Han Soi gave Feng Yansheng a sharp, disbelieving look. "Stop sprouting nonsense," he hissed, his voice trembling with anxiety and irritation.

"How could the egg hatch so soon? It hasn’t even been forty days. Are you sure your ’domain’ hasn’t damaged it?"

Feng Yansheng didn’t argue. He looked unusually solemn as he raised his hand. With a wave in the air, the incubator reappeared on the table between them.

Both n leaned in, their breaths hitching.

Inside the glass, the Winged Serpent egg was no longer still. It was jerking and tilting. Every few seconds, a muffled thump echoed from inside the shell, as if a tiny fist or tail was punching the walls of its prison.

A soft, golden light was leaking from the cracks that were just beginning to form on the surface.

Han Soi looked at the egg with intense fear and desperate expectation. "He’s really moving," he whispered, his eyes softening. "He’s trying to get out."

Just then, the heavy doors opened, and the Chief Temple Doctor hurried in, clutching his dical kit.

He didn’t waste any ti with pleasantries. He rushed to the incubator, placing his wrinkled hands on the glass and closing his eyes to sense the life force inside.

After a long minute, the doctor pulled back, a wide, stunned smile breaking across his face. "Congratulations! Truly, this is a miracle of the gods!"

"Is he okay?" Han Soi asked imdiately, his hand hovering near the glass but afraid to touch it. "Is it too early? Will he be weak?"

The doctor laughed softly and shook his head. "Weak? Far from it, Duke Han Soi. The cub isn’t hatching because he is premature; he is hatching because he has already matured! He has absorbed a massive amount of high-grade spiritual energy in a very short ti. His body is fully developed and overflowing with power."

The doctor looked around the room, his eyes landing on Feng Yansheng.

"Whatever place you have been keeping this egg in, it must be the richest spiritual environnt in the entire world. The egg didn’t just grow; it feasted. That is why he is coming out so soon."

Han Soi and Feng Yansheng exchanged a stunned, wide-eyed look. They both knew the truth.

It was his personal domain. That void wasn’t just a storage space; it was a concentrated well of ancient, divine energy that had accelerated the cub’s growth.

"So, what do we do?" Feng Yansheng asked, his voice low. "Do we help him break the shell?"

"No," the Doctor said firmly, stepping back to give the cub space. "Let him break the shell naturally. He needs this final struggle to harden his scales and settle his spirit. He will be born any mont now."

Han Soi looked at the doctor, his voice tight with worry. "And his health? Will there be any side effects from growing so fast?"

The Doctor smiled kindly, patting Han Soi’s arm. "Duke, I have never felt a life force this vibrant. Your son will likely be the strongest Winged Serpent born in a thousand years. Just watch. He is eager to et his parents."

Han Soi turned back to the egg, his heart swelling with a pride he had never felt before.

Beside him, Feng Yansheng’s usual smirk was gone, replaced by a look of genuine wonder.

After the Chief Doctor left the room to prepare the necessary tonics, a heavy silence fell over the two n.

Feng Yansheng was the first to speak, his gaze fixed on the vibrating incubator.

"I think you should call Yue Yue," he said, his voice surprisingly soft. "It’s her child. She would never forgive us if she missed this."

Han Soi snapped out of his daze, his eyes widening. "Yes! Yes, you’re right. She has to be here!"

He turned to rush toward the inner sanctum where Yue Yue was sleeping, but he stopped at the door and pointed a finger back at the High Priest.

"Keep an eye on that egg. If even a single scratch appears on him while I’m gone, I will kill you. I don’t care if you’re the High Priest or a god!"

Feng Yansheng didn’t even look up. He just waved a hand dismissively. "Just go, you loud snake. I’m not going to eat your son."

As soon as the door slamd shut behind Han Soi, the room beca quiet.

Feng Yansheng leaned forward, resting his chin on his palm as he stared at the glowing, jerking egg. The "loving" expression he had worn monts ago vanished, replaced by a dark smirk.

"Listen here, little brat," he said in a low, evil tone. "I know you can hear . You’ve been soaking up my domain’s energy for weeks like a greedy little sponge."

The egg tilted to the left and made a sharp sound. Tak!

Feng Yansheng narrowed his eyes. "Don’t ’tak’ at . Let’s get one thing straight before you co out of that shell. Yue Yue is mine. Once you’re born, you are not allowed to steal all her affection. You get the cradle; I get the bed. Understood?"

The egg vibrated violently, almost as if it were offended.

Tak! Tak!

"If you behave and don’t cry too much when I’m trying to spend ti with her, I’ll give you the best resources in the temple," Feng Yansheng continued, reaching out to poke the incubator with a single finger.

"I’ll make sure you grow up to be the strongest snake in the world. But if you try to cling to her dress every ti I walk into the room... well, I’ll just put you back in the void for a ’nap.’"

The egg went still for a second, then gave a tiny, defiant hop inside the incubator. Tak!

"Is that a challenge?" Feng Yansheng snickered, a genuine glint of amusent in his eyes.

"You really are your mother’s son. Fine. Just hurry up and hatch. Your father is probably hyperventilating in the hallway, and I’m tired of watching a rock move."

At that mont, the door burst open. Han Soi practically dragged a sleepy, disheveled Yue Yue into the room. Her hair was ssy, and her eyes were wide with panic.

"The egg? Is it okay?!" she cried out, her heart racing as she saw the glowing incubator.

Feng Yansheng imdiately wiped the evil smirk off his face and put on his most noble, elegant expression.

"He’s perfectly fine, Yue’er. He was just telling how much he misses his mother."
