. "Then I’ll be 1000 years old already."
Carter lifted one of his finger up, causing the couple to freeze. Their blood immobilized them.
"I am Vladimir Wampyr. Prince of Transylvania. Count Dracula. I have walked this world for four hundred years. I see you have treated my child with care."
Carter snapped his fingers again. Thomas and Eleanor were free.
They stared at him in horror. Their forehears were filled with sweat.
"Please. There is nothing you need to worry about. I might be inhuman. But I am more compassionate than any man could be.
Would you like to have what I have?"
Carter stood behind Eleanor. He put her hair on one side and showed her wrinkled old neck.
"What do you an, Vladimir?" Thomas clenched his fist. Even when the pale man in front so no aggression, he was still afraid.
"Eternal life, my child. Eternal life. You shall never be ridden of age again. Do you miss your youthful body? Do you miss how strong and powerful it felt?
I can give it back. But there is a price of course."
Eleanor trembled. She felt like she was talking with the devil. "What’s price?"
"You shall never see daylight ever again. And you shall beco my children."
Thomas laughed wryly. He didn’t know what to think. The offer ca was just too sudden.
"Why don’t I show you?"
Vampire fangs appeared as Carter bit into Eleanor. She arched her back and rest her head on Carter.
And she moaned. She moaned as if she had tasted the forbidden fruit that she always desired.
"Elea..." Thomas rushed over but he froze midway.
Eleanor, his faithful wife was turning. Her skin beca smoother. Her wrinkles disappeared. That sll of the old people was no longer. Only the youthful fragrance of a lady.
Eleanor gasped as she observed her smooth flawless hand without any marks of ti.
They were convinced. They joined Carter and beca his children.
The second and third vampire of the first generation.
The Willis Family was rich and influential. But they had no child to inherit all those power. Now, they didn’t need children no more.
Because eternity had befallen on them.
Carter didn’t do this out of nowhere. Thomas and Eleanor had wealth and connections. And Carter had the best offering to get them under control.
’This world will also soon be mine.’
Carter said as he left the Willis Mansion with Philip on the next night.
"Where are we going, Father?" Philip said.
"I heard that you have enemies. Why don’t we give them a visit?" Carter said.
Philip widened his eyes then grinned widely. "Would you help to revenge, Father?"
Carter patted his head like a true father.
"Of course. What kind of a parent am I if I won’t protect my child?"
Harry, another Pale Undead was approaching Luandon with his own army of zombies and ghouls.
He was a Minor Undead and under him was a hundred Undead, both Mindless and Pale.
"Harry. I heard that loser Philip also went to Luandon to gather his own force." One of the Pale Undead told Harry.
Harry shrugged, "Ignore that loser. We’re here to settle with Liam."
The horde of Undead arrived at the Field of Ghosts.
