"Kate, how did it go?" A beautiful lady with deep blue eyes and contrasting wavy red hair, standing at the entrance of a private room, asked while looking at Kate who had just arrived.
The lady was dressed in a light, fitted sumr dress that traced her waist and flowed smoothly over her hips, subtly accentuating her curves. The breathable fabric and delicate straps left her shoulders bare.
Her figure was very enchanting, despite her face that indicated that she was still in her teenage years.
"I’m not sure if I should say that it went well or not." Kate responded.
"How? You don’t even know if it went well or not? Is he already engaged to soone else or not?" The lady asked with increased curiosity.
"Let’s go in first. I will tell you inside." Kate responded with a slight smile on her face.
"Judging by the smile on your face, I can tell that things did go in a positive direction. Co, let’s go in. I have already ordered so dishes. You are just on ti." The lady said as she took Kate’s hand, before pulling her into the private room.
"Actually, there is no need for the food. After all, I have already eaten." Kate responded as she took a seat beside the lady.
"What? Don’t tell that you went back to the police cafeteria and ate? How could the food there compare to the one here? Let tell you, I have specially asked the master chef of this restaurant, to prepare a dish for you.
I promise you, the dishes that will be prepared for you are among your favorite dishes. You better eat a lot, coz you went hungry for several days." The lady insisted.
"Susan, there is no need for this. Just as I have told you, I have already eaten. Additionally, the food that I ate, it is definitely above the one that is to be prepared by the master chef. So, there is no need, really." Kate vehently shook her head as she responded.
After taking a cab with Michael, they had headed straight back to Riverside residential community. Adrian had already prepared a good al for them, and she made sure to enjoy the al.
She ate until there was no room for more, before she ca over to et with Susan, a friend of hers that she had t during the ti that she was still in elentary school.
The two of them had gone to school together, all the way from elentary school to high school. Both of them started school at the sa age, and were currently both 18 years old.
It was just that, Susan was 5 months older than Kate. Additionally, she was mostly interested in the entertainnt industry.
For that reason, after finishing high school, a year ago, she had joined the best school that was the best for those that focused on the entertainnt industry, Ellington School of Art.
This school was located in the Central province. In order to be able to enter this school, it was not a matter of connections, but instead, it was in terms of ability.
Susan not only had incredible looks, but was also very good in her field. Even in class, her performance was incredible, being among the top students in her class.
Due to the talent that she had in acting, despite still being in her second year, she had already debuted, having already signed with an entertainnt company called Celestial Luminance Entertainnt, as an extra.
Even though she did not play a major role in the film that they had just recently finished filming, she still would be considered a celebrity.
As long as she continued demonstrating her ability when it ca to acting, there was no doubt that she would be one of the top stars in the acting industry.
"Are you kidding ? Are you telling that the master chef of a five-star restaurant is not as good as the one who cooked the dishes that you just ate?" Susan asked as she gazed at Kate with disbelief clear on her face.
It was impossible for her to be able to believe this. If not for the connections that her family had, she would not have been able to successfully ask the master chef to prepare a al for them.
But now, Kate was actually telling her that there was soone who could prepare good dishes than this master chef? Even the other master chefs of the other five-star hotels could not easily claim to be better than the other one.
Before Kate could even respond, Susan closed in and asked, "Tell honestly, where did you eat? Or, are you being threatened by soone, so that you can promote their business?"
Kate was left speechless by the imagination that Susan had. Her, being threatened by soone? If there was nobody that was supervising her, why would she go ahead and try promoting the food that was cooked by soone that could threaten her, especially to her best friend?
Additionally, she was a police officer. How could soone easily threaten her? She would have already arrested them.
"Can you stop overthinking sotis? Anyway, just as I have told you, the food that I ate is way better than what can be prepared here. I know that you don’t believe , but I will take you there so ti, so that you can see for yourself." Kate shook her head as she said.
This friend of hers, she was usually so much of an overthinker. She could easily turn a simple event into a historical narration.
Susan looked at Kate, who looked back at her without averting her gaze. By looking at Kate’s expression, it seed that she was not lying.
But this was sothing that surprised Susan. After all, it was not that easy for Kate to be able to praise soone. So, how co she was so confident that the food that was prepared by the other party was better than the one that could be prepared here?
"Don’t tell , is it possible that it is a chef from the central province? But, those that can exceed the level of the chefs here are usually from the big hotels in the central province. Why would they cook for you?" Susan asked, but there was a confused expression on her face.
"I have already told you, you have to stop overthinking. Anyway, I will take you there, maybe tomorrow. That way, you can experience it for yourself, then you will know." Kate simply shook her head as she responded.
Susan was surprised by Kate’s confidence. Just what kind of food did Kate eat for her to be this confident? Regardless, since that was the case, she would just go there and see for herself if it was true.
Then, she suddenly thought of sothing else. While holding Kate’s arm, she asked, "How did it go? Is he already engaged to soone else or not?"
Kate took a deep breath before she responded, "He is not engaged to anyone. And, it turns out that nobody can make a decision for him when it cos to his marriage."
"Huh? Seriously? Then, girl, you have a big chance. Let tell you, you have to seize this chance. No matter what, you have to try and get him.
You know, even in the central province, there are a lot of great young masters, but it is difficult to be able to find one with a good character. From the description that you gave , it seems that he is one of a good character and a good background as well.
So, you better take this opportunity and get together with him. Since he has no engagents arranged for him, and has the final say on his partner, then you don’t have to worry about his family being against you two being together.
If you delay, you might end up finding him together with another lady. At that ti, you will regret it."
Kate blinked her eyes as she looked at her friend, dumbfounded. Just how enthusiastic was Susan? It was almost as though she was pushing for herself to get married, and not Kate.
With a slight blush appearing on her face, Kate said, "Actually, today, we went out. We did not go to the amusent park. Instead, we just went around the city for a while. Then, we went to a coffee shop."
"Huh? Seriously? Where did you even go? Is there anything that you can do that can increase the relationship between the two of you, to bring you closer? You should have gone to the amusent park. There, there are many chances of interacting and getting close." Susan complained.
But, she noticed the faint blush that was on Kate’s face. Imdiately, she realized that there was more to the story.
"Tell , did the two of you kiss? Or maybe, did you go straight to the point? Isn’t that a little too fast?" Susan asked with a bewildered expression on her face.
Kate had an impulse of beating up this girl. The heck! She was talking about kissing, and even going even further? What did she take her for?
When Susan noticed Kate’s expression, she realized that she had misspoke. She chuckled mischievously before she asked, "If that did not happen, why are you blushing?"
