KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
Theo was at the table reading the material when so knocks ca from the door.
Elias went and opened the gate halfway to see who it was when he saw a man in a uniform standing there waiting for him. He was a different person from the one they saw yesterday.
"Please be at the exam hall in an hour. Here is a map. You are not allowed to take your beast to the location. There is a marked spot in the map for the beasts to stay at." The man said in a monotone, serious tone and walked away to another door just after Elias grabbed it.
Elias looked at the map and then showed it to Theo.
"It’s not close. I am already prepared, so let’s go early." Theo muttered and got up.
"I will stay here, young master, to keep the luggage safe," Clara spoke, making Theo nod.
"You’ll do very well, young master. I know already." Clara spoke with a warm smile.
Theo took a deep breath and bid farewell.
There were many kids inside the hallway talking in groups. So were alone, but most were already in groups.
Theo and Elias moved past many, hearing murmurs along the way.
No one really approached or talked with him, but mostly, anyone he ca across was looking at him with curiosity or ridicule.
After a few minutes of just that, Theo got used to it. It was the sa as his siblings when they saw him working hard in the training hall while they stood in the corridors of the castle.
Theo could see a difference in people already; quite a few commoners were wearing lavish clothes, but he could tell they were commoners because there was no crest on their clothes.
And there were many nobles too, all around him, but Theo kept moving forward with Elias.
10 minutes later, they ca across an exit to the corridors, and Theo saw a courtyard with a big bird fountain right in the middle.
Theo took a deep breath of fresh air and felt peace in the courtyard.
There were seats everywhere in that area, and people were sitting casually. So had their books with them too.
When he looked up, Theo took another breath of air. The building was so, so large that it felt like his neck had to move even a little back and still a lot of the building was left to be in the vision.
"Let’s go Elias, twenty minutes or so left," Theo spoke, making Elias co out of his trance. Even he was shaken by the sheer size of the building.
He entered the main building finally, and Theo saw way more children at the sa place again, making him take a sigh inwardly.
He had forgotten that he needed to be around children all the ti now, which made him feel like it was a hindrance instead, because he was well enough for himself till now.
He kept walking and ignoring everyone until they were finally at a big stage setting.
There were hundreds of chairs on one side, while a stage was on the other. It was like a theatre.
Theo saw the nearest seat and sat down.
He looked at Elias, who was still standing. When their eyes t, Elias showed hand signs to show that he had to stand there.
That was when Theo realized that most of the attendants were standing at the corner with each other.
And in that mont, Theo smirked, and Elias knew what he was thinking about. Elias was a master communicator; the more people he could interact with, the better the information network he made and gathered information.
Theo felt like one of his worries was solved now.
Theo tapped his finger on the armrest of the chair while looking around.
The murmurs didn’t stop, in fact, they grew louder as more children entered the hall.
"Hello there, how is your day going?"
Suddenly, a child’s voice ca from the side and Theo looked his way.
He was a boy with brownish hair, his eyes were large and expressive, while there was a social smile on his face that was very approachable.
"Great, how’s yours?" Theo spoke and offered an elbow tap instinctively only to realize that the kid might not know it.
"You know the military greeting! Here!" He shouted in a happy tone and tapped his elbow at Theo’s, making him curious.
Theo looked at the guy and saw he was wearing good clothes, yet, there was no crest.
A smile ford on Theo’s face after seeing the kid sit beside him. Many others looked toward them and whispered, making Theo chuckle.
"Everyone is really trying to grill you huh" The boy spoke with a light chuckle and continued, "Though I can’t say if they’re wrong."
"Why?" Theo asked with curiosity, wanting to know what this boy had in his mind.
"I know, I know, you think being level 5 is why you’re being stared at. Well, that is a reason. Also the sword and armor you’re carrying in a beast taming academy." The boy spoke in cheery thoughtfulness while bobbing his head left and right.
"But what they all see is this!" He spoke while pointing at the crest on Theo’s lesser dragon armor.
Theo chuckled at the guy’s honesty.
"What’s your na?" He asked to finally know who he was.
"Ron!"
Theo felt like the guy wanted to be on a first-na basis so he too spoke his first na.
"My na’s Theo."
The boy got surprised by the na and shook, went into laughter, making Theo confused. Kids really were tough to deal with.
"So that’s why people say the rrick Barony is different." He muttered, wanting Theo to speak further, but he spoke again.
"Would you like to be my friend, Theo?" Ron asked with excitent, making Theo even more curious about this.
"Why not? But are you sure we will pass and enroll today?" Theo asked with a chuckle. The boy was speaking as if they were going to pass right away.
"Well, isn’t that a given? It’s our duty as the unique affinity holders to at least do this much." The guy spoke with a knowing smile, finally making Theo react with a frown.
"Wait--"
Before the boy could even say anything, a loud sound of a bell ca from the front.
