I thanked the group of miners again after I have given them little rewards since they did their best to answer all of my questions, no matter how many there were. They appreciated my small gesture so much that they gave detailed directions as well on where to find things as well as the nas of people that can help out.

While waiting for my husbands’ update, I continued walking and looking around the open area. The first thing I observed was the presence of small businesses. It is indeed understandable that not everyone in this place have the physique and the stamina to mine or carry heavy stuff so they have to find other ways to earn money and live.

I saw so hawkers scattered in different places in the open area. There are so that sell food and cold drinks for the miners’ convenience. I also saw so people selling mining tools and offering services such as repair and sharpening. I also saw people selling mining clothes and other apparel such as belts to place tools in as well as heavy duty bags to place the mined items. The most shocking of all were a few that were being sold by their parents as slaves. The young n for sale looked delicate and totally out of place in this mining town.

All in all, the market looked lively and diverse but it is not very organized since this is an open area that everyone can use anyway they want to. There were no guards to keep the peace and order. There were no designation of areas where people can rest so you can see people randomly lying on the ground sleeping. They even openly sell slavery and nightly services. Lastly, The hygiene is not sothing to be appreciated.

As I continued looking around, I also saw a lot of miners just sitting on the dirty ground trying to stay within shaded areas to eat their food, take a rest and cool down from the heat. It would have been better if the leaders here at least provided better resting facilities for the miners that work very hard to put money in their already bulging pockets.

I took note of all the pain points that the different group of miners that I have talked with ntioned to . If I summarize it to a few things, they have complaints with resting facilities. They have also ntioned things that they would love to see being sold in the market that they would gladly purchase. They said that a mailing services is sothing that they would gladly use regularly and pay for if it was available too.

They also gave so valuable insights on the managent and the leadership in different areas since most of them have tried working under mines for all the areas. These are all valuable details I can put in my report for the royal palace and they should be the one to decide if they want to do sothing about it in the future or not.

It is just that for these miners, it was too hard to buy everything they need here except for mining equipnt. The miners also told that the hardest part is sending and receiving packages and sending money out to their loved ones living in other places since there is no such service available. They all had to ask for permission to leave the mountains once every few months to give the money personally to their families and they were losing days that they should have been earning more money because of it.

What I find fortunate is that the workers looked like they are being paid fairly enough since they do not look emaciated or sickly. I am also yet to see a miner that can’t afford proper mining equipnt, food or clothing. Sure, so of them try to be frugal but that is just normal for all workers that need to send money back to their hotowns. As for their physical appearance, sure they are dusty and sweaty which is to be expected of labor-intensive jobs like mining but I discovered that it is more likely because there was no place providing free flowing water for them to be able to wash themselves up after work.

As for these pain points, as a business owner, it is my responsibility to provide those since if you et the people’s needs it ans more money in my pocket again. As I looked around the open area which is smack in the middle of the three family-owned areas, all I can see is potential, profitability and progress. I will surely do wondrous things in this place once it is mine.
