After walking for a long distance through several heavily guarded corridors, Yue Yue was finally led into a special lift.

It was not an ordinary lift at all.

The man paused and said calmly, "Young Miss, please step into the Sky Veil Ascender."

The na alone made Yue Yue’s heart beat faster.

The Sky Veil Ascender was positioned at the very center of the tower. The mont she stepped onto it, she froze in place, because there were no solid walls or any visible ceiling.

The entire lift was nothing but a circular glowing platform beneath her feet, floating quietly in the air. Around it was only soft, flowing energy like transparent water mixed with light, forming gentle ripples that surrounded the platform.

At first glance, it looked like there was absolutely nothing stopping her from falling straight down.

Yue Yue instinctively stiffened.

Her fingers tightened around the lunchbox as her breath caught in her throat.

For a brief mont, she thought she might actually fall.

But when she cautiously stretched out her hand, her fingertips touched the air, and instantly a ripple of light spread outward. The invisible energy barrier responded to her touch, blocking her gently.

Her eyes widened.

"It’s... solid?" she murmured softly.

The energy wall shimred again, reacting like water disturbed by a stone. It did not feel like anything solid, but it was just there, blocking her.

The platform began to rise silently.

There was no sound of machinery. It was just a very pleasant ride, but she feared that people who feared heights would definitely be reduced to tears.

Yue Yue slowly relaxed, curiosity replacing her fear.

As the Sky Veil Ascender rose higher and higher, the view around her changed.

The interior of the Black Fang Command Tower unfolded beneath her like a massive dark city stacked vertically. Layers upon layers of platforms and glowing buildings stretched downward endlessly.

Above her, the tower pierced the sky like a black spear.

Below her, lights shimred like stars trapped inside tal.

"It’s... so beautiful..." she whispered.

She leaned slightly forward, peeking down through the transparent energy wall, her eyes sparkling. From this height, everything looked unreal, like she was floating inside a dream made of beautiful buildings.

She reached out again, pressing her palm gently against the energy ripple.

The wall responded imdiately, spreading light in soft waves, almost as if it was alive.

Her curiosity only grew stronger.

Behind her, the man walking with her kept a respectful distance.

He stood tall and alert with a straight posture, his gaze sharp.

Although he appeared calm, his eyes never once left Yue Yue.

He was the Duke’s most trusted aide.

Soone who had stood beside Han Soi through countless assassination attempts, ambushes, and betrayals, especially attacks from the winged serpent clan, day and night, openly and secretly.

Because of that, he trusted no one easily.

Not even soone who had already received the Duke’s approval.

Even now, as Yue Yue admired the lift with innocent fascination, his senses remained fully alert.

Every small movent she made was carefully observed. Every step and every expression.

He was prepared to react instantly if anything went wrong.

Yet as he watched her wide eyes filled with wonder, the way she cautiously touched the energy wall like a curious child, his guarded heart wavered slightly.

She did not look dangerous at all, but he dared not judge based on an innocent face, because in this world an innocent beauty could be very lethal.

But looking at her, he did not get any bad premonition, and she was like a kind hearted girl with a very pure soul. Even just standing beside her, he felt calmness sleeping inside her, and soon his chaotic mind beca calm.

He was surprised, but he silently hoped that all his doubts were wrong.

That maybe this female was truly soone who could bring warmth and joy into the Duke’s cold and dangerous life.

The Sky Veil Ascender continued rising.

Soon, they reached the highest level of the tower.

Before Yue Yue could even take a step forward,

A pair of strong arms suddenly wrapped around her.

She was pulled tightly into a broad, solid chest. The sudden force startled her completely.

Her face smashed lightly against firm muscles, and all the air was squeezed out of her lungs.

"H... Han Soi...!" she gasped. "Let breathe...!"

Only then did the arms loosen.

Han Soi pulled back imdiately, his hands still gripping her shoulders as his sharp eyes scanned her from head to toe.

His brows were deeply furrowed.

"Did sothing happen?" he asked quickly. "Why did you co here? Were you frightened? Did soone trouble you? Do you not like the house? Or did sothing go wrong..."

The words poured out one after another, filled with anxiousness, like he could not stop himself.

Yue Yue blinked at him. She had never seen him like this before, so worried, but a simple smile pulled up on her lips when she realized he was caring for her.

She steadied her breathing, then looked up at him and smiled softly.

"I just..." she said gently, "I missed you."

The words were simple and pure. But for Han Soi, it was enough to freeze him and make his mind completely blank.

For a brief mont, his entire body stiffened.

His sharp eyes wavered, and sothing unreadable flashed through them.

Yue Yue’s smile grew a little shy, a little embarrassed. Inside, she was screaming at herself.

Shaless. She was just too shaless. But being shaless was still acceptable when it ca to survival.

After all, her life depended directly on the moods of these villains.

So if she had to butter them up a little, then so be it. She would butter them up until they lted, until they disappeared peacefully from her life.

Then she would enjoy her luxurious future, living comfortably with almost ten planets under her na. She was very confident in her abilities, especially the purification one. Just thinking about those abilities, all she could see was endless money flowing into her pocket.

Han Soi finally released her shoulders and sighed deeply.

"...Don’t co to such places alone again," he said in a lower voice. "This tower is dangerous."

Yue Yue nodded obediently.

Behind them, the Duke’s most trusted aide stood completely frozen.

He had witnessed everything. The hug, the worry, and the softness in his Duke’s eyes.

He had never seen Han Soi hug anyone before, male or female.

Because of the Duke’s psychological condition, physical contact was sothing he avoided instinctively.

Yet just now...

His heart thumped heavily.

A strange warmth welled up in his chest.

Maybe, he thought, this female really could bring happiness to the Duke. And she did not have any haughty air like other females. She was just too pure, her expression and her aura.

So even if she was an F rank female, he would approve of her. After all, in his opinion, rather than being one of a hundred males of a high ranking female, it was better to beco the husband of a lower level female who would at least give them a little respect. He was not even considering love.

With that thought, he quietly lowered his head, turned around, and silently descended back down using the sa Sky Veil Ascender.

He did not dare disturb them.
