Now reading: Chapter 373 - 117: Recruiting Workers from Interstellar Number One Farmer: I Only Want To Farm!, a Sci-fi novel by Lord of Turning Clouds.

That makes sense; Daddy Su accepted the suggestions of his old friends.

Renting a small spot on the space station wouldn’t cost much but would save on labor. These areas are the main source of inco for the Garbage Star, usually watched over by many patrols.

If you slip a little money to these people, they’ll naturally keep a better watch.

If the servers break down, just spend a little to get a nearby worker to handle it.

The best of both worlds.

Daddy Su thanked his old friends and chatted with them a bit before going to work for Su Xiaocai.

As he worked, he sighed about his own soft heart.

But who else can be as extravagant as him, with hundreds of acres being worked on by robots?

"Too decadent."

Daddy Su pinched his nose and admitted defeat. Three days later, he handed the list to Su Xiaocai.

Almost 300 people were listed, detailing where each wanted to work and their preferred salary bases, all organized into a chart.

The mont she opened the chart, Su Xiaocai jumped up.

With Daddy Su’s intervention, he solved more than ten days’ worth of company work—a workforce they couldn’t even beg for was handed to her just like that.

After delivering the docunt, Daddy Su subtly sought credit, pridefully wanting his daughter to praise him.

Su Xiaocai realized it, "Dad, you’re my role model, my pillar, a hero who always stands behind , holding an umbrella for ..."

In Daddy Su’s ears, this elentary-level essay was the most pleasing praise he’d ever heard, so he held back from hanging up the phone.

But he forgot, his little darling was leaky.

As she recited, Su Xiaocai couldn’t continue, "Dad, your daughter is still short a billion or so."

"Beep beep beep..." With a glance around and seeing no one, Su Xiaocai pouted, her mouth able to hang an oil bottle, and into the communicator, she said, "Doesn’t my praise deserve a bit of cash?"

Xiao Wanzi overheard: "Very valuable. How much do you need, Caicai? If you praise , I’ll give you money too."

Su Xiaocai: "Be good, keep your money safe."

No matter how poor she was, she wouldn’t exploit Xiao Wanzi’s wallet.

And her dad’s money, she was only joking and wouldn’t take it; it was just a daily banter between them.

She forwarded the docunt to Yu Haoming, asking him to arrange things according to it.

Yu Haoming happened to be at the cage room he’d previously lived in, and seeing that Su Xiaocai really provided a swarm of people—divine gifts indeed—and luckily, the boss had wide connections.

He was about to beg the three shareholders for help.

In the evening, in the cage rooms here, the corridor lights stayed on all day, but inside the living spaces, there were rarely any bright lights.

Saving wherever possible was a mutual understanding among all residents here.

So when Yu Haoming arrived, he saw many people sitting outside their doors, using the corridor light to check their communicators for news and watch free videos.

Yu Haoming thought of himself a few months ago, also in that narrow corridor, sewing plushies while doing accounts, striving to utilize every spare mont to work more for money.

At that ti, life wasn’t terrible, but not sweet either, with his mind filled daily with thoughts of how to solve basic living needs and securing a place to stay.

Beyond that, there wasn’t much interest in life.

Yu Haoming ca to find an old roommate who had helped him before, the elder brother from the bed next door.

Not seeing each other for so ti now, the elder brother’s face seed even older, crow’s feet spreading from the corners of his eyes.

The elder brother’s surna was Xin. He was surprised yet worried to see Yu Haoming here: "You’re a manager now; why co back here? Let’s find a place to gather."

Brother Xin couldn’t find a seat for Yu Haoming in his little bed space, feeling a bit awkward, and wanted to suggest going to a small eatery outside.

"No need, I specifically ca to find you."

"Is there sothing you need my help with?"

"Yes, I do need so things done with your help."

Brother Xin was taken aback. With Yu Haoming’s status now, what could he possibly need his help for?

"Brother Xin, do you want to go back ho to see your wife and kids?" Yu Haoming asked.

Brother Xin was silent, longing but to what end? The hotown wages were too low. He’d have to strive here for at least twenty more years before he could return.

Brother Xin felt his brains couldn’t scout Yu Haoming’s intentions, "Just say it straight. If I can help, I certainly will."

"I have a job now that allows you to return ho to work, ensuring fair pay. The compensation’s decent, just requires a few days’ training, and you can start right away. Are you willing?" Yu Haoming understood that laborers with little education found it difficult to land jobs, mostly resorting to physical labor.

While labor paid well, encountering a shady boss ant working for free.

That’s why Brother Xin dared not stop. It wasn’t his first ti not receiving his wages.
