After whisking away, the next thing I knew, I was teleported to another part of the kingdom that I have never been in before. For sure it looked abandoned for so long and it felt gloomy since it was only and Altair here. Adding to that, the choice of color for the structures here have that old and noble vibe that focuses on shades of gray, deep purple and everything else was black.
Altair was still holding my hand but he wasn’t looking at . He was staring at the mansion in front of us. Gone was the creepy smile or the annoying smirk on his face. All I can see was lancholy that only lasted for a few seconds before his usual smirk ca back on his face as he looked at . In that split second, he was surprised that I was looking his way as well. My face might have given away that I saw his deeply hidden sadness earlier.
He suddenly looked away and then tried to cover up his previous feelings with a joke, "Excuse for my rudeness, your highness. It is very hard to get this place back in tip top shape all on my own. The next ti I bring you here, I promise that everything should look way better."
I clearly understand that he did not want to talk about what I saw earlier so I also changed the topic by saying, "It is fine. It is not like the palace was any better the first ti I ca here. Maybe it was even worse and the area is way bigger. I was alone too at that ti so I understand that these things need more ti. Just let know if you need any help so I can look for a way to assist you."
He did not respond to my offer and he simply walked forward, still holding my hand in his. We walked through the long path towards the mansion. As he pushed the door open, I can see that the inside still looked new and everything was perfectly in place. I looked around curiously then I heard him whisper, "Thank you for not asking questions."
I looked at him and gave him a smile and a nod in return. He looked away and then guided to one of the seats in the living room. He sat across from where I am and he imdiately went on to proceed to what we need to talk about.
He started with a heavy sigh and a helpless smile as he said, "I know you heard everything I said to the other three guys at the plaza. There is nothing that can escape you in this kingdom. I am not saying this to apologize because everything I said earlier was true. Just like you, when we found out for the first ti that we will be engaged to a young child, we did not like the idea even if age is a very trivial matter between mystiques who are practically almost immortal. It is also true that we all opted to die in that war several centuries ago but our parents chose to save us through those beds you first saw us on, hoping that we will live well and have a chance to have our own children so our bloodlines will not die out."
I looked at him in the eyes for a few seconds and I can see how he gradually beca more and more uncomfortable with my silence. Finally, I spoke with a calm voice, "It is fine. I know the truth you have talked about. As part of my inherited mories, I was given a chance to see that exact scene when your parents offered you up for the future of Eieneos. I saw you fighting and screaming to not be put to a slumber that you do not know when you’ll wake up from."
This ti, it was his turn to be stunned. He must have not expected that I not only know the truth but I also saw it first hand. The thod of how I was able to do it doesn’t matter. He gave a helpless smile as he looked into my eyes. For so reason, he couldn’t last a few seconds before he forcefully broke the eye contact.
He sat in a more comfortable position and asked, "Before I and the other two have been awakened by you, have you made any agreents or ntioned any promises with Samir?"
I looked up as if thinking carefully and then I spoke in an unsure tone, "I think so? He made promise that even if Touya, Luxiel and you would be awakened in the future, I would accept him and have a child with him first. Laerad was there when that happened and he made give him the sa promise towards him too."
Altair clicked his tongue and chuckled. He then made a comnt, "I knew it. That fox would have done everything in his power to not wake all three of us in one go. It is the nature of n to try and monopolize their woman even in this polyamorous world. Well, I won’t be able to do anything about the words that have already been spoken so I siimply want to ask to be the next one after that fox."
It was my turn to laugh at how Altair looked disappointed but he was still scheming at the sa ti. I really don’t have any intention of promoting them to husbands as of the mont but he’s right. A promise is still a promise so it is not a big deal for to agree to his request. He looked happy when I easily agreed to the deal he offered .
He then went to discussing about getting my permission to go out of Eieneos to start looking for the souls of Eieneans stuck in the reincarnation cycle. I looked at him in surprise since he is the first one to offer to take on the job. Since I don’t think there is any issue in doing so, I simply gave him so enchanted items to keep him safe during his travels in the human realm. He smiled at and whispered that he will co find in the human realm whenever he had the ti as well.
Damn. Why do I suddenly feel nervous? I don’t think eting up with this guy in the human realm is a good idea.
We stayed for about an hour in the Casimir territory, sharing stories of how our lives were before I ca to this world and how his life was before that war several centuries ago. He also talked about his parents and his childhood together with the other three guys. I couldn’t help but watch him closely as the "him" that he shows to others is very different than the person who is happily chatting with as of this mont.
At exactly an hour after we arrived here, a sudden loud bang at the gates of the mansion took our attention abruptly. Altair excused himself to et with what he called an "unwelcod visitor". He went out for a bit and when he ca back, he was with Luxiel who currently looks grumpy.
Even before I could ask why he ca all over here, he cut off by saying, "You gave Altair one hour of your ti so I also demand the sa amount of ti. It is my turn to talk to you now since I won that little sparring I had with Samir and Touya." I raised my eyebrows and looked at Altair.
Altair responded as if reading my mind, "This musclehead always decides things through strength and force. They must have decided who gets to et you next through that sparring session they had. Just give him what he wants for now or he will bother you to no end."
I looked at Luxiel’s face who still looked pissed but his eyes were staring at eagerly. I chuckled and asked, "So where are we going to talk? You look angry. Are you trying to get to have a sparring session with you too?"
Luxiel’s face suddenly changed to that of surprise as he shook his head fervently. He then hurriedly explained himself, "I am angry but not at you but this traitor next to . I will never ask you for a sparring session since I do not want to hurt you in any way. If you get angry at , you can just hit and I will never fight back."
I smiled at Luxiel in amusent and I responded teasingly, "Why does the idea of beating you up excite for so reason? I’ll keep that offer in mind for the future." I heard Altair’s muffled laughter as he teased the muscular redhead, "You’re really stupid to offer such a thing. Even if you give the sa offer, I would gladly take it just to have a free pass to beat you up while you can’t retaliate. You are so done for!"
