After the discussion on what else needs to be done to complete the marriage ritual, everybody finally went to their respective rooms one by one to rest soti in the middle of the evening. When there were only a few people left in the room, I stood up from my seat and started making my way out the door ignoring Aurum who was the only one left seated in the drawing room. The rest of the people left are attendants that are still standing around and cleaning up. As I opened the door wide and upon realizing that I am really leaving without calling out for him, that was the only ti I heard Aurum's hurried footsteps, trying to catch up to .
I continued walking forward in a quick pace along the corridors of the palace as if I did not notice that sobody was trying to catch up to from behind. I did not slow down my walking pace or look back as to who it was. This lasted until I was in front of my own quarters assigned to when I first arrived in the palace yesterday. As I stopped walking, Aurum who did not expect to abruptly stop walking, bumped on quite strongly from behind together with a painful sounding gasp coming from him.
I suddenly turned around to face him and saw him rubbing his chest. My body is indeed tougher than that of a humans even if I am not as muscular as he is so he got hurt instead. I asked him teasingly, "Why are you following ? Don't you have your own room? Are you lost in your own parents' place?"
He looked at with a hint of being aggrieved, "We're already married. As per the clauses in the marriage ritual, It was my turn first to consummate with you tonight."
I looked at him with a raised eyebrow and asked, "Did the order tell you that we have to do it imdiately and we have to consummate it inside my room? Can't you just wait for to co to you in your own room when its ti?"
He looked surprised then he blushed as he may have realized that he is acting too eager as of the mont. He looked down in embarrassnt but still nodded in agreent to what I said. He murmured sothing as he walked past and said, "I will wait for you in my room then."
As I followed Aurum with my eyes as he left, I smirked in amusent. He indeed looked top eager to get it done. It seems like he is still worried about trying to return him to his parents before. Now, how should I punish this prince that likes to nag, complain and say whatever is on his mind with no sense of propriety.
I went inside the room while having these thoughts in my head. I did not hurry to Aurum's room but instead had a long, warm and relaxing bath. After the bath, I started putting so cream on my body to make my skin soft and fragrant, sothing that I rarely do but now I am doing since I am purposely killing so ti. I also took my ti looking through all of my clothes before choosing what to wear to go to sleep. Before I knew it, almost two hours have passed.
I smiled and finally walked out of my room and as I did, I saw Nazam who was clearly sent by Aurum in front of the door, walking back and forth. Being the one who officiated the marriage ritual and was assigned to make sure that all steps are complete, he is visibly very worried as he ran to greet . He bowed his head low and honestly told that he has been waiting in front of my door for a long ti but didn't want to knock or disturb in any way.
He also told that Aurum called him inside his room and complained that I still haven't made my way to the eighth prince's room yet for our wedding night when I promised two hours ago that I would co. He looked pale as he begged to go to the prince tonight since he won't survive another round of his complaints and scolding.
I looked at him, smiled cordially but did not say anything. I did not comnt on whatever he said to try to guilt trip or apologize about him or Aurum having to wait for for a couple of hours. I clearly told Aurum to wait in his room and if he was too impatient, that's his issue and not mine.
I asked the attendant to lead the way and I followed him in a very relaxed pace. As for the attendant, he had no choice but to slow down as well, seeing that I do not have any intention to hurry on my way to appease the angry prince. Since his task is to lead to Aurum's room, he has to do his job which is wait for .
It took a lot of twists and turns and several minutes before we arrived in front of Aurum's room. Being a prince, the door is way wider and a step higher in terms of being more lavish looking than the others in the palace. The only one that can top it is of course, the empress' own room.
The palace attendant, Nazam, hurriedly knocked on the door and announced my arrival. As if trying to show that he wasn't impatient, it took a few minutes of knocking before Aurum opened his bedroom door. When he peaked outside of it, his clothes and hair were disheveled and his eyes were half closed as if he just woke up from a nap.
I would have believed that he fell asleep while waiting for if not for the fact that Nazam has already given him away and I exactly know how a person who just woke up looked like. He had no rheum in his eyes and he slled too fresh for soone who has been sleeping on a bed for a few hours.
I looked at him in amusent but kept my face emotionless. I looked at Nazam and told him, "Oh, he must have been sleeping. Why didn't you tell so? We should have not disturbed soone's rest. Let's leave to let him rest for the night."
After ignoring Aurum by only talking to Nazam, I turned around and started walking away from the door quickly. Aurum panicked as he saw going on my way back to my room. He shouted in the corridor, "I have been waiting for you for more than two hours! I am not sleepy at all. Don't you dare leave hanging in here. At least think about my reputation as a prince!"
I stopped walking and chuckled while holding my stomach. In between my laughter I asked, "I knew it! You were obviously pretending that you just woke up to make it seem that you did not care if I ca here tonight or not!" Aurum turned red almost instantly as he actually forgot to stay true to the role he was playing earlier in his panic to keep around.
I thanked Nazam for his assistance and as if he was waiting for this cue all along, the guy almost ran through the corridors to avoid and Aurum. I walked towards Aurum's door and pushed my way inside. My new husband simply let in without any complaints.
I walked around his room while observing the décor inside. It was screaming "bachelor" and "manly" as it had been decorated with dark colors like midnight blue, gray and black. The bed was huge, clearly showing how much the owner of the room values his comfort and his sleep.
Aurum stayed where he was standing earlier and just followed my movents with his eyes. I continued touring his room including his bathroom area, closet, a mini food storage, a mini arsenal of weapons and even a small study area which he used to read and sign important docunts. When he noticed getting far away from where he was standing, he decided to follow around like a diligent puppy.
After several minutes, he finally spoke, "I have designed this room based on the colors I preferred. If you don't like anything here, you can tell and I'll change them to whichever color or décor you like as soon as I can."
I answered him passively, "It's your room so you have the right to choose whichever things you want inside it. It is not like I will stay here most of the ti so keep it as it is. Everything looks fine to anyways. By the way, you sll really good right now."
He stayed quiet and did not reply to even after almost a minutes so I looked back to where he was standing. When I saw his face, he looked shocked. It just wasn't clear which one of the things I said was the culprit. I raised an eyebrow at him as if asking "what's the matter".
He scoffed at and replied, "What do you an that it's "my" room so I get to decide? It's "our" room now. This is where you would stay if you want to be with whenever we are staying in the palace. About... slling good. Thanks, I guess?"
I laughed at his reaction since he seed to not be used to getting direct complints. I smiled at him and replied, "I know that it's our room now. I do like dark colors so I said it was fine. Just so you know, Yren was so damn right about what he said earlier."
