Now reading: Chapter 415. He caught the Hive Link from Insect Tamer's Ascension, a Fantasy novel by sahejRocks.

"We seem to have strayed quite far from the spatial conversation," Scholar Vale said with a small sigh. "But I wanted to make sure you are aware of the dangers."

"Alright." The man then clapped his hands once, as if deciding to start over again.

"Scholar Vale, could you tell more about those spatial arts you ntioned a little about before changing the topic?" Theo asked bluntly, surprising the scholar.

But the man simply smiled in amusent and nodded.

"I don’t think you truly need them. What I was talking about earlier was the distinction between spatial awareness and spatial affinity."

"In spatial arts, we usually teach those with the spatial affinity several core techniques: distance reading, direction sense, distortion sense and zone awareness."

"But..." the man paused.

"I have already seen the difficulty you are facing while walking. It’s almost as if you’re already a dium-grade spatial arts user. Yet you have never formally learned any of it. Your reactions alone prove that."

"And that only makes more curious about this ability of yours," he continued. "So, during tomorrow’s class, I would like to examine so of your spatial abilities and see how far along you are in so of these areas. I am looking forward to if we might discover sothing new."

When the scholar said that, Theo’s mind went to the ti his father told him to tread carefully. Even though the man seed like a good buy, Theo decided it would be better not to reveal too much and instead see what he could learn on his own.

They continued talking, and little by little, the scholar explained different aspects of the spatial arts. They then compared what Theo was doing instinctually with techniques that practitioners had to train for.

Apparently, everything that Theo could do naturally, to the point that it was even disturbing his day-to-day life, were abilities others spent years trying to master.

This made the scholar a bit skeptical.

"For the first ti," the scholar admitted. "I am a little curious about where these arts truly originated from, Young Theo. I feel a bit ashad to say that I have never really looked into that."

After Theo’s curious question about where the arts ca from, the scholar looked a little shaken and embarrassed. For the first ti since he arrived, Theo saw a more human side of the man.

"But for your abilities to match most of the arts... I find that interesting," the scholar spoke thoughtfully.

Theo didn’t respond to that and let the scholar cook as much as he wanted to.

Ti passed, and soon the class ca to an end. The scholar looked reluctant to leave him, but Theo already had too much on his plate to just continue all this.

He had been curious about the spatial arts, but he felt a little disappointed when he realized they were all just a lesser version of his skill, Lesser Spatial Awareness.

Instead of sword training this ti, Theo went to practice his Hive Link skill.

However, Theo didn’t know that using such an ability in the vicinity of a spatial ability scholar would eventually bring him to the point of revealing things that he hadn’t yet decided to share.

The next day, when Theo saw the scholar again, he frowned.

"What happened? Was the mattress not to your liking, Scholar Vale??" Theo asked.

However, the scholar shook his head.

"It was the best mattress I have ever slept on, Young Theo. But no, that’s not why I was awake the whole night."

At the mont, he looked like an unhealthy version of Rhys.

In Rhys’s case, the knight slept all day like a cat and still had a handso face that couldn’t look any healthier.

The scholar, on the other hand, looked like he had seen a ghost.

"Sothing happened while I was in my room; I sensed a spatial distortion on a level I have not felt in a long ti," he said, his eyes half closed from exhaustion.

His status being the sa or even higher than Theo’s made him a lot more relaxed around him.

"Did you find a spatial distortion inside the castle or nearby?" Theo asked.

"It was inside the castle, Young Theo. And it was a vast distortion too. I tried to comprehend it, and it felt like... there were multiple minds," the man said.

Theo felt shocked.

’...Is he talking about the hive link?’ Theo tried not to think about it too much. He didn’t want the scholar to get any ideas.

"But that just feels like made-up news, doesn’t it?" the scholar continued. "I stayed awake the whole night so that I could study it again, but it never happened after a few hours past dinner."

The last sentence was like the final nail in the coffin.

’That timing... that was definitely ...’

Theo didn’t know how to deal with this information.

’Do I even tell him what’s happening? The emperor knows about it... so does that make it normal for to do the sa...’

Theo thought about all that while the scholar remained lost in a world of his own.

Until Theo realized sothing.

"Scholar Vale, I think I know just the thing you are talking about. Well... not a thing, but multiple of them."

The mont Theo said, ’I know,’ the scholar shot up from his seat and grabbed Theo’s hands, which he reluctantly let him.

Pulling away might only make the man more curious and let him know more of what Theo wasn’t sure if he wanted to share just yet.

Not until the issue was resolved.

They made their way toward Theo’s room. Along the way, Theo noticed Elias had returned from his vacation. And from the looks of it, Clara had already told him about what Theo had done in the deeper parts of the forest.

Theo decided to talk with him later. For now, an urgent matter needed his attention.

They made their way inside Theo’s room, and before he could get to the next one, the scholar suddenly fell on his butt.

His eyes were crazy wide with fear, and sweat was already dripping down his forehead.

Before Theo could watch the man possibly lose control of his bladder and pee himself because of the certain soone in the corner of the room eating it’s favorite veggies, Theo decided he should probably explain a few things.
