Unless dozens of Heaven-Shaking Thunderbombs struck a target at the sa ti, killing a strong opponent outright was nearly impossible.
This first exchange had rely been a test, a probing strike to gauge one another’s strength.
Neither side had yet revealed their true trump cards.
Even so, the sheer scale of the attack was terrifying.
The total value of the destructive items used in that brief clash amounted to several million gold coins, enough to obliterate hundreds of ordinary low-level Qi Sea Realm martial artists.
Just as the six of them were preparing to unleash a second and even fiercer round of battle—
Creak.
A heavy tallic sound echoed through the chamber.
Mu Lan and the others, by so unknown thod, had succeeded in opening the giant tal gate.
At once, an endless flood of blue light poured out from within.
The radiant glow spread like a tide, engulfing Mu Lan and her group first, then sweeping over Li Yun and the others before anyone could react.
The blue light contracted as suddenly as it had appeared.
The tal gate closed once again with a thunderous rumble.
In an instant, everyone vanished.
...
When Li Yun regained awareness, he found himself standing inside a dim stone hall.
"Is this the interior of the tomb?"
He slowly lifted his head and surveyed his surroundings.
The hall was ancient and solemn, clearly a place that had existed for hundreds of years.
Massive stone walls rose around him, weathered by ti and filled with an eerie silence.
As he appeared, giant lamps suspended seven or eight ters above his head suddenly burst into fla one after another, casting down a cold and brilliant glow that illuminated the chamber in pale blue light.
Li Yun narrowed his eyes as he studied the strange hall.
"A Heavenly Core Realm martial artist’s tomb... could it truly be this miraculous?"
His voice carried both wonder and suspicion.
A tomb built within the mysterious Misty Land was already sothing beyond ordinary imagination, and the strange blue light that had transported them here seed far beyond what even a Heavenly Core Realm martial artist should have been capable of creating.
Li Yun raised his hand and reached toward one of the burning lamps above.
With a controlled motion, he drew down a strand of fla.
Poof.
The protective layer of qi he had wrapped around his hand was instantly burned through the mont it touched the fla.
The egg-sized fla dropped to the ground without scattering even a single spark.
It burned in complete silence.
The fla was blue, so pure and translucent that it resembled a crystal sphere. At its very center floated a drop of thick viscous blue liquid, glowing faintly like condensed essence.
Li Yun’s eyes narrowed in shock.
"Could this be the blood of a Tier 6 demonic beast... the Desolate Blood Azure Fla Beast?"
His voice carried both disbelief and astonishnt.
During his ti in Martial Ascension Gate, Li Yun had spent many spare hours reading ancient bestiaries. Among those countless records was ntion of one terrifying creature known as the Desolate Blood Azure Fla Beast.
This beast was a legendary Tier 6 demonic beast whose entire body was wrapped in blue flas.
Even a single strand of its fla could instantly reduce an Essence Qi Realm martial artist to ashes.
After its death, the flas covering its corpse would continue burning until every drop of blood within it had completely dried up.
Such a creature was unimaginably powerful.
Yet here, inside this tomb, its blood was being used rely as fuel for lamps.
Li Yun let out a quiet breath.
"No wonder this is the tomb of a Heavenly Core Realm martial artist."
He tried to collect the fla, but the mont his qi approached it, the energy was instantly incinerated into nothingness.
At most, he could only cause the fla to shift slightly, but controlling it was impossible.
The next instant, a strange suction force descended from above.
The blue fla rose back into the air as if summoned and returned to its lamp, where it resud burning in silent brilliance.
Li Yun stared at it thoughtfully.
"How many such tombs could there be hidden in this world?"
The question stirred deep curiosity within him.
In the Southern Martial Domain, where even reaching the Mortal Core Realm was considered the ultimate peak, records concerning Heavenly Core Realm experts had long beco fragnted and obscure.
Perhaps only those who had reached the Mortal Core or Earthly Core Realms knew more of such ancient truths.
For everyone below that level, knowledge of such matters was little more than myth.
Finding nothing else unusual in the hall, Li Yun moved onward.
The interior of the tomb was vast beyond asure.
Passage after passage stretched in every direction like an enormous labyrinth, twisting endlessly through the mountain’s hollow depths.
After wandering for an unknown length of ti, Li Yun finally ca upon a chamber.
Just as he stepped toward the entrance, an invisible force threw him backward.
His expression darkened.
Frowning, he slowly extended his right hand and pressed it toward the empty doorway.
Though nothing could be seen, his palm t resistance.
There was an invisible wall there, intangible to the eye yet undeniably solid.
When he pushed harder, the barrier gave slightly with strange elasticity, causing a sharp tingling sensation to spread through his palm.
"Could this be Martial Dao Intent?"
Li Yun’s heart tightened the mont the thought crossed his mind.
Martial Dao Intent was not limited to living martial artists alone. Under certain circumstances, it could remain behind even after death. If a powerful cultivator infused their intent into a weapon, or if their will lingered strongly enough in a place, that intent could endure for hundreds of years without fading.
One such example was Martial Dao Crystal.
It was now clear to Li Yun that the doorway of this chamber had been sealed by a defensive true intent.
Unless that intent was broken, no one would ever be able to step inside.
Li Yun drew his sword and thrust it toward the empty space at the entrance.
The void imdiately twisted with a faint ripple, and the rebounding elasticity was so powerful that it nearly threw him off balance.
"It reacted!"
A flash of delight appeared in Li Yun’s eyes.
Since the barrier responded to his strike, it ant it could be broken.
