"Help quickly."

The soldier was dragged, stumbling, and had to brace against the petri dish table with one hand to steady himself.

Su Xiaocai didn’t even look at her. She jumped up again, narrowly avoiding the sweeping tentacles.

She grabbed a horizontal bar with both hands, doing a one-handed pull-up.

Monsters kept trying to snatch her from below, while Colonel Yuan and two Majors cleared obstacles for her.

"Save , save quickly." The soldier held by Feng Ruchuan managed to grab her belt. The combat suit wasn’t very stretchy, and her fingernails dug into the fabric, pulling it out of shape.

The soldier needed to both hold onto her and continue fighting.

This couldn’t go on. The soldier looked around and saw a handrail behind him. He struggled to shake a rope out of his backpack, tied it tightly in a few swift moves, and anchored himself to the handrail to avoid being dragged away.

He tossed the rope to the female forensic doctor.

"Don’t pull on , hold onto the rope. I’ll cut off the tentacles for you."

"No, if I let go, I’ll fall into their mouths. You’re sure to abandon ."

"We can’t spare another hand to save you." With the defense line already so tight, sending more people to rescue her would surely cause it to collapse.

"You’re discriminating; you don’t care about us civilians." Feng Ruchuan couldn’t tell what she was saying. She was terrified of dying and didn’t want to die.

In the struggle, the monster’s transformation into Insect Man was nearly complete, its combat power greatly increased, and it seed to have grown more intelligent.

Several tentacles wrapped around Feng Ruchuan’s ankle, pressing towards her.

The soldier avoided aiming his gun her way to prevent accidentally harming her, leaving her area unscathed.

"No, no." A chunk of flesh from the Insect Man engulfed half her calf.

She scread, nearly suffocating.

Su Xiaocai had climbed to the topmost position, a dangerous spot now, not within the soldiers’ protective range, relying solely on Huahua for defense.

Huahua, like a tiny Guardian God, landed on the petri dish, constantly tearing at tentacles with its claws, managing to protect Su Xiaocai.

The frail human who cleans up after it may provide delicious food, so it’s the master’s duty to occasionally protect her.

The awe-inspiring warrior Huahua left many who saw its bravery in shock.

In monts of danger, they couldn’t help but think that if more Huahua could be trained to scout Insect n on the ground, they could save unasurable manpower and resources.

"Save first." Feng Ruchuan was desperate. Why were Colonel Yuan and the others all protecting Su Xiaocai? He had advanced weapons and could surely spare so attention to protect her too.

She was the one in danger; she should have been the priority for protection.

Her outburst of survival instinct impressed Colonel Yuan, but he could not let Su Xiaocai die; they were her guards, prioritizing their mission.

It’s not about who’s closest to death that earns special rights.

Su Xiaocai took out a hamr from her pocket, snatched from the toolbox, violently smashed open a previously syringe-ejecting instrunt, which was thankfully not fixed in place. She pulled it off and quickly sprayed the monsters below with the needle’s contents.

As long as the serum hit flesh, the monster would go limp, greatly reducing the soldiers’ pressure.

Finally, soone was freed up to help Feng Ruchuan.

Su Xiaocai’s tily move allowed the female forensic doctor to escape.

But she lost a leg, her body sticky, her consciousness still clear.

Perhaps the Insect Man had a numbing effect on the nerves; Feng Ruchuan didn’t feel pain, the hurt in her heart was harder to bear than a severed leg.

She grabbed the lifeline rope the soldier had given her and scread madly, as if fighting the monster, or perhaps on purpose.

A thankless act, she pushed the soldier out.

The monsters weren’t dead yet, and the soldier got swept outside, falling into the heap of monsters.

"What are you doing?" Su Xiaocai handed the syringe-firing instrunt to soone else, strode over, and slapped Feng Ruchuan across the face.

"Are you done being crazy?"

Feng Ruchuan fell silent, looking down, her eyes filled with malice, glancing up, staring hatefully at Su Xiaocai without a word.

It seed she had lost her mind.

In the end, it was all Su Xiaocai’s fault. If Su Xiaocai hadn’t co to the lab, she wouldn’t have been sent here.

If it weren’t for Su Xiaocai, everyone here would have protected her, the weak one.

Gradually, Colonel Yuan gained the upper hand.

Cooperating with outsiders, they eradicated all the monsters here.

After the elimination, Colonel Yuan imdiately had people put on exoskeletons to clear the ground clutter of corpses.

In the end, beneath the pile of monster corpses, they pulled out a soldier, barely clinging to life.
