The 14 racers lined up at Summit Motorsports Park, engines thundering through the warm afternoon air.
Michael waited calmly in the very last position, hands resting lightly on the Regera’s wheel.
Since he already knew that his skills were at a higher level, and his car was better, he decided to give the others an advantage.
While the Koenigsegg Regera was not modified like the other cars present, it was still a top notch vehicle.
Just for the thrill of the race, and to make sure that everyone was convinced once he won the race, his car was the last one in the line.
Unlike the others that were currently feeling the tension, he was completely calm, as though he was just out for another casual drive.
He kept his eyes focused on the lights ahead, waiting for the signal for the race to start.
The mont the lights flashed green, the cars surged forward in a roar that shook the stands.
At the front, Alex’s McLaren P1 took an early lead, with Raymond’s Aventador holding strong beside him. Dalton’s Porsche 911 Turbo S managed a good start, staying close to the middle.
In the stands, the others that were not participating in the race cheered as the race started.
But, this was not the main focus of so of the spectators. They had noticed, while others had already began driving, there was one car that had not yet began the race.
"Hey, could he have chickened out?"
"Possibly. Otherwise, why would he not start driving as soon as the signal is off?"
"Maybe his car has a chanical problem."
"I doubt that. During the ti that he arrived, his car seed to be in a perfect condition. Additionally, before the race, all the cars were checked by the chanics."
The crowd began discussing, imdiately attracting the attention of the others that were focusing on the race.
They were also dumbfounded by the fact that Michael had not yet began driving. While the engine was still revving, the car was not moving.
Michael completely ignored the attention that he was receiving from the spectators, just waiting.
And about 20 seconds after the start of the race, when Alex and the others rushed toward the first corner, only then did Michael’s Regera begin to move.
If the race was just a single lap, of course, Michael would not have done this. But with a total of 10 laps, even the 20 seconds advantage that he had given them was almost non-existent.
Michael drove the car forward with ease, an advantage brought about by the advanced driving skills. The Regera responded instantly, almost like an extension of his own body.
Within just a few seconds, the car had accelerated to over 60 mph, and it was still increasing its speed.
The gap between his car and the others began reducing, especially considering that the group had only just gotten into a major bend.
At a corner, most of them would decelerate, which allowed Michael to be able to close the gap.
And when he arrived at the corner, the group had already gone past it.
For the spectators, who were still wondering why Michael did not start the race with the others, they were all paying attention to Michael’s car.
And when the car reached the corner, they expected him, just like the others, to slow down. But unexpectedly, Michael continued driving at a high speed.
Just when they thought that he was crazy, and maybe the car was going to get off the tracks, sothing unexpected happened.
With a simple drift, the car was able to get past the bend, before it continued galloping forward, as though nothing had happened.
This made the crowd gasp in astonishnt, as they had not anticipated that Michael’s skills were this advanced.
At this mont, they had already begun speculating the reason why Michael did not start the race with the others.
As the group approached the third bend, Michael was already behind them. By now, the gap between him and the second last car was almost negligible.
At the bend, just like before, Michael accelerated once again. He wanted to seize this chance, when almost everyone was slowing down, to overtake a few cars.
By the ti the others braked for the curve, Michael was already weaving through gaps they didn’t even realize existed.
The young masters and misses watching from the stands gasped as he swept past three cars in a single motion.
As for those who had been overtaken, they were also caught off guard. One of them almost crashed into a car in front of her due to the shock brought by how easily Michael had been able to overtake them.
As for the drivers in the cars that had not yet been overtaken, they also began feeling the pressure.
At this point, they realized just how skilled Michael was. And at the sa ti, they all tried to make sure that Michael would not overtake them.
A few of them even deliberately got in the gaps where Michael could possibly overtake them through. All this was just to make sure that this youngster, who was obviously younger than them, did not get past them.
Alex took the corners with skill, pushing his P1 to the limit, and Raymond followed with steady control. Dalton’s turns were a bit rough, forcing him to correct his line several tis.
anwhile, Michael slipped through the inside path, brushing close to the barrier without losing a breath of speed.
As for the others attempting to block him, it was impossible. With his skills, he was able to easily maneuver between them, making it impossible for them to guard against him.
On the long straight, Alex pushed hard, determined to keep the lead. Raymond followed closely, and Dalton tried to hold position. But behind them, Michael’s Regera had already cleared half the pack.
The crowd in the stands, and other staff mbers of the racing tracks had all stood up, shouting as they enjoyed the way that Michael was maneuvering.
At the mont, every one of them was amazed by Michael’s driving skills. It was just enchanting, with him being able to do things that seed almost impossible to do.
By now, a few of them had already contacted so people, to try and find so information on Michael. As for others, they were waiting for Alex to give them a real background on this guy.
Michael advanced again, overtaking two more cars with barely perceptible movents of his hands. He reached Dalton just as they approached the next set of bends.
Dalton glanced in his mirror, eyes widening when he saw the Regera closing the distance effortlessly.
Before he could react, Michael was already past him, slipping ahead with a simple, precise line. Dalton could only stare, stunned at how easily it happened.
Previously, when Alex had claid that Michael was skilled, Dalton had not believed it. But now that he saw it with his own eyes, how could he not believe it?
It was no wonder that Alex claid that after being defeated, there would be no retort. After all, the way that Michael overtook him was very simple, as though Dalton was not even trying.
Raymond felt the pressure next. He was currently in the second place, just behind Alex.
Previously, when the race started, he had noticed that Michael’s Regera was missing. At that ti, he thought, Alex had actually began boasting about others.
Maybe, he was just using Michael to try and irk him, so that he would be distracted during the race.
But now, upon realizing that Michael could not be seen behind him, he did not think much about him. Instead, he was thinking about how to overtake Alex.
The two of them usually competed against each other, and out of the many tis that they had competed, Alex had won most of them.
This had always been a sore spot for Raymond, so, he had always been trying to win back as many tis as possible.
Today, he was determined to win against Alex. But unexpectedly, behind him, he noticed that Michael’s Regera was catching up.
Initially stunned, he felt the pressure in the next mont. He could not allow another person to overtake him. How could he allow himself to fall from the second place, directly to the third place?
Each and every ti that he lost to Alex, he always achieved the second position. So, he could not settle for the third position, no matter what.
Because he was slightly distracted, his Aventador shook slightly as he braked late for the turn, but he managed to stabilize.
The cheers rose when Michael appeared behind him, closing the gap in seconds.
"Do you think he will be able to overtake Raymond?"
"From the skills that he has demonstrated so far, he has the ability of doing that."
"This ti, Raymond will really have to settle for the third place. Instead of advancing, he is actually regressing."
"Hahaha! I would like to see his usually arrogant face after the race. It will be quite a spectacle!"
As usual, the spectators comnted on the race, as they continued watching the thrill.
While the spectators were still chattering about, the group was already in the second lap.
