Luo Lianliang was the most visionary Maintenance Technician in his shop.
Precisely because his education level was low, they could hire him back as a temp worker. Among several Maintenance Technicians he charged the least, yet was the most popular.
"You’re saying he got poached by Su Xiaocai, and she ca in person to poach him?" The boss couldn’t figure out how Luo Lianliang would even know Su Xiaocai.
"No, she just sent him one ssage and he left. Boss, you’ve treated him so well, and he doesn’t appreciate it, ungrateful as hell—just up and walked, leaving a ss behind. You don’t have any backup talent to call in, so let’s get through this job first!" The supervisor dodged the main issue; first survive this crisis, future problems could be dealt with later.
"They specifically nad Master Luo for the modification. Where am I supposed to find another Master Luo?" The boss knew exactly what kind of person the supervisor he’d hired was, and he knew Luo Lianliang was responsible—he wouldn’t suddenly drop the work in his hands.
"Did you say sothing that pissed Master Luo off and made him leave?" Right then Su Xiaocai had sent him an offer; in a fit of anger, he walked. The boss’s guess fit the situation perfectly.
The supervisor went silent for a mont, and the boss instantly knew it really was him.
He’d basically smashed his own foot with a rock. If the person he drove off had no way out, persuading him to co back would be easy. But once there was a way out, it was a different story.
The boss said, "I’ll call Master Luo first."
The supervisor’s face turned ugly, his triangular eyes narrowing to slits.
Now the boss wanted to invite Luo Lianliang back—where was he supposed to put his own face? As he saw it, just hire a new Maintenance Technician and be done with it. Did it really have to be Luo Lianliang?
The boss hung up on this end and tried to contact Luo Lianliang.
The supervisor took it upon himself to contact his own friend, soone he’d gotten to know by chance—a highly educated guy who’d also majored in maintenance back in university.
He figured, they’re all Maintenance Technicians, who can’t fix cha?
Luo Lianliang had already taken a shower. His sister officially started school today, and only Grandpa Luo was left at ho.
Grandpa Luo helped him into the good clothes his father from the Luo Family had left behind, and reminded him, "You don’t have to repay the debt anymore. What we gave out before has already been recovered. Work hard, learn solid skills from your boss."
Luo Lianliang nodded. "I will."
"If there’s a girl you like, you can try saying sothing. My boy is this handso—it’s about ti you started dating."
That was sothing Luo Lianliang couldn’t respond to. A mont ago it was all about studying hard, and in the blink of an eye they were talking about this.
"I’m joking." Grandpa Luo helped comb his hair. It had grown a bit long and tangled easily; with one hand it was hard to manage, so he let Luo Lianliang comb it himself. "It’s fine if you don’t date. As long as you’re happy."
Luo Lianliang pressed his lips together. "I’ll be happy, Grandpa."
From now on he’d walk upright and open, no longer carrying the labels of gambler’s son and problem dropout.
He had just stepped onto the flight public-rail car heading to Extraordinary Island when his communicator rang. Seeing the caller ID, Luo Lianliang’s attitude was firm: he didn’t answer.
No one was going to block his road to his dream.
He had to get a formal job; otherwise even his sister’s schooling would be a problem.
Unable to reach Luo Lianliang, the boss could only apologize to the client and ask if they could switch to another Maintenance Technician.
"What, Master Luo’s gone to Extraordinary Island to work for President Su? I knew my eye was good." The client was genuinely happy for Luo Lianliang. So what if the modification didn’t get done—no big deal.
"I’ll take the cha away and have another master do the modification."
Every client has a favorite master’s craftsmanship, and that’s only natural. The boss was very grateful for the client’s understanding, apologized repeatedly, and sent the client off with so gifts and coupons, welcoming them to co again next ti.
However, while he had settled things with the client, he hadn’t settled things with the idiot.
The supervisor, with his pointless "initiative," had brought in an unreliable Maintenance Technician, who dismantled part of the client’s cha and couldn’t put it back together.
When the client saw the cha in pieces, they exploded on the spot, deciding the boss’s brain circuits were clearly broken—hiring soone who knew nothing as a supervisor ant the boss himself wasn’t any good either.
The supervisor stared at the cha parts he couldn’t reinstall, unable to believe it. He questioned his friend, "Didn’t you graduate from university? Weren’t you in the maintenance departnt? Forget not knowing how to modify a cha—how can you not even put it back together?"
The supervisor’s friend’s face darkened. He already disliked that the supervisor had invited him over and was still talking to him with that attitude, now blaming him because the modification went badly.
He stiffened his neck. "I was great back in university, sure, but the cha now isn’t the sa as the ones we studied. And I didn’t go into the maintenance industry after graduation—I’m just out of practice."
"If you don’t have the skills, then don’t brag your ass off. It’s all bullshit. You just wanted the money—you’re a bastard, a fraud."
"You wanted to listen to people brag and actually believed it. Who are you gonna bla for that?"
