Theo got on his feet again in panic. He heard a voice in a room that had nothing but himself.
"Who is it?" He asked in a cold tone, not knowing what was happening. Looking in each direction every second was a must, as he didn’t know where he was.
"You don’t need to know that, boy. And I only talk about what I want to talk about," the voice said again.
Theo analyzed the voice this ti, and his eyes widened in shock.
’It’s directly in my mind... telepathy?’ he thought, as there was no one in the room.
Soon, in realization, Theo ran to the study to see how the ants were, only to be relieved that nothing happened to them.
"Do not worry, your ants are safe. I can feel a bond between you and that big ant queen... shardjaw ant. Now that is common. But about the ones it is controlling?"
"Shut up!" Theo spoke aloud with an angry expression.
Yet soon, he realized that being angry was the worst thing. This was an unknown situation, with an unknown person talking to him in his mind.
’Is this real or not? Definitely should be real.’
He cald himself as much as he could and took a deep breath.
"I would like to know who you are first; your answers will only be answered if you do that," Theo spoke as calmly as possible.
There was silence for a few seconds, and that irked Theo. It couldn’t be that it was gone, right? That would be too easy.
"I can’t tell you that," the voice spoke again.
"You know this is a dormitory of children, right? Do you look inside with whatever this ability is always? Aren’t you ashad of this behavior?" Theo spoke with a tone laced with venom.
"Should I complain to the instructors about you? You should be quite high in the hierarchy here if you can do this. They will know about you," Theo spoke again, thinking that the cards were in his hands now.
Again, silence filled the room, and Theo felt like he had definitely gone mad.
"You can do that right now, boy," the voice spoke, surprising Theo.
"But that will be the last thing you will do. They will apprehend you for talking to , and then not even that noble family bulshit will be able to save you."
Theo was at a loss for words; things had completely flipped.
’So he is soone the academy is protecting, or is he at a high power here? A human looking inside a closed room and then talking with in my mind, it’s just too high-level to be normal. What to do? What to do?’
"As for that kid or children bullshit, I do not care about humans even the slightest. They are just bags of flesh in my eyes," the voice spoke again, making Theo freeze this ti.
Who talks about their fellow humans as if they were a bag of flesh? Was he a cannibal?
Until, for a mont, sothing clicked in Theo’s mind. His eyes widened at the theory he had in his mind. If it was true, his whole world could be flipped upside down.
"Then... are you a beast, not human?" Theo asked.
As much as he didn’t want to think like that, there was this feeling from how the voice talked that made him feel like it wasn’t really human even though the dialect, the ability of speech, was top-notch.
"Hmm... Nobody has figured it out this early before," the voice spoke, and a thoughtful tone could be felt. "Theo rrick, is it? I have heard of your family na before, but I can’t quite rember it at the mont."
The voice kept rambling on about his family and how it rembered the na of sothing, but for Theo, the world stopped the mont he heard the voice not deny that it was a beast.
’It’s a beast? AND IT’S TALKING.’ The line responded in his mind again and again.
Theo felt like it could be trolling at so end, but all the analysis he did and all the things that were actually said by it all stated that.
"Forget it, I can’t rember now," the voice spoke again.
"Tell , what are these ants? I have never seen any of this type before. You didn’t get your hands on those mutations, did you?" it said again persistently, as if it craved that knowledge no matter what.
"Mtations?" Theo spoke but just shook his head to be on the point.
"... If I give you the answers, will you tell what you are? And why can’t I talk to the instructors about you? Why will they apprehend ? Why did you co talk to ? Do you talk with others like this too?"
"Too many questions," the voice spoke again, this ti a little annoyed.
"How about this? If you answer and I think that the explanation is unique enough, I will answer half of those questions."
"Done," Theo spoke outright. Getting these many answers was already good enough.
Theo thought of the best way to answer without too many words. And he sowhat found it.
"It’s my affinity called Evolution. It will be no secret in a while anyway, so I guess you can know that."
"Evolution...." The voice spoke in a mysterious tone, making sothing in Theo’s mind click again.
"Wait, do you have any idea of what it is? Is there anyone else who has it?" Theo asked frantically. The way the voice spoke, it felt like it knew the word Evolution.
He knew what evolution was but that was because he was from another world, so if soone knew about it, it would just be unbelievable.
"You’re lucky right now, Theo rrick, that you have told about this affinity," the voice spoke again.
"I don’t quite know this na, nor do I know how it works... but..." The voice stopped midway.
’Is it sothing he can’t speak of? Or sothing he has forgotten like my family na?’ Theo thought.
"There is only one ti I have heard of this na, Theo rrick. And it was said by soone not from this world."
The more bombs Theo had gotten answered, the more his mind started getting dizzy.
"Are you talking about the Outer Devils? They said this na before? And do they speak the sa language?"
"Too many questions."
Theo felt dejected when he said that, but the voice wasn’t finished.
"And no, it was that tal machine that translated everything that was spoken between those vermin and us and.... Wait..."
"You vermin!" the voice spoke again in a furious tone.
