After a minute went by, it was the ti for everyone to make their decisions. So, one by one, they began revealing what they had decided.
When it was Kate's turn, she claid that she wanted to join the alpha team. This was sothing that she had already decided, based on the information that she had on this team.
According to the information that she had, it was clear that this team did not easily take action. They usually took quite a long ti before executing the plan, and every ti that they took action, it was only for a short while.
Of course, this did not imply that there was no danger during the ti that they took action. In fact, in situations like that, where they needed to carry out the mission as fast as possible, it was mainly for those high risk missions.
Kate had decided to join this team for two reasons. One of them was the fact that it took quite a while for the mbers of this team to take on a mission.
And right now, the ability that she had a weekend required ti. As long as she was given enough ti, she would continuously grow stronger, which would reduce the risks that she would have to face in the future.
On the other hand, she felt, if she was exposed to different dangers and circumstances, she might be able to grow faster. Additionally, the ntal pressure caused by the missions, they would definitely push her to train harder.
When Kate revealed her decision, Peter looked at her, his gaze lingering on her for a few seconds, before he gazed at Lina, waiting for her response.
Having already decided before, Lina imdiately revealed that you would also join team alpha. She had decided, whatever team Kate would join, she would join as well.
While the ability that she had awakened did not seem to be too suitable for combat, it was useful nonetheless. So, she would not be helpless during a battle.
This ti, Peter seed to have sothing to say. But eventually, he decided against whatever he had in mind, and looked at the next recruit, waiting for his response.
After everyone had made a decision, Peter was about to continue speaking when suddenly, soone shouted from a distance.
"Hey! How co you are already making them choose a team, when I have not presented them a good option?!"
The shout was quite loud, and as everyone looked towards the source of the voice, they realized that the person who had just shouted at them was quite a distance away.
But it was not long before they realized who it was. It was none other than Alex, the person who had been in charge of the combat assessnt a few days ago.
Seeing him approach, Peter frowned slightly, but he said nothing. Even though he was older than Alex, in the organization, strength was the one that did the talking.
And in terms of strength, Alex was slightly above him, and while he did not have a higher position, he still had a little more say than him.
The mont that Alex arrived and stood next to him, Peter looked at him and asked indifferently, "What do you want? Or are you planning on insisting on creating your own team?"
"What? I thought I already told you before? And, although I am disappointed that the number of recruits that managed to acquire the abilities is quite low, but we can make do with this.
With a little more recruitnt from the next few batches, the team will be set, and at that ti, we will definitely be the strongest team within the combat branch." Alex said proudly.
Then, without waiting for Peter to say anything, he glanced at the five recruits and said with a wide smile, "All of you, I'm quite sure that you are curious why I'm here today.
But as you have just heard, just as I said, I am planning on forming a team of my own. Currently, I'm the team leader, and the only mber of the team.
Actually, I have not even decided on the na of the team, but that is sothing that we can decide as long as we have several mbers joining.
So, I hope that you would give the chance to tell you the benefits of joining my team."
As he reached this point, he paused for a mont, waiting for the words to sink in. And, gazing at the shifting expressions of the recruits, he was not surprised.
A few seconds later, he continued, "So, first of all, as you already know, the team doesn't have any other mbers apart from .
I have already obtained permission from above, which allows to create a team. Therefore, if you join, you will definitely be among the core mbers of the strongest team in the combat branch.
Additionally, all the resources that we will be receiving, because the number of mbers is low as compared to the other teams, you will definitely get quite a large share.
As for the missions, I will perfectly select the missions that suit you and your abilities. Additionally, before we officially begin taking on the riskiest missions available, I will be in charge of your training.
I will take you all out to gain experience on the field. With your current abilities, it is not much of a problem for you to deal with so small gangsters.
Hence, we will start with so small gangsters, and after so ti, we will be dealing with mutants as you continuously gain the hang of how to handle different situations.
So, what do you think about this? Are you guys willing to join my team?"
As Alex finished speaking, he glanced at the group of recruits with hopeful eyes. Previously, he had already selected a few people that he hoped would join his team.
But of course, that was basically based on the results of the combat assessnt.
Evan was one of them, but unfortunately, that guy's character had made Alex change his decision on that. Additionally, that guy was quite unlucky, as he ended up dying during the ti that he took the mutation serum.
Regardless, despite being disappointed by the fact that there were only five recruits remaining, Alex decided to take them all. Initially, out of the five, only three of them had been selected by him.
But now, he would not mind taking the other two, just to make sure that the team looked more complete.
Obviously, he was intending to create a team that would be a combination of both the three branches. While that did not imply that they would not depend on the other two branches for support, it would be much better for ergency situations, if they had people that could handle different situations.
Kate and the rest of the recruits looked at each other for a mont, each one of them stunned. They had not anticipated that there was soone who was creating a team, and he did not even look serious at all.
If this guy was serious, he would have definitely decided on the na of the team and a few other details. But looking at him, it was as if the guy had just decided overnight that he would create a team, and ca here intending to do so.
But this was a matter of life and death. If they joined the team, and it was not organized enough, would they not be throwing away their lives?
So, most of the recruits imdiately made a decision that they would not join Alex's team.
"What do you think? Are you interested?" Lina nudged Kate slightly as she asked.
Kate did not imdiately respond, as she was still thinking about it. Eventually, she beca a little indecisive, before she raised her hand.
The mont that she did so, everyone around her was surprised. Could it be that she had already decided to join Alex's team?
"Young lady, you have decided to join the team? I can tell you, you have made the best decision that you could have ever made in your entire life. I can promise tha-" Alex, excited, imdiately began making so promises.
But, he was suddenly interrupted by Kate, "Ah... Excuse , I had a question."
"Huh?" This ti, it was Alex's turn to be left dumbfounded.
Even Peter, who was standing next to him, his always indifferent expression nearly cracked, as his lips twitched, obviously, the guy was trying to stop himself from laughing.
"Ahem! Okay, go ahead, what is your question?" Despite the slight embarrassnt, Alex simply cleared his throat and asked.
"I would like to know, if I decide to join the team, and I end up being the only person doing so, what would happen next? Additionally, if all of us decide to join the team, when will we begin the training officially, and how long will it last?" Kate imdiately raised the questions in her mind.
Alex seed to be prepared for this as he responded as soon as Kate finished speaking, "Even if you are the only person who joins the team, it doesn't matter. After all, it will only be temporary, as in at most 2 years, there will be a new batch of recruits, and we will be able to get more mbers then.
On the other hand, if you are the only person who joins, during this ti, while waiting for the others to join the team, you will be training, and I will occasionally take you out for experience.
But if all the present recruits decide to join, then, the training will last for 6 months, which then, we will begin dealing with so small gangs, and after you are more comfortable with it, we can finally begin dealing with mutants.
So, are you interested in joining?"
