"What? You are telling that you failed to kidnap him?" Thomas asked in an infuriated voice as he glared at three people standing in front of him.
Each of these three people were extrely skilled in terms of combat. They were three of the four core mbers under him.
Previously, due to Hudson giving him an ultimatum, he had no other choice but to dispatch these guys. He dispatched three of them at the sa ti, to look for Kevin’s whereabouts.
They had taken quite a while to be able to find him, but for so reason, they had actually failed.
"Boss, it is not that we wanted to, but we were suddenly attacked by a masked man. Most probably, it is the sa person who had saved that kid before." One of the n spoke up.
At the mont, each one of them was currently bandaged, and lying on a bed. This was not the hospital, but just a separate room within the headquarters of the gang.
Thomas had asked a doctor to co over to deal with this situation. That was why these guys had been wrapped up in bandages.
"You were attacked by a man? How skilled are you guys? I don’t believe that the three of you failed to take care of one person. Even if it was a sneak attack, at most, it would take out one of you. So, would two of you fail to be able to take him out?
And, with you in this condition, how do you expect things to happen? Instead of helping out, you just made things worse for ." Thomas was obviously even more infuriated when he heard the man’s words.
The three could only remain silent upon hearing Thomas’s words. What could they do?
Previously, when they tried to fight against that man, they realized that they were completely outmatched. It was not just in terms of skills, but in terms of physical capabilities as well.
That guy was extrely fast, and the strength that he possessed, it completely overwheld them. They really had no chance of resisting.
It was just that, it was kind of inconceivable for soone like that to appear. So, they understood that even if they tried to tell Thomas about it, he would not believe it.
They just hoped that he would understand, considering that the current condition that they were in was testant enough of what they had encountered.
But at the sa ti, they thought in their hearts, they should have exaggerated things. If they had said that a group of 20 people had attacked them, it would have been easier for them, right?
At least, Thomas would put in the effort on investigating who had attacked them. That way, they would be able to find out who that masked man was.
When his words were t with silence, Thomas got even more infuriated. At this mont, he really wished to just eliminate these three people.
But in the end, he held himself back, understanding that he needed to be rational at this mont. Considering that many things had already gone wrong, he could not make them worse.
He had to find a solution quickly, before Hudson ca for him. Otherwise, if Hudson ca to realize that he had not managed to find Kevin, he would be in deep trouble.
So, he began pacing around the room, trying to think of a solution to this problem. It was just that, no matter how much he thought about it, he could not find the solution to this.
"Boss, what about this? Why don’t we just find another family, so that they can replace the Green family? The sooner we do this, the better, instead of just focusing on this kid called Kevin.
Even if we end up finding who is behind the destruction of the Green and Kingsley families, it would not help much if we have not taken counterasures.
Additionally, we can use this new family as bait, to try and see who it is that is working behind the scenes to sabotage the plans that we are making." Suddenly, a voice suggested.
Thomas looked towards the source of the voice. It was another man, currently dressed in a casual black T-shirt and brown khaki trousers, matched with a pair of black sport shoes. His short hair was currently dyed green.
This guy had a lean fra, but if one looked closely, they could see that he had quite so compacted muscles. And looking into those dark brown eyes, one would be able to tell that this person was ruthless.
This was the best fighter within the gang, at least under Thomas. In terms of skill, Thomas had never seen anyone else that was good at fighting as compared to this guy.
"Jeffrey, do you know what would happen if things go wrong? It is not just who would be in trouble. But all of you.
And when I say trouble, I don’t just imply you personally. But even the people that you care about, they would all be in deep trouble.
So, right now, I want a solution to this problem, not to escalate things. And, we have to find the solution today. Otherwise, if today ends, and we have no solution to the problem, we will be dood." Thomas said in a serious voice.
These 4 people obviously knew about the fact that there was soone else above Thomas. It was just that neither of them had ever interacted with whoever it was that was above Thomas.
Regardless, from how Thomas was usually afraid of that person, they understood that that person was extrely ruthless. So, neither of them doubted Thomas’ words.
"Boss, I think that this is the best solution that is currently available. As long as we make sure that the plan is not affected, we can deal with the other things later on.
You can leave this issue to , and I will personally handle it. Whoever it is that is trying to sabotage our plans, I’m pretty sure that he is the very sa person that attacked them." Jeffrey spoke in a calm voice.
Thomas was silent for quite a while, before he let out and helpless sigh. Just as Jeffrey had said, they currently had no other solution. So, they could only try this out.
"Okay, but make sure that this ti, you do things cleanly. I don’t want mistakes." Thomas agreed, before he gave a reminder.
"Don’t worry. I won’t risk losing what I already have." Jeffrey responded confidently, before he turned around and left the room.

20th August afternoon...
In the morning, Michael was able to push the criminology skill to the expert level, and apart from that skill, he also pushed the journalism skill to the expert level as well.
And with that, he was able to bring his SP balance to 193,826 points.
At the mont, he was relaxing in the living room, having just taken his lunch not long ago. He was going through the report that he had received from Lucas.
Lucas was the sa person that Michael had asked to help out in dealing with Kevin’s issue. After all, Adrian had to deal with Sky Technologies, and Damian was busy with Annex supermarket chain.
Michael was initially not sure about why Kevin had been previously kidnapped. But after today’s incident, Lucas did so investigation, and he was able to find out that the ones behind the kidnapping event were actually the Dark Society gang.
Initially, Michael was surprised. He had not expected that the Green family had so connection with the dark society.
But now, after going through the information, Michael realized sothing. It turned out that even the Kingsley family that he had dealt with, was actually linked to the dark society.
It was just that, the dark society was not very active when it ca to helping out the Kingsley family and the Green family. Their involvent with the two families was quite subtle, to the extent that most people would not be able to find out.
And from the information that Michael had read, it seed that the dark society got involved with the Green family just after the destruction of the Kingsley family.
And now, after the destruction of the Green family the previous day, they had already approached another family, making Michael raise his brows.
But as he went through the information, he suddenly realized sothing. It seed that this dark society was planning sothing. As for what it was, Lucas was not able to find out, at least for the ti being.
For them to be this secretive, to the extent that they did not leak any of their secrets online, it was quite a surprise.
Still, Michael thought that, maybe, he might need to deal with the dark society after all. Previously, when Annex supermarket chain was opening the stores that have been bought all over the Eastern province, it was this dark society that had tried causing trouble.
Back then, Michael had only dealt with those small gangsters that were being used as pawns by the dark society. But after that, Michael decided not to bother with this group of gangsters.
But sohow, the two of them were once again clashing. Michael was intent on making sure that Kevin suffered for quite a while.
Despite him knowing that Kevin was currently in a wretched state, Michael did not pity him in the slightest. After all, the cris that that guy had done, they hurt quite a number of people.
Just as Michael was thinking about this, Lucas suddenly ca in. Looking over, Michael nodded at Lucas, who imdiately said, "I have found out that they are taking action again. Should I go and save that kid Kevin again? They have already kidnapped him."
