After the bombardnt of attacks on Icelandia, it had taken the governnt and the entire people by surprise.

Not only were their weapon stations destroyed, but their satellite systems were hacked as well.

This had clearly shown that Icelandia had been rendered powerless, because there was no other way, right?

At so point, it appeared there was another way, as President Liam began to call on the Espanians and Rusnia for support.

...

Sofia was there in his office, witnessing President Liam go mad after what had happened.

The most shocking part was how the Nortasians discovered a weapon that could break through the Icelandian defence, and really, Sofia had not been that surprised because she knew the capabilities of those ladies Jayden had.

She was only frustrated and mad because her plans were crumbling right before her eyes, and failing would be more like getting herself killed.

She knew that.

"They should be here by now... What’s taking them so long?" President Liam angrily stated as he road around the room.

Hours had passed since they were waiting for President Boski and President Ruiz, and they had not even gotten any information from them yet.

They were to et and plan how to use the Espana and Rusnia weapons to attack Nortasia with full force, with Sofia playing a huge role by showing them how to break through the Aegis V with their missiles.

However, the presud helpers had not shown up. For the very first ti since he could rember, President Boski and Ruiz were late to a eting with him.

In fact, they would always be the first to show up, as they were his closest allies.

That appeared to be changing today, and before President Liam could realise it, the telephone finally rang.

"This is President Boski. I have a ssage for you, Mister President. Actually, this is the last ti I will be calling you that because... well, co on... we all know you’ve lost it. You are going to lose."

President Liam’s eyes widened at once.

Soon, a different yet familiar voice sounded.

"You are a loser, Liam... But it’s not surprising because we all know it’s just karma catching up with you. Do you really think we wanted to assist you in the war?"

That was clearly the voice of President Ruiz, and President Liam could not get himself to believe it.

He was wide eyed and speechless, but his ears were still fully active.

"I an, who would want to face that young, smart demon? If we try, he is going to destroy us. I would not want to put my people’s lives at stake. That’s not happening, because I know you would not want to help if you were in my shoes," President Ruiz added.

"The best thing you can do at this point is to step down, Liam. You have to. For the sake of your people, because we do not care if you die or not. No one would," President Boski said.

At that point, President Liam’s face began to turn hot, red, as he clenched his fist so hard that he could crush a stone.

They did not see that, and it was clear that they did not care.

What was certain at this point was that he had been abandoned by the people he once trusted, the people he had pinned all his hopes on.

Now, does it not seem like he would never make it?

President Liam settled in the chair, and Sofia, who had heard every single bit of the conversation, had a completely dark look.

They were both speechless, mad, angered, frustrated.

There was more to that, but the ntioned emotions had the biggest impact.

After staying silent for more than an eternity, Sofia then spoke up.

"So, what do we do?" Sofia asked in a calm tone, dragging her voice.

"We take out Jayden. I am not going to let that son of a bitch dethrone . I am Liam Thompson, and I will continue to be the great Liam Thompson till I die."

"I will not let the story of a little orphan defeating be written in the history books. That is never going to happen. He will not slit my throat and kill ."

...

Now, Icelandia was already rendered powerless, and that was a clear fact. This had made the Icelandians begin to protest for their freedom.

They knew President Liam would never step down until he got what he wanted, which would clearly an putting the masses’ lives at stake.

No one wanted to die, because they had already discovered that Nortasia was smartly too powerful for them.

...

They ca out before dawn. People spilled from narrow alleys and small apartnts. Word spread by mouth. Notes were slipped under doors. Runners on bicycles told neighbors. No phones, no broadcasts. Just fear and anger.

At first they stood in small groups, whispering. Then a woman on the palace steps shouted, "We will not die for him."

The crowd grew. n put down coffee and picked up wooden boards. Children were wrapped in blankets and pulled from beds. Old n straightened their backs and joined.

Soon the square was full. People held rough signs.

"LIAM STEP DOWN. STOP THROWING US AWAY. NO MORE BLOOD."

The air slled of smoke from a thousand worried breaths.

They chanted in short, raw bursts. Not polished slogans. Not neat lines.

"Not my child."

"Not my house."

"Not my na."

A factory worker hit an overturned crate and shouted, "You promised safety. You promised strength. We trusted you."

The chant rolled through the crowd.

No caras watched. No foreign reporters. That made them louder and aner. They knew the networks were cut. Their voices would not travel far.

That only made them shout more.

Mothers huddled by the fountain, and one climbed up and asked, "Where is Liam hiding?" stating that she would not sleep like a refugee.

People answered with a long wail. It sounded like grief with nowhere to go.

Two young n argued about storming the gates; they planned to invade the presidential building. A few others said that would be suicidal.

Near the gates a small group made a loose barrier. They were not soldiers. They pushed trash bins into place and used fire extinguishers as shields.

A boy climbed a lamp post and waved a rag tied into a flag. Soone cheered. It felt like the only flag they had left.

A guard watched from a palace window. He was young and tired. An older woman spat at him and shouted, "Rember this day. We will not forgive." Tears ran down her face, but her voice held steel.

Rumors ran faster than facts. Soldiers were refusing orders. The president was nowhere to be seen, of course. Technicians at missile stations were gone. Each rumor made the crowd lean forward like they were waiting for a single sound from the palace.

They did not get an answer. So they filled the silence. They banged pots. They sang songs and cheered, like they were running riot.

The small police group at the edge watched. They did not charge. Their captain had a daughter; he rembered nursery rhys. He also had orders he could not read aloud. For a long ti he did nothing but breathe.

People passed around bottles of water and blankets. Candles were set in a circle not as a shrine but to say we will not vanish. Children chased each other with wooden swords and made sharp laughter.

Laughter felt like a tiny victory.

As night ca, a man spoke; his voice was trembling but loud. "We will not leave until we have a na and a step. Until he steps down and lets Icelandia live in peace. We all want peace!"

However, no one showed up, and it was as though they were ignored. Completely ignored.

President Liam indeed had shown that he would never step down, and that was a huge blow to the people of Icelandia.

One thing was clear.

If Icelandia was to face doom, President Liam would be completely responsible.

After his conversation with Esta, Royce had understood everything, and he wanted to help save Earth.

His actions said it all, and after all, he had decided to help Esta as well, as they would try to find who had received the Absolute Guide.

...

A few days after, he was alone in his chambers when Kael knocked on his door.

"Hey, it’s Kael. Open up?"

"What do you want?" Royce imdiately replied harshly.

"Co on, man. Don’t be so harsh. I just got so good news for you," Kael said.

With a shake of the head, Royce stood up and went to open the door.

He made sure not to let Kael co in, and Kael did not want to co in after all.

"Congratulations, Royce. You are in trouble," Kael said with a smile.

"What? Why is that?" Royce’s mind jumped, wondering if it had anything to do with eting Commander Cross, or even Esta.

"Well, I’ll tell you," Kael sighed.

"I have just been nad as the First Command Leader of the Sovereign Protocols, which makes you the Second Command Leader."

"This simply ans you are under , and you will have to respect and obey my orders, or..."

Before Kael could finish, Royce quickly slamd the door shut and walked away from the door.

"Okay, Royce. That’s your first offence. You will hear from the Grandmaster!"
