For a long mont, Yue Yue could not breathe.

His words... his fear, his sha echoed inside her chest, heavy and hollow and painfully fragile.

She had never imagined that behind his cold arrogance and ruthless strength lived a man who doubted himself so deeply... who believed he was unworthy of even standing close to her.

All this ti... he had been the one suffering.

Her heart twisted.

She was not afraid of him...not now, not ever.

After all... who knew him better than she did?

She had seen it all.

The man he would one day beco... the rciless villain who would slaughter tens of thousands, who would lock won in gilded cages, who would chain the one he loved just to keep her from leaving.

Yes... that future existed.

But that future was not now.

Right now... His eyes were red-rimd and trembling. His voice was hoarse. His body shook with guilt he didn’t know how to carry.

He had not yet fallen into darkness.

He was still struggling.

Still trying.

Still hers.

And she, who was foolish and impulsive, had stabbed straight into his deepest wound.

Her fingers tightened, sha burning in her chest.

It wasn’t him she was angry at.

It was herself.

It was the cursed system whispering poisonous thoughts into her mind... twisting her fears, pushing her to hurt the one person who had always chosen her, again and again.

"Han Soi..." she whispered.

He didn’t look up.

His forehead remained pressed against her neck, breath uneven, as if he expected her to push him away... to recoil... to deny him.

As if he truly believed he was filthy.

A monster.

Soone unworthy of love.

Her heart broke.

Slowly and gently, Yue Yue lifted her hand and cupped his face.

He startled. His breath hitched. Before he could pull away, she leaned in...

And pressed a soft kiss against his eyelids. He froze. His lashes trembled beneath her lips.

"I don’t care," she whispered, voice shaking... but firm.

"I don’t care what you have done... or who you think you are. I don’t care what your past looks like... or how dark your future may beco."

Her forehead rested against his.

"You are not dirty, Han Soi."

Her voice softened, filled with quiet strength.

"You are my husband."

His breath shuddered as if those words alone were enough to bring him to his knees.

"How... how could I resent you?" she murmured, guilt flooding through her. "I’m sorry. I was just angry... because you always run away from ... from us..."

His fingers twitched against the wall.

He wanted to hold her... she could feel it, but he still refused to let himself.

So Yue Yue moved first.

She tilted her head and captured his lips.

His mind went blank.

For a heartbeat, he didn’t respond; he was too shocked, too afraid to breathe.

Then the world shattered.

He kissed her back... desperately, painfully, as if he had been starving for her touch all this ti and finally allowed himself to taste it.

There was no dominance in his lips. Only trembling devotion. Only fear of losing her.

Yue Yue pressed closer, her entire body lting against his. Her hands slid upward, fingers tangling into his hair as she pulled him deeper into the kiss, no hesitation, no doubt, no distance left between them.

He thinks he is a monster... she thought bitterly.

But this trembling restraint, this aching tenderness... This was proof. He still had a heart and had control.

He still chose her... above power... above blood... above madness.

There was still ti.

He had not beco that villain yet.

And she would not allow him to fall into despair.

Not again.

The kiss deepened, and Yue Yue’s hands fumbled downward, desperately trying to pull at the front of his suit.

The zipper refused to move.

Her brows knit in frustration as she tugged harder...failing miserably.

Han Soi stiffened in panic.

His breath burned. His self-control snapped dangerously taut. His hand shot up and caught her wrist trembling violently.

"Y-Yue Yue," his voice cracked.

But she only leaned closer, lips brushing his, eyes fierce and unwavering.

"I am not afraid of you," she whispered.

"I never was."

His heart thundered in his chest.

Han Soi moved with the fluid, predatory grace of a serpent that had finally stopped fighting its own nature.

In one long, sweeping stride, he reached the bed and laid Yue Yue down upon the silk sheets. His weight followed imdiately, looming over her like a dark, protective shadow.

"Yue Yue," he rasped, his voice sounding like gravel and velvet. He pinned her wrists gently above her head, his violet eyes swirling with a storm of emotion.

"You are not allowed to abandon . Even if you regret this... even if you wake up and realize I am a monster... I will never let you go. Do you understand?"

Yue Yue didn’t answer with words. She tilted her head up and bit his lower lip...a small, sharp claim of her own.

"I will never," she whispered against his mouth, her eyes fierce. "Han Soi... I am yours. I have always been yours."

That was the final thread of his restraint.

The air in the room grew scorching as their clothes were discarded, thrown heedlessly onto the floor.

When Han Soi finally looked down at her, his breath hitched in his throat. Under the dim, warm light of the room, Yue Yue looked breathtaking. Her skin was like polished pearls, glowing with a soft radiance that made his heart hamr against his ribs until it ached.

He felt a wave of pure, unadulterated awe.

Slowly, his head dropped, and he began to trail kisses down her body. He moved with agonizing slowness, his lips pressed against her collarbone, her shoulder, and the sensitive curve of her neck.

Each touch was a silent prayer, a worshipful tribute to the woman who had looked into his darkness and reached out her hand.

"Han Soi..." Yue Yue gasped, her back arching off the bed.

The heat of his mouth was overwhelming. She felt like she was lting under him, her senses heightened to a point of delicious pain. But it was his eyes that truly undid her.

Every ti she dared to peek at him, she saw a burning, raw admiration that made her want to curl into a ball and hide.

"Don’t hide," he murmured, his voice a low vibration against her skin as he sensed her shyness.

"Let look at you. I want to morize every inch of my moon."

Yue Yue’s face was a fiery red. She tried to cover her eyes with her arm, but Han Soi gently moved it away, interlacing his fingers with hers.

He made her look at him, forcing her to see the love and the terrifying devotion reflected in his gaze.

"You’re so beautiful, Yue Yue," he whispered, his thumb brushing over her trembling lip. "So pure. I don’t deserve this... but I will spend every day of my life trying to be the man you believe I am."

The shyness she felt was slowly replaced by a deep, grounding warmth.
