When Theo opened his eyes again, he was in a big clearing with nothing but reddish rocks everywhere.

He looked behind him and froze.

"Where did the gate go, father?" he asked with a frown.

The baron frowned for a mont before he sighed in relief, "I thought you should already know this, but knowledge about a gate is withheld properly so it makes sense."

"This is the best part of a gate, you need to find the exit on your own." The baron spoke with an excited grin.

Theo did not know whether to laugh or cry.

He looked at the land again and felt like there was nothing but rocks and reddish ground all over the place with no end anywhere.

Big rocks of different shapes and sizes were everywhere, but other than that, there was nothing for ends and ends.

But Theo’s eyes weren’t on the terrain anymore, but the ssage in front of him.

He sat down on the ground with his hands on his head in awe.

"What’s wrong?" The baron asked; Theo’s face just looked too shocked right now.

"You’re watching a status screen right now. What does it say?" the baron asked again.

"E... Evolution Potential..." Theo spoke.

"Evolution potential? Doesn’t that happen every ti you feed sothing to your beasts? What is it this ti?"

’This... is this alright?’ Theo thought, a shiver running down his spine constantly.

When Theo looked at the screen from top to bottom, he couldn’t stop himself from being shocked.

anwhile, Clara and Elias also entered the gate warily and looked around with vigilance.

Until they saw Theo and crouched down to know what happened to him.

"He is in shock; leave him be." The baron spoke while staring at Theo.

Theo looked up and was still dazed.

’I don’t understand, how is evolving possible? Humans evolving instead of beasts?’ Theo thought in his chaotic mind.

At the back of his head, when he saw the evolution ssage, it felt like it was for the mantis or the ant queen or just another random ant in the colony.

Never in his wildest dreams did he ever think about him evolving.

He looked at the baron in a daze, ’Should I tell him?’ he thought.

But then, he got up on his own and sighed, "It’s just a good evolution option for the mantis, father. But not as good as the one he currently has." He spoke with a smile.

The baron kept looking at him with a plain expression without batting an eye for a longer period.

"When you’re ready to tell the truth, we can have this conversation again." The baron spoke and continued without giving Theo any chance to speak.

"If you need any help, just don’t do any evolutions for now, and I will hire a scholar who can keep his mouth shut later on for you." The baron spoke before he looked ahead again.

Theo sighed when he wasn’t looking anymore. He didn’t feel like revealing sothing as terrifying as this yet.

’But to beco a ’Foundation Human’... is this like those cultivation novels?’ Theo thought.

But as usual, seeing as there was no one to help him get answers and no guidebook, he could only depend on himself for these answers when he got there.

’There is no doubt about taking this evolution option... it could be an opportunity of a lifeti... But what if I grow so weird traits in my appearance or soone on a higher level could detect that I am different?’ he thought.

’Maybe there could be more Foundation Humans among us...’ he thought, but could tell it was unlikely to happen.

According to the supposed history, he was by far the only one with the evolution affinity.

’I should really get into research for the unique tars. Sotis information is withheld, and one has to dig deeper... I definitely haven’t reached that level of knowledge yet.’

"Young master?" Clara spoke, making Theo co out of his thoughts.

"Ah yes, I just can’t get my eyes off this evolution option. I will close it for now."

"Good choice," the baron muttered and looked down with a smile.

"But father... isn’t this gate really weird? There is nothing here." Theo spoke while looking everywhere.

"These big rocks could have so rare ore inside them though," he kept muttering.

"We aren’t here to do that, nor do we have the properly skilled people to detect sothing like this." The baron spoke and continued, "As for this gate having nothing... are you sure about that?" he said with that sa knowing smile.

Theo looked everywhere again, this ti with focus. He took a whole minute, so did Clara and Elias, who kept looking at everything.

"Close your eyes, feel the life brimming sowhere here, take your ti. It’s safe here." He spoke again, making Theo close his eyes and try ditating.

He tried finding anything remotely like life, only to mistakenly enter the mantis’s bond where its silhouette ca close to him.

Theo felt the emotions the big head was sending him and he just kept a hand on its big head.

’So you can detect the evolution I got too, glutton.’ Theo thought with a chuckle, making the mantis send emotions of happiness through the bond.

"Were you actually able to find sothing?" The baron asked, seeing the mildly smiling expression on Theo’s face, making him co out of the bond.

"Oh, I didn’t." He spoke, "I am just very happy with the evolution options, father." Theo spoke awkwardly, making the baron frown.

"Just what is this evolution this ti? I am curious to know what it’s about this ti." The baron spoke with a tone that made Theo realize there was no getting out of it now.

But he already had it covered.

"The mantis got a spatial evolution, father. If I take this option, its sensory perception inside 4 ters around it will be really good, helping it dodge enemy attacks much easier." Theo spoke smugly as he wasn’t really talking about the mantis but himself.

But seeing the shocked expression on the baron’s face, Theo felt like he had done it again.
